Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1381: Singing and Drinking Freely

Feng Luo was filled with a sudden realization, "So they all came by when I was unconscious."

"Of course, I actually think it's normal. They all have strong personalities, and although they don't show it, they care about you more than others—didn't you say that Mengdie from that world is still around? You should be the one who knows her best."

Feng Luo felt frustrated hearing this: "I haven't spent much time with my mother."

"Why not?"

Feng Luo fell into a short reverie and explained to Xiu Yi that, due to the different development of world lines, in that world he was closer to Sky Shadow, Blade Warrior, and Xiu Yi.

Since he could remember, he had been trained by Sky Shadow Xiu Yi, taught how to fight, because he had a father he had never met but who influenced that era—Feng Yi.

Of course, this was a story that Brother Xiu Yi often told him, and because of his training, the time he spent with his mother was actually very limited.

His mother always gave him a sense of being both near and far; until he turned 15, officially an adult, she never sought him out again—except for once when he was critically injured and dying, she intervened to save him, but that was the limit of their interaction; he and Mengdie really didn't communicate much.

In fact, subconsciously he was quite rebellious, not believing that he had a mother, who he hardly spent any time with and who appeared younger than him, until he traversed to this world and was convinced that Mengdie really was his biological mother.

Perhaps it was because of his inherently timid nature that Mengdie did not like him, or maybe his mother had unspeakable reasons. However, his initially timid personality was indeed not very likable.

"What a silly thing to say, there's no mother who doesn't love her child."

"Or, maybe I'm just overthinking it."

"Mm, then how did you become how you are now?"

Feng Luo lowered his head and continued to narrate the stories of their world...

Actually, he had always been terrible, but it was only after Uncle Sky Shadow and Brother Xiu Yi both died in battle that he gradually understood the harshness of survival, causing his soft heart to mature over time—now, he was a warrior who could stand alone, but could never again retrieve those who were lost.

This is why, when he saw Sky Shadow and Xiu Yi for an instant, tears welled up uncontrollably, yet when he saw Mengdie, he felt more awkwardness.

Even now, when he sees Xiu Yi again and recalls those times, he's very grateful to see the faces that once lived in his memory.

Xiu Yi silently listened and nodded affirmatively at Feng Luo, "You're still young, but you've really matured—don't push yourself. Let bygones be bygones. We often regret and lament the mistakes we've made but do not appreciate the present. This was Brother Feng's advice to me. I have never forgotten anything he said and hope you can also come to this understanding."

"I will remember, Brother Xiu Yi!"

"Go take a walk, your father is just outside, go and meet him if you want."

Well... Feng Luo was puzzled, to say the least. He usually wanted to see, to meet the father who was reputedly heroic and dashing, but when the time really came, he felt scared.

"Why are you acting like a shy bride." Xiu Yi suddenly laughed and said to him, "Brother Feng is the most easygoing person I know, not difficult to approach as you imagined."

So, a few minutes later, Feng Luo went out to meet Feng Yi—he was very suspicious, as the charming man who looked not much older than himself was, in fact, his father from that world.

With deep eyes, a crisp outfit, a simple aura, and humorous and witty, yet substantive conversation, he indeed had an indescribable charm.

It seemed as though everyone here was his close friend, or perhaps he was the core of the circle even people like Roland and Uncle Sky Shadow, who were usually reserved, occasionally bantered about his words and actions, while the talkative fat uncle became a bystander.

But in fact, Feng Yi didn't say much, yet every word hit the mark, sometimes surprising people, sometimes eliciting laughter, and other times making everyone embarrassed, leading to teasing.

Even Yita, who was transparent like a shadow, seemed to say a bit more in Feng Yi's presence, though it was trivial, it reflected the special charisma of his ghostly father. His vast knowledge, despite being mostly informal, was quite apt in these settings, and particularly excellent.

"Don't just drink, Brother Feng; you talked about warrior vigilance—" Xiu Yi teased in a somewhat resigned tone, "You should occasionally pay attention to your surroundings, see who's here."

"Feng Luo! You're awake."

"Mm."

"Come sit here, Iman just made some porridge for you."

Feng Luo was stunned, how on earth did his ghostly father know he was awake and wanted porridge?

Ghostly father? Emmm... internally, Feng Yi was speechless, 'Transcendence, get to know it.'

Of course, he didn't act distantly; he stood up, pulled out a seat for Feng Luo, covered half of his face with one hand, and whispered in Feng Luo's ear for almost two minutes, then suddenly retracted, mysteriously saying, "Hey, this is a secret between us."

Feng Luo nodded seriously, he indeed learned a major secret about himself and his mother.

Though it felt father and son-like, this era's Feng Yi was not much older than himself, about ten years, and he felt more like a warm, talkative next-door big brother, one who was extremely chatty, thoughtful, and had a special affection for him.

Somehow, Feng Luo suddenly no longer felt awkward, and it was a nice feeling.

This time things were much fairer, with Zhang Xiaobo's family of three at one table.

Roland and Jiu Ling at another table.

Sky Shadow, Feng Luo, and Feng Wu at another.

Xiu Yi and three others at one table.

Iman, Yita, and the Blade Warrior at one table.

Feng Yi and Eggy at one table, wait, where did the dinosaur come in? Now it's Feng Yi and Feng Luo at one table.

As for Bai Zhexian, he should disappear early as he hardly knew anyone there; he didn't come for food—undertaking this SSS mission as a senior elder of the Bounty Tribe, he truly benefited immensely, earned a ton, and even repaid Feng Yi's old favor, truly a win-win.

Even though he didn't help much, he still managed to save Feng Luo several times in critical moments.

As he drank alone, the partners from Sky City were also singing and celebrating.

The Blade Warrior boldly pulled up her sleeves, stepped on the table with one foot, and shouted in a dominant tone, "Everyone, come, come, let's raise our glasses, let's cheer for a round, the peace of the world depends on you all, and of course, also on me, hahaha…!"

Her triumphant laughter amused everyone, though they had plenty of criticisms in their heart, they decided to finish their drinks first.

Eggy was quite unhappy, "Bro, I'm a purely mechanical being, can't drink."

"Tch, there's always you, go drink some oil. Besides, you weren't even at the Double Star Battle."
