Chapter 142 Wilderness Survival 2_1

One team, two teams, ten teams...

As time went on, groups of three continuously stepped out from the crowd to retrieve their survival supplies. They would then join the line. Even though these highly capable warriors feared nothing, they still perked up their ears to listen carefully to each name being called. Everyone hoped to team up with a highly skilled leader. Unfortunately, the teams were assigned based on average abilities.

In a short while, more than a hundred teams had already formed a long queue. At the front of the line, Feng Yi loudly announced: "Your task is based on your professional military skills, wisdom, and experience. You'll need to find the camp's location through various clues. An additional hint for you – the place where I'll be hiding is very secretive. If you find the camp and successfully take this military knife from me..." Feng Yi repeatedly tossed the shiny knife into the air, implying that whoever or whatever group managed to take the knife from him would receive an extra reward.

Gradually closing his deep-set eyes and feeling the significant gift from his childhood memories falling into his palm, Feng Yi could not help but let his thoughts wander. His knife gleamed coldly with each swing. "The hints will be limited. The area where I'll be is a location brimming with various plants. It will be teeming with thorns and rugged vegetation, accompanied by mountains, a lakeside, and a blue sky. That's the maximum amount of information I can disclose. You will have to uncover the rest of the clues by yourselves. I will be leaving here shortly. I hope you'll be able to locate me relying on your electronic maps. Any questions?"

"No," the teams answered in unison. The volume of their response wasn't very loud, but as long as Feng Yi could hear it clearly, that was enough. A trace of satisfaction flashed on his face.

Indeed, Feng Yi was quite pleased. At least everyone remembered his advice. This was not a training ground, and thus there was no need for useless chanting. Mindlessly shouting would only expose their whereabouts, it was an unwise move. It would be better to spend more energy devising ways to complete the mission and increasing their chances of survival.

In fact, many special forces soldiers generally communicate silently through actions during missions. Their ways of communication varies, such as using signals, signs, light, or various body movements.

After issuing the commands, Feng Yi hurriedly boarded the aircraft. He needed to conduct further observations in the camp. With the engine roaring, the aircraft quickly disappeared from the crowd's view.

Arriving at the camp, Feng Yi was greeted by Weirbo, Grand, and Elvis, along with military advisors. Inside the tents were numerous intelligence operatives observing the soldiers in real-time.

Several of the military officials had come specifically to see what made this so-called Diamond Second Class Medal newcomer different from the rest. Why was he so remarkable? Why did he get to enjoy such privileges?

Weirbo laughed and said, "Ha, I think we should scatter these soldiers among the other branches, being logistic soldiers is a waste of talent." Despite this quip, the old man had to admit that he'd planned to send these logistics soldiers to the special forces. With all the funding they'd received, it would be a waste not to.

After observing for a while, amazement was evident on the other advisors' faces! From what they could see in the light screen, the logistics team had shown considerable quality. What was even more astonishing was their execution. Their general skills were powerful, and the treacherous conditions of the tropical rainforest swamps barely posed an obstacle to these soldiers.

The fat officer in glasses asked in a serious tone, "Are these students really logistics soldiers, and not weapons for fighting against Yingland?"

"How could this abysmal number take on Yingland?" The uptight officer with a square face said, "What, any problem, or..."

"No, haha, no problem. Just asking. Those students have decent abilities, I'm quite optimistic."

While the fat officer didn't look like much and held the rank of Lieutenant, he was a well-known figure in Alpha's Third Army Group's 205th Brigade's Special Operations Battalion. He ran one of the best platoons, and had earned him a second-class merit medal during the military competition. Both Feng Yi's Diamond Second Class Medal and the fat officer's Second Class Merit Medal were based on their respective achievements. When the latter said "decent", it was no small compliment.

Upon hearing the fat officer's words, Weirbo immediately laughed and dragged Feng Yi towards the tent, "Come on, youngster, let's have a good drink tonight."

The military officials around them almost broke a sweat. Didn't the old dean have any sense of propriety?

Seeing this, Feng Yi didn't refuse. He fancied a drink. He glanced at the sky, gestured to the dean to wait a moment, pulled out his knife and threw it. The knife pinned a venomous scorpion onto a tree nearby. "Drinking liqueured scorpion aids blood circulation. Have some?" As he spoke, Feng Yi had quickly stuffed the scorpion into the bottle of alcohol.

People stared in disbelief, wondering if the alcohol was even drinkable. Regardless of what others thought, Weirbo was determined not to drink.

The two of them chatted while watching the screen inside the tent, relishing in the joys of life. On the screen, more than a hundred groups were searching for the secret base. The squads vanished from each other's sight 37 minutes after Feng Yi's departure. Besides the teams that went their separate ways, a few collaborated strategically. The largest team consisted of four groups, making a team of 12, but disagreements arose after 50 minutes, and three people left in the end.

Now, besides a few teams with six and even nine people, most teams comprised of three members. Any more would affect the overall efficiency, a point all had considered. That was why most decided to go solo.

Team 91, led by Daphne was moving at an impressive speed. They had rushed ahead to Sulata Lake. After setting a plan, the three of them decided to travel by boat. This was in consideration of the threat posed by the freshwater crocodiles. Although taking a detour was possible, the three women chose to stay ahead.

Elvis was down on his luck. Due to his impressive physical strength, Team 58 ended up being matched with the weakest logistics girl. Other's quality might at least be able to assist him, but Xia Xinru was different. She was an innately beautiful mental ability user. Her physical constitution was weak as all her nutrients seemed to go to her brain.

Practically carrying the girl on his back, Elvis couldn't help but urge his bespectacled teammate: "Hurry up, man. If you can't keep up, give me your load too."

The bespectacled man was already trailing. He felt embarrassed about handing all his baggage over to Elvis. But he had to admit; he just couldn't run any further. "Brother, we're not in a rush."
