Of course, Feng Yi was not aware of all these situations. He had heard some rumors about Shadow Rider, which were negative. However, he didn't care much. The waiting time was always dull until Francis arrived at Maraca Freedom Port and completed all the relevant handover procedures. Only then did Feng Yi take a sigh of relief, deciding to sell Athena's signature for a good price.
As soon as Feng Yi came online, he was utterly stunned. Dang it. Revenge Shadow Rider, who stood first in the National Confrontation leaderboard, was receiving invitation letters from various major groups. The perks were immense. Still, Feng Yi showed no interest in the letters and the perks. The real interest was his competition bonus, which was donated to the charitable project by Hans and countless fans in the name of Shadow Rider.
Normally, bonuses were transferred directly into his bank account. But the National Confrontation wasn't really competitive in the traditional sense, and the winners needed to claim the cash rewards in person at the Star Wars company. Shadow Rider, in this case, was an exception.
Fortunately, he still had several Athena's signatures, meaning that he wouldn't starve to death on the street. Having experienced being mobbed while running a street stall, Feng didn't want to keep selling on the street like a scammer. His focus was to find an auction house.
Feng Yi quickly opened the search function and found an auction house near the Rose Legion. He then threw his items for auction up for sale with clear marked prices, though the service fee would still be deducted.
While waiting for the auction to start, Feng Yi exited Galactic Warfare, leaving Triangular Star. His vacation would completely end today. While he still had time, he decided to visit a girl named Zhou Shanshan. Actually, his trip to Maraca was mainly for this.
As luck would have it, Zhou Shanshan was out participating in a special event organized by her school. Despite this, Feng Yi stood afar without disturbing her as it seemed that she was having a good time at the event. That was enough for him. Sometimes, suddenly intruding into someone's life could have negative effects.
As soon as his vacation ended, at 0:00:07 the next day, Feng Yi annoyingly received a task from the Military Department through Heavenly Communication.
Darn it, at least send it in the daytime. He just fell asleep and then the message came in, which was really annoying. Seeing the beautiful intelligence officer blushing on the other end of Heavenly Communication, Feng Yi realized the way he looked. Damn it. Good thing he was wearing pants, or he would've been exposed.
"Sir..."
"No need to say more, just send it to me in text form," Feng Yi interrupted the beautiful intelligence officer, then turned his mode to silent and continued sleeping.
Feng Yi had a restless sleep the next morning. A nightmare woke him up where the auctioned items not only failed to be sold but were also stolen midway. Of course, being stolen was impossible. It was purely a figment of his nightmare. However, the signatures not being sold was true.
Athena's signatures had electronic identification technology. They were authentic and couldn't be forged. Feng Yi never expected that even Athena's signatures didn't get a minimum bid. This was unbelievable, supernatural, and completely illogical.
To some extent, even as Revenge Shadow Rider, he couldn't surpass Athena. This shows how high she stands in people's hearts and how wide her fan base is, which is basically an unsurpassable existence.
Feng Yi decided to wait a bit longer. The Military Department had assigned a task to support a barren place within a specified time of 15 days. His lieutenant rank barely held any weight. The interstellar flights from Maraca were only once a week. He only had to catch the weekend flight. So, for now, he planned to sell some signatures and use the money to buy some Mecha raw materials. He had already bought most of the super-metal materials. The only thing that was missing was precision software. As for large-scale hardware, as long as he had a high-performance Mecha, Feng Yi didn't crave more equipment very much.
With this in mind, he logged into Galactic Warfare again and hung the items in the auction house. Oddly enough, this auction house was named "Happy". However, Feng Yi had a bellyful of bitterness. Dang it, a day's time quickly passed. After all these days of waiting, some result should've come out. Like he expected, just when he was about to lose hope, the item was finally sold at the lowest price.
Feng Yi, filled with righteous indignation, went directly to the Happy Auction House to investigate. After all, Athena's signature couldn't possibly be worth just the minimum price. Arriving at the auction house, he was completely stunned to find the seven-star rating and impeccable reputation auction house, surprisingly quiet and deserted.
What he saw was incredible. Many players had died halfway before even reaching the auction house, having been intercepted and besieged by Tyrant Guild's fighters. Those who actually made it to the auction were primarily tough, resilient individuals who didn't fear a beating. Yet even these folks often ended up dying and respawning in the Safe Zone as they left the auction house.
It seemed everyone had gotten used to this local behavior and were unaffected by the Tyrant Guild's antics. In the midst of laughter, two fearful fellows were sprinting towards the auction house, discussing auction-related matters nonstop, even as one of them was on the verge of dying.
Fortunately, someone from the auction house quickly stepped forward and fired several shots towards the members of the Tyrant Guild who were blocking the entrance. After firing, he promptly retreated back to the Safe Zone.
Just as the Tyrant Guild members shifted their attention, the man jumped out again and again, in and out, hopping back and forth like a flea.
Watching these shenanigans left Feng Yi rather speechless, his exasperation serving to paradoxically tickle his funny bone.
Honestly, if not for the different factions involved, Feng Yi would have felt like kicking the hopping flea back into the Safe Zone himself. After some inquiries led to the revelation of the truth, he failed to find anything funny. Once again, it had been due to the Tyrant Guild's dirty tactics. While Feng Yi didn't care if they targeted him, he was bothered that they were taking business away from others. No wonder the items were fetching only minimum prices. His own minimum price wasn't low and was something that the common players in ragtag clothes couldn't afford. Even so, it was a feat that there were some sporadic minor buyers willing to match even the minimum price.
"Hmm...what to do." Feng Yi rubbed his chin, his mind rapidly working on a solution.
Meanwhile, Yu Xin, the highest-ranking representative of the Happy Auction House, was on her way to the Rose Guild. They had been oppressed by the Tyrant Guild for far too long, and now was the time to turn the tables or they risked never getting another opportunity.
Strictly speaking, Yu Xin was more aware of the situation confronted by her and the Rose Guild than Sheng Qiangwei. She considered them allies, as they both faced the same challenges. Despite its weak foundation, the Rose Guild was in its prime, presenting a golden opportunity for growth and expansion. The National Confrontation ad campaign outperformed any other promotion. If they wanted to counter the Tyrant Guild, now was the time.
She had secretly managed to ally with some smaller guilds that held grievances against the Tyrant Guild. Combined, these guilds had nearly ten thousand members. Along with the aid from the Rose Guild, they had about a 10% chance of breaking down the Tyrant Guild—or perhaps less than 10%. After all, only such a tiny probability could reflect their greatest sorrow. Regardless of whether their odds stood at 10% or less, Yu Xin had made up her mind to challenge the Tyrant Guild until the end.
Since Sheng Qiangwei was in class and couldn't meet her, an elder from the Wind Thunder Academy received her at the visitors' room. After briefly apologizing for being presumptuous, Yu Xin got straight to discussing the current state of affairs.
Understanding that the enemy of an enemy could be a potential friend, the elder asked, "Chairperson Yu, do you have a viable strategy to share?"
"I've made alliances with nearby mid-sized and small guilds to stand against Tyrant. On the Saudi holiday this month, the Tyrant Guild's defenses should be at their weakest. If we launch a guild war at the right time, I believe our chances of success are more than plausible," Yu Xin stated.
The elder shook his head and responded, "At the Tyrant Guild's high level of strength, any probabilities would be drastically reduced compared to predictions. Moreover, we can't guarantee that all the allied guilds will fully commit to the battle. The likely resource depletion would be more than the Rose Guild can bear."
Indeed, even with equitable distribution of war spoils, it would be impossible for the Rose Guild to recreate such a marketing opportunity.
