Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 260: Compensation_1

What... was happening? For a moment, everyone's faces were filled with bewilderment. Their automatic rifle had been effortlessly broken in half by the other party. The team leader's eyes were full of disbelief. If the other party was a mercenary protecting this team, his level seemed far too high.

They had no chance of victory against him, but what of it? Who dared to disturb the peace in the Freedom Port of Maraca, the domain of one of the five top lords, Gomez? The team leader's stern face revealed a touch of seriousness. "None of you are allowed to leave." She slowly took out her communicator and dialed a sequence for Heavenly Communication.

The voice at the other end of Heavenly Communication was cold. Despite the lack of familiarity, one could feel the speaker's oppressive authority from his raspy voice through the communicator.

The team leader soon hung up, a confident smirk on her lips. With the help of that powerful authority, no one would dare to cause trouble in this space port.

This matter couldn't be dealt with peacefully. If the other party insisted on pressuring them, there was no need to be patient. With Feng Yi present, there was nothing to fear in this lawless land. He tilted his head slightly, his gaze switching between both sides, seemingly feeling the flow of the wind.

The crowd was growing, their curiosity overcoming their fear, yet no one dared to actually approach the scene.

The distant chatter of onlookers persisted, the refugees in the back trembling in fear...No one had expected things to turn out this way. They had all come here, hoping to conduct some small business.

The elderly man from before, despite his fear, understood the severity of the situation. He approached the team leader with a few others, putting on a brave face. "Miss, we were wrong in the first place. We will take a detour now, please, don't make things difficult for us."

"Shut your damn mouth!"

Smack!

Before the elderly man could finish, a camouflaged hooligan kicked him violently from behind. A disturbing sound of breaking bones resonated around. The old man let out a scream before fainting.

The sudden turn of events caught even Feng Yi off guard. He was concerned about endangering the refugees associated with the federation but didn't expect an old man speaking up for him to be attacked right before his eyes.

Being a top-level soldier, Feng Yi was always eager for battle, yearning for the chance to rise in rank with each fight.

But he was also a rational individual. Feng Yi wouldn't usually allow himself to be provoked. Yet, his patience was now being repeatedly tested. His defense line just suffered casualties. Feng Yi swore to avenge this insult.

Elite fights often ended with life-and-death struggles. Gomez, one of the leading figures of Maraca Freedom Port was about to see for himself who would win.

Feng Yi rapidly raised his combat readiness to the peak. He landed a swift roundhouse kick. The thug who attacked earlier was sent flying tens of meters away, crashing into a parked luxury sports car. His body crushed the car, with the impact moving it slightly. The thug wasn't breathing much, his body reduced to a bloody pulp.

"How dare..."

The leader's sentence was cut short. A black sniper rifle was pointed at her forehead, and she knew that uttering another word would invite nothing but trouble.

The scene turned eerily silent, so much so that one could hear a pin drop.

Onlookers were now maintaining a safe distance to avoid any association with either party. The influential figures who usually frequent the city had also retreated. They stayed hundreds of meters away, observant...

The audacity with which Feng Yi had taken the upper hand was clear to the team leader. She began to feel a growing sense of foreboding. Was it possible they had stirred up some high-level menace today? One of her foolish underlings had actually taken violent action after listening to her Heavenly Communication call.

The fact that Feng Yi was undeterred by Lord Gomez was unusual. If his strength reached such a threshold, even Lord Reno, who she had spoken to earlier, would not be able to bring the situation under control. After all, in Gomez's eyes, Reno was simply the manager of Cherry Blossom District, with only a judo master loyal to him.

As the manager, her role was mainly to extract a minor amount of profits from the operations run under Reno's name. Since the judo master, who nominally maintained order in Cherry Blossom District, was not under Reno's command, she only had limited power.

With the rapid flow of information these days, within minutes, news of the incident had spread throughout the Triangular Star. Everything that was happening across the underground casino in Cherry Blossom District was being recorded on light screen phones.

Five minutes later, an armed troop of 100 men arrived at the scene. They immediately drew their weapons, but before they could act, Feng Yi had already made his first move.

His movements were incredibly fast. Within seconds, the henchmen of Gomez who were about to attack the refugees, found their trigger hands dismembered. The previously clean ground was now soaked with blood. Anyone who wished to attack the Federation refugees had to ask themselves if they could afford to pay the price.
