Chapter 967: The Situation Once Fell into a Stalemate _2

Not long ago, Mengdie had come to Maraca Freedom Port to find herself, with that being Feng Yi's last entrustment to Mengdie before his imminent death. He had entrusted her with the task of delivering Eggy and the Light Crystal to himself. On this matter, Sky Shadow could testify, and even Kexiao from Saudi could testify. In fact, her visit to Satellite 8 was for the purpose of seeking out Mengdie, to retrieve the Light Crystal entrusted to Mengdie by Feng Yi.

If my own words are not credible, nor those of Sky Shadow, then at least the words of Kexiao, who had recently fought with the Jade Clear Sect, should be believed. Moreover, Kexiao was known to be a proud and arrogant famous general, who would disdain any tampering in this affair.

In his speech, Blade Warrior even recounted Zhan Yu's conversation with Hugo and the others, which suggested that Mengdie might very well have been Feng Yi's woman...

This, how is this possible...

At this, John could no longer hold back, seizing the communicator abruptly, "What did you say, Mengdie is the legion commander's woman?"

"Quite possible," he replied. "I heard Zhan Yu mentioning it during the conversation on Satellite 8. The two of them may already have had intimate relations."

John's expression darkened even more as he said, "The legion commander has always been busy with important matters and kept himself clean. How could he possibly have the time for women—out of respect for your long-standing friendship with the legion commander, I do not wish to take issue with you over this, and I do not want to know about any secret dealings you have with the Jade Clear Sect."

Just then, the battleship shuddered with a thunderous vibration. The imaging device displayed that the hull had begun the docking process with a Jade Clear Sect passenger shuttle.

Seeing this, John did not hesitate to throw the communicator to Hugo and, grabbing a high-energy laser gun, dashed out without a second thought.

Blade Warrior watched somewhat absentmindedly... The situation seemed beyond salvation; John was hell-bent on killing that group of people.

"Hugo, I hope you can try to stop him from making a grave mistake."

"It's no use," Hugo shook his head, following him directly. He wasn't even sure whom to believe—whether to trust Blade Warrior, or the words said by Xiu Yi. Indeed, this woman was inherently arrogant and bitchy, yet her feelings for Feng Yi were real, and Feng Yi often indulged her too. Nonetheless, this matter was different.

Less than two minutes later, John, armed with a steel gun, charged into the crowd of detainees, frantically shouting at the nearly thousand people, "That guardian or sect leader, come out!"

Before Wu Tian could respond, an inner disciple, who simply could not bear to watch stood up and exclaimed loudly, "Let's talk this over civilly, why are you—"

Snap...

The male disciple hadn't finished his words when John blasted a hole in him with his laser, larger than a bowl and gory, without even slowing his stride as he continued towards the crowd.

Several disciples immediately wanted to take action, but seeing the laser weapons and the soldiers, whose murderous intent was palpable as they silently locked their sights on the crowd, everyone ultimately suppressed their anger and refrained from further action.

Wu Tian and the other guardians and sect leaders naturally could have left, but they never did. Wu Tian would not leave, and neither would the high ranks of the Jade Clear Sect. But who could have expected that an inner disciple would be gunned down instantly by the current legion commander of the Fiery Legion?

"I am the sect leader, Wu Tian. I have met you before. Please do not harm the innocent disciples," he said.

Upon seeing the man, John immediately initiated the meeting. At that time, it was this same elder who had come to the Fiery Legion and instructed him to remind Feng Yi to visit the Jade Clear Sect. Putting together Blade Warrior's words, there might be some hidden circumstances he was unaware of.

But John, engulfed by his rage, hardly cared about these things now. He had shared life-and-death situations with the legion commander, talked about women, dreams, the future, and the peaceful life after restoring order to Mardis. And yet, everything had vanished in an instant—all thanks to these people.

John stepped forward and grabbed Wu Tian by the collar!

How could the numerous protector-elders and disciples tolerate such insolence from John? Just as they were about to attack collectively, they were stopped by a gesture from Wu Tian, "Have you forgotten what I once said?"

"No matter if you're Wu Tian or a godless being, here, I am the heavens." John roared viciously at Wu Tian, "Tell me everything you know, the real cause of the legion general's death."

"Let go, how can the sect leader speak like this?"

John suddenly turned his head, ready to draw his gun and fire bullets of anger, but his actions were abruptly stopped by the voice of Wu Tian, "If you want to hear the truth, then stop killing people."

John flung away the corner of Wu Tian's robe violently, "Speak, I want to hear it all."

"General Feng's death indeed involves many relations with the Jade Clear Sect. The incident began a few years ago when the Zana Military Department suspected that General Feng's identity was that of the Revenge Shadow Rider and asked our Jade Clear Sect's Protector Mengdie to investigate this matter."

Thus, Wu Tian started to recount everything that had happened years ago, from Mengdie's battle with Feng Yi to the pursuit of Feng Yi's identity through the forbidden Five Elements Technique. Of course, the Jade Clear Sect did not truly wish to kill Feng Yi. Pressured by the Zana military and as a reclusive sect wishing to witness the Five Elements Technique, they had no choice but to resort to this due to Feng Yi's special status, making it impossible to find him. Who knew that the seal of the Five Elements Technique would cause Feng Yi's body to enter an endless cycle of internal conflict?

If only Feng Yi could have advanced to a slightly higher realm, the current tragedy would have been avoided. It was then that things started to change.

The relation between Mengdie and Feng Yi was even more extraordinary. During the time of war, they had helped each other break away, which the Blazing Flame Legion probably knew best, especially during Feng Yi's battle with Kexiao. And there was the highly publicized news about both Feng Yi and Kexiao perishing together at V583 asteroid region. In reality, since then, Feng Yi had been at Immortal Mountain.

As time went on, with Feng Yi's condition worsening and no drug capable of sustaining him, his personal combat strength fell drastically over time, until he reached the end of his life.

That day, Mengdie sensed Feng Yi's breath and wanted to use a version of the Five Elements Technique unknown to most to extend Feng Yi's life-force. This led to Xiu Yi witnessing that scene, wrongly believing Mengdie had killed him, when in fact, it was the opposite.

After hearing the causes and consequences of the events, John's gaze remained cold and fierce, "So, after all that talk, the cause of the legion general's death still lies with that girl—Who is Mengdie, step forward!"

With Mengdie's usual way of doing things, she would not ordinarily respond to John, but now things were different. For the sake of her sect and Wu Tian, even she had to quietly step out of the crowd upon hearing John's voice. Although her gaze was cold, her expression bore more of an unwillingness to harm her master, and a melancholy for certain matters.

This woman indeed possessed a beautiful exterior, but, unfortunately for her, John didn't fall for this kind of thing! Upon seeing this, John swung the gunstock fiercely, showing no mercy or tenderness; whether he could hit her or not was another matter, unless Mengdie, considering the bigger picture, chose not to evade...

"Wait a moment."

Just as John moved, the voice of the Blade Warrior suddenly resonated from the Light Screen projection. She indeed owed Mengdie a favor and felt obligated to say something.

"Blade Warrior, what else do you want to say?" At that moment, John's gaze towards the Blade Warrior turned even colder.

"John, have you not considered Feng Yi's feelings at all? Why did he hide all this from you, if not because he knew you best, knew you wouldn't let things go, knew the cruelty of war, and had always advised you to change your bad temper?" The Blade Warrior roared out almost in a scolding tone, "Now that Feng Yi is gone, for the sake of revenge, will you harm his woman, his friends too?"

"You think I'd believe just one side of the story?"

It was at that moment that Wu Tian spoke softly, "Protector Mengdie is already carrying General Feng's child."

John's head buzzed, "What did you say!? The, the legion general's...?"

"If you do not believe it, you are welcome to verify it through technical means." Wu Tian's face flushed red, but for the sake of the entire Jade Clear Sect, he had no other choice.
