Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 961: Retrieving the Light Crystal

"You're saying Feng Yi's death was an accident?"

"That is indeed the case. In my opinion, it would be better to turn swords into plowshares and stop fighting. It just harms the camaraderie, and besides, all of us are masters. Even if it doesn't hurt our camaraderie, hurting each other is not good either," explained the Blade Warrior with a face full of peach-blossom smiles. She secretly disdained these warmongers who were eager to fight. Even if they had to fight, they could wait until Mengdie handed over the Space Crystal.

"I don't care." The Blade Warrior was not afraid of these people. She had more than a passing relationship with Feng Yi, so naturally, there was no doubt about her words for Kexiao.

The members of the Jade Clear Sect also knew better than to press their luck. Encountering Kexiao, they could only consider themselves unlucky. His realm was not something the people present could handle, and at most they would both suffer. Given the current situation, they could only temporarily endure.

"Can you give that back to me?" Kexiao said to Mengdie.

Mengdie picked up the Space Crystal and gently shook it in front of her, as if asking, "You want this?"

Seeing Kexiao nod silently, she tossed the Space Crystal out with a flick of her hand, but no way.

Just as the Space Crystal was tossed into the air and Kexiao reached out to grab it, she unleashed a fierce palm wind, and with a sudden display of Storm Stance, she shattered the crystal into pieces. "Crack!" The Savior then vanished within the subspace...

"You!"

Who could have expected this girl to act so decisively? Zhan Yu was quite shocked. If she didn't want to give it, that was fine, but she went as far as to destroy this guy's Space Crystal. Yet, as a protector, he had no place to say anything.

Murderous intent surged in Kexiao, but upon seeing Mengdie use Storm Stance, he didn't immediately take action. "How did you come to possess Feng Yi's technique?"

"Feng Yi gave it to her," Zhan Yu said.

"What, Feng Yi actually gave his martial techniques to her?" In Kexiao's understanding, that guy was not one to act recklessly out of infatuation. This raised many questions for him.

"The young protector and Feng Yi had an extraordinary relationship. Between them, they might even have had intimate physical contact. You wouldn't go so far as to bully a young girl, would you?" Zhan Yu said indifferently.

Upon hearing this, Kexiao's mind conjured an image of himself battling Feng Yi on the Twin Stars, where it was Mengdie's intervention that forced him to retreat...

Kexiao fell silent for a long while, his murderous intent gradually fading. If Feng Yi was indeed involved with her... Never mind. With the only opponent he recognized in this world gone, what use was there left in pursuing mobile suits?

Seeing the opportunity ripe, the Blade Warrior immediately stepped forward to mediate, as the saying goes, "One does not slap a smiling face." Moreover, she had been in contact with Mengdie a few days ago, and felt that this person should be reasonable to talk to. Thus, she braved herself and said, "Miss Butterfly, do you have any other clues regarding the Time Crystal? Feng Yi had a habit, um, of often stuffing things haphazardly into Space Crystals. Could you, perhaps, take another careful look?"

She looked somewhat guilty.

Mengdie, upon hearing this, was quite open, casually taking out the Space Crystal and beginning to search thoroughly. Surprisingly, she indeed found several identical pieces in the nooks and crannies inside. One had assumed there was only one piece, but who would have thought there would be so many, all buried within.

One by one, then another and another, Mengdie stealthily took out quite a few Space Crystals, which caused Blade Warrior's eyes to sour from envy. Eggy hadn't lied—Feng Yi had apparently left her with a sizable stash. All her years of cultivation hadn't been in vain.

Mengdie considered for a moment and in the end, she kept only one crystal, arranging the rest neatly on the ground. The Space Crystals' luster became even more resplendent under the light, displaying a rainbow of arresting colors. Only then did Mengdie nod to acknowledge her before turning to check on the condition of Mingfei.

Wealthy, really wealthy; it was truly an unexpected windfall. With these Time Crystals, why take any risks? Why come to Satellite 8 to vie with those cold-blooded explorers? At that moment, Blade Warrior's first reaction was to suppress the joy on her face and quickly gather up the crystals before bidding farewell and leaving.

"What are all these?" Just as Blade Warrior was collecting the Time Crystals, Zhan Yu's unsuspecting comment made her stiffen.

"Hehe, these are experimental materials that I asked Feng Yi to bring to me," Blade Warrior replied with a smile as sunny as Ru Hua's countenance, weaving a tale in an instant. She swiftly redefined the crystals as materials—not terribly expensive but very scarce—naming a price she believed the other would accept. She claimed that if Zhan Yu, the guardian, had any, she would be willing to purchase them. She priced them even a few notches below Space Crystals, stating this entirely from Zhan Yu's perspective to avoid any complications.

Zhan Yu observed for a while, paying close attention to Blade Warrior's words while silently speculating. Eventually, with a smile, Zhan Yu admitted to not having any. After some time had passed, Blade Warrior hastily said her goodbyes to several individuals, letting them know they could visit her at Maraca's Freedom Port whenever they liked. She also exchanged contact information with Mengdie. After several minutes of beating around the bush, she managed to fend off further questions and without looking back, vanished into the forest, long since devoid of verdant foliage.

She needed to leave this place as quickly as possible, the sooner the better. Within the plans for the Paradox Engine that Feng Yi had charged her with, they were nearly coming to fruition. Having these crystals meant that traveling through time was no longer a challenge.

"What are all these?"

Just as Blade Warrior thought she was about to make her escape, a sudden voice nearly scared her half to death, "Whoa! Who is it?"

"It's me."

"Eh? Sky, Sky, Sky Shadow, weren't you already gone? Could it be that you've been following...?" Blade Warrior, pointing at Sky Shadow, found herself at a loss for words.

"Hmph, I'm just afraid you'll die," Sky Shadow said with a meaningful smile, looking as if he had seen right through her.

Actually seeing Sky Shadow, Blade Warrior secretly breathed a sigh of relief. After all, both were on the same side, and given their respective relationships with Feng Yi, theoretically this man shouldn't cause her any trouble. Besides, she knew Sky Shadow wasn't interested in money or treasures, so she didn't hide anything, summarizing her purpose here, albeit with some omissions—in fact, it was to search for Space Crystals.

Sky Shadow wasn't a fool. Since he'd followed her, he'd understand if she tried to brush him off, and he might as well confess honestly. Blade Warrior certainly didn't believe her disguise would fool Sky Shadow.

"You'd better not die here. Stay away from that bunch. There are many on this planet who are more powerful than you," Sky Shadow finally said after a moment of silent contemplation, not making things difficult for her but instead seeming genuinely concerned for her personal safety, calmly speaking.

"Many more powerful than me?"

"Yes. While I was following you, I also encountered dragons from the Bergheide Empire traveling with Duolin. Even I would struggle to defeat those two at the same time," he shared.

"I see, well, thanks for your concern, haha," Blade Warrior replied with an awkward smile.

"Don't flatter yourself. I only care about the body transplantation. Let's start as soon as this mission is over," Sky Shadow remarked with gritted teeth, thinking of Kexiao's strength.
