Chapter 153 Wilderness Survival 13_1

Teams in the front line were immediately distracted by the presence of two other groups led by Balun and Lao Yan. The two other teams seemed to have more members than Feng Yi's. This survival test had around 300 to 400 participants and excluding those who were already injured under special circumstances, the combined strength of both Balun and Lao Yan's army already reached around 300...

Both Balun and Lao Yan noticed the advancing line of Feng Yi's team and started waving their hands and sending hand signals. Elvis was startled and hurriedly responded with an acknowledgment gesture.

The hand signals used were simple, and Elvis wasn't familiar with much else. In a hushed tone, Elvis asked, "Who understands sign language? Anyone?"

Word got around quickly and before long, a Caucasian male student from the backlines stepped forward, "I know a bit."

"The other teams want to communicate something. It's your turn, brother."

The Caucasian male nodded in affirmation. Immediately, he started to communicate with the representatives of the two other teams through sign language. The exchange went back and forth, heads shaking and arms flailing until it got so convoluted that even he seemed lost. Some onlookers were becoming irate, "Is communicating this damn hard?"

All of a sudden, someone broke wind. The sound seemed to help the signer realize he was on a mission. Hurriedly, he signed back, "The two teams appear to suggest that we remain undetected for now. Thereafter, we should launch a surprise attack on the instructor and snatch his military knife."

"What? A surprise attack? Did I hear that right?" Mu Tou felt that achieving this task would be as hard as climbing to heaven itself, but Elvis shook his head, "What he said makes sense. If we attack alone or in groups of dozens, we stand no chance. But what if hundreds among us attack together? If we launched a surprise attack on Feng Yi..."

"Hmm..." Daphne let out a soft gasp, "Let's ask everyone's opinion. I don't mind launching a surprise attack myself but I don't want to engage in a meaningless battle."

Someone chimed in, "Yeah, just like that time we sang."

"Shut up!" Daphne's face flushed red. The memory of herself singing before the instructor was a spot of embarrassment and it's still embarrassing even in hindsight.

Everyone agreed to the plan which was to wait till the afternoon, when energy levels would be at a low, to launch the surprise attack on Feng Yi. They figured they stood a decent chance at succeeding in stealing Feng Yi's knife, especially if they had more people. They decided that they should wait further for others to join the camp. No harm waiting before they 'slaughter the pig'.

However, it tickled everyone's curiosity as to what exactly was inside the large tent? It was undoubtedly large enough to house a small fortress and comfortably accommodate hundreds.

The wait was dreadfully long. The three teams constantly exchanged hand signals until the sound of a crisp bird call caused chaos at the secret camp. In an insant, hundreds of soldiers charged towards Feng Yi. Their collective momentum was as intimidating as a victorious ace lion. Even Feng Yi, who was leisurely sipping his tea, was taken aback.

A few moments later, Feng Yi was completely surrounded on all sides. There was no escape. Honestly, Feng Yi was only keeping an eye on Xia Xinru at the intelligence officer's suggestion in case anything happened. He hadn't expected these students to launch an attack so suddenly, let alone a few hours earlier than they had planned.

Elvis hollered, "Brothers, let's get to it!"

"Hey, I don't need you to tell me," Balun wildly responded. Before Feng Yi could react, hundreds of soldiers had charged in his direction.

"Damn!"

Even with Feng Yi's prowess, the best way to escape the ambush would've been to use a leap attack. But against this many students, using such a trick would be considered cheating.

Feng Yi looked around for the best escape route but before he could find one, the charging crowd was right in front of him!

Damn, that was fast! These bastards really wanted his knife! The charging crowd looked intimidating with all teeth and claws. Feng Yi responded with two swift kicks. Although he didn't exert much force, the kicks felt hard and stiff against the students, as if he was kicking sandbags. He stumbled backwards, much to the amusement of the onlooking soldiers.

Despite their laughters, their attacks did not lag. The soldiers were already cocking their guns, loading bullets, and throwing punches and kicks with ease. Feng Yi didn't realize that these soldiers were already well-trained and had been growing stronger with every exercise, let alone during this survival test.

Daphne moved quickly. Her small stature was hidden deliberately from Feng Yi's line of sight.

Taking the opportunity while Feng Yi's attention was diverted, she made a quick swipe at Feng Yi's military knife.

Feng Yi felt a slight touch on his waist and quickly spun around, narrowly missing Daphne's swing.

Daphne had a triumphant look on her face upon seeing how flustered he was. She raised an eyebrow in a mute challenge.

Feng Yi had no time to pay her any mind. He was busy dealing with the unruly crowd. Seeing that he was ignoring her, Daphne tried to make another grab for the knife. She knew she wouldn't succeed, but she was just trying to put pressure on him.

Feng Yi felt a direct punch coming at him from Elvis, ducked, and ended up right in the path of Daphne's flying kick.

With a crisp slap, Feng Yi quickly raised his hand to block. Before he could move, he was bombarded with attacks from all sides: Balun's bear hug, Lao Yan's sweep kick, Yan Jing's crotch kick, and Jiang Yan's hit to the back of the head.

These rascals took advantage of their position at the front lines to launch close-range attacks, showing absolutely no restraint.

Trying to match these guys was beginning to present quite a challenge, but wasn't their defence increasing his skills too? The skinny camel is still bigger than the horse, and trying to take him down in one go was a pipedream. He grabbed Daphne's hand and pulled her back, causing her to fly off.

The four were unable to attack. Taking advantage of Balun's momentum, Feng Yi fell backwards, immediately launched the Thomas Cyclone Kick as his body hit the ground.

Those who attack first, controls the opponent. Those who attack last, defeats the opponent. With a few thumps, the four of them went flying back. Even so, dozens of soldiers were hot on their heels and were ready to engage En Yi.
