Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 877: Main Match Frenzy

"An excellent answer; initially, I didn't believe it either, but after some experiences, I gradually attained some enlightenment and changed my views on current theology," he remarked.

"What enlightenment was that?"

Feng Yi's thoughts flashed back to the scene when Wu Tian, through the Jade Clear Sect's treasure, foresaw future events, standing on the dual stars. Wasn't his current physical condition exactly deteriorating towards that direction? If there was any metaphysics on this earth that he believed in, Wu Tian's parable should count as one.

Feng Yi said, "I have mastered two realms that are difficult for science to explain, and my inability to provide a good answer is because human knowledge and understanding of the universe are still superficial. Current science's absolute definitions exclude most innovative thinking, yet both micro and macro perspectives, from quantum physics to Black Holes, would adequately offer an explanation when all existing physical laws fail, just like this..."

Kexiao merely listened calmly, watching as Feng Yi's body defied gravitational constraints, floated up gently from the ground at a height that wouldn't attract a pedestrian's notice, and then landed smoothly.

"As you see, I call it the Blank Paper Realm. Science cannot provide a satisfactory explanation; it's a process similar to the battle between mental magnetic fields and gravity—thus, does it pique your interest in theology?"

"Everything follows its laws." Kexiao shook his head lightly, "I don't deny the existence of many phenomena that humans can't understand. What we don't know greatly surpasses what we do. However, it's best to face it calmly and live in the present."

"Heh, that's rather calm indeed. Among the knowledge left by our ancestors, humans learned about pi, gravitational forces, and astronomical rules. We innovate and develop through the wealth of knowledge accumulated by our predecessors, stepping off the earth and into the universe—but I think human civilization is like a reckless go-getter, likely to overlook many valuable things on the way, much like an expanding universe. When expansion speed surpasses light, will we still see the last light?"

Feng Yi's profound words plunged Kexiao into a brief contemplation...

"Actually, your view isn't wrong; people often say to live in the present and look to the future. As material civilization advances, people's considerations have shifted from an initial spirit of dedication to revolving around the self—it's an era of self-interest where everyone can fill their stomachs, not suffering or starving. Yet, while we enjoy material comforts, I faintly perceive that humanity's strides are much slower."

Kexiao said, "You and I might become the creators of an era, yet we cannot control the era itself. What do you mean by 'slower'?"

"In every aspect, take the Mecha Battle tournament, for instance; the tournament itself isn't much, but nations bicker over trivial issues, wasting precious time on insignificant matters and enjoying it...when conflicts escalate, they could lead to new disputes, or relations might become rigid, or negotiations might entail compensations, or they might be settled by force, forming a vicious cycle at this wrong time...without considering solving these fundamentally, on spiritual and moral grounds, isn't this a fundamental issue that limits the pace of civilization's development?"

"And then?"

"Our development can't keep pace with destruction." Watching Kexiao's calm face, Feng Yi smiled and said, "Some people have a remarkable reach and can foresee certain future phenomena. I had received warnings from them before, and as I mentioned, initially, I wasn't convinced, but with certain things becoming likely to be confirmed (on myself), I began to harbor doubts."

If it were someone else, Kexiao clearly wouldn't waste words on such trivial matters, but Feng Yi was different. His words somewhat stirred Kexiao's serene mood, "What do you mean by 'destruction'?"

"Human extinction... Our time will end completely when the Fifth Epoch arrives, and this time is not too far from now."

"Why, then, are you telling me this?"

"I'm not sure, perhaps it's based on capability itself, or perhaps it stems from some kind of expectation. You might be the man who could turn things around."

"Aren't you too?" Kexiao's gaze revealed a hint of peculiarity; if Kexiao could turn things around, then so could Feng Yi.

"Heh, I now prefer to place greater hopes on the younger generation."

"The younger generation…?"

"Yes, a kid named Xiu Yi. Though his abilities are not outstanding, he has the heart of an innocent. Would you like to hear his story?"

Mulling over the name Xiu Yi, Kexiao shook his head lightly, "I'm not concerned with these matters."

"Quite the cold fellow, then, so be it."

"Wait a moment." Kexiao called Feng Yi to a halt, "You came here specifically to tell me these things?"

"Exactly."

Accompanied by a breeze that brushed past him, Feng Yi left silently, and as Kexiao watched his departing figure, he hesitated for quite some time...

Recording Feng Yi's words silently, Kexiao truly found him an enigmatic man. He had guessed that Feng Yi might appear at the Dragon Gate space station and even thought that Feng Yi might come to the Saudi competition area, bringing along some unimaginable issues. Yet, this issue was something Kexiao dared not even contemplate, and that was precisely the surprising aspect of Feng Yi, indeed unexpected.
