Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 873: Focus on the Zana District

With only two weeks left until the start of the competition, all major forces were busy preparing for the Mecha Battle contest.

The Federal elites were not the least bit flustered, with top warriors stationed—of course, Desert Storm only represented the independent Bounty Tribe, which was essentially no different from being affiliated with the Federation.

The difference lay in the most celebrated songstress, Athena, whose opening song was critical. In this world stage, nations showcased more than just Mecha Battles; it included the transmission of culture and the clash of technology—take logistics for example, which undoubtedly represented the level of technology.

As everyone knows, the internal makeup of a super soldier is intricate and complex; every screw has its purpose. And, with the many variables present in battle, if a mecha sustained severe damage and couldn't be properly repaired before the next fight, it would be a laughingstock to the world.

Every nation had its own unspeakable difficulties; Rekart's biggest embarrassment was the lack of top mecha pilots. For the noble comrades of the Silver Alliance, this was an eternal pain in their hearts. Although Zana also lacked such elite figures, at least they had Raymond, a top-three starter among the star generals—a point of envy for the Silver Alliance.

As time drew ever closer... civilian shuttlecraft from all countries were swarming in one direction... That place was the 17th Dragon Gate space station in Saudi.

Upon nearing Dragon Gate, many foreign tourists chose to gaze from afar, watching other flights brush past and the station's radiant halo, colorful and dazzling. It was a colossal structure spanning the starry sea, utterly magnificent.

Soon after stepping into Dragon Gate, one would find oneself completely in paradise. The area was vast and brightly lit, with luxurious shopping streets favored by young men and women, a trade center that combined entertainment and leisure, and for the food lovers and gourmands, a colorful gourmet area was the ultimate destination—one could taste delicacies from various countries, as long as they had the money.

Those expected to arrive did so one after another, and even those who shouldn't have been there had already stealthily infiltrated. As the infamous pirate king Bruce, he too wanted to experience the taste of this earthly paradise.

Hell's Gate was the first to arrive at the scene, and it was said that all four Heavenly Kings would appear in this battle. Of course, the first to make an entrance was Mirami. After spending a full half-hour getting dressed and made up, looking at her lovely reflection in the mirror, the little devil Mirami finally decided to go out for a stroll. As for where to go, that was indeed a big question, yep.

Hook up with handsome guys? Not feasible, in this day and age handsome guys were too rare, all either having synthetic faces created through technical means, or New Humans with modified cells. Just the thought of it was nauseating. Naturals like Feng Yi were too few and too far between. As for why she suddenly thought of him, that was simple—Mirami also looked forward to the chance to cross blades with Revenge Shadow Rider, even if it wasn't possible to fight, to witness his towering figure with her own eyes wasn't a bad idea.

Whoops... seems like she's gone off-topic. Where should she go for a walk now? Mirami thought long and hard, and decided to visit the nearest competition areas, yep, Zana would do, for gathering information on opponents was very important.

Gliding past the lurking Vladimir, Mirami was utterly speechless; a huge exclamation point inexplicably emerged in the void. She really didn't know what to say about this brother obsessed with his sister.

In the official Zana combat zone, Raymond had been tirelessly preparing for battle, learning techniques from the action essentials of Revenge Shadow Rider. As time went on, however, Raymond increasingly realized that learning alone wasn't enough—he had to start from the basics, namely close combat itself.

It was well-known that Mechas were originally constructed following human biomechanics. In other words, one could only reach a deeper understanding through personal physical experience.

Now, Raymond was looking for sparring partners daily, but not a single soldier could put up a decent fight—damn, they were nothing but a bunch of good-for-nothings.

Struggling to find a challenger, Raymond simply set up a sign in the Zana competition square publicly accepting challenges from all comers. Anyone who managed to defeat him would receive a bounty, and if they failed and got injured, he would take no responsibility.

Raymond, being a public figure, attracted large crowds of onlookers. Initially, the higher-ups wanted to stop him—wasn't this making a fool of oneself? But compared to the national prestige of the Mecha Battle contest, individual face seemed insignificant. After weighing things up, the Zana Military Department eventually turned a blind eye and let it be; if making a fool of himself could enhance Raymond's strength, then let him fight.

With a snort, another challenger was sent flying with a heavy punch from Raymond.

"A bunch of trash." He spat disdainfully and arrogantly turned his head away...

"Tsk tsk tsk, not much strength but quite the big talk," Mirami commented, watching Raymond's defiant demeanor. She genuinely felt annoyed and stepped forward out of the crowd with a faint smile.

"Mirami, don't meddle!" Vladimir rushed out quickly, knowing very well where they were and what it meant to challenge Raymond. However, even being a sister-obsessed brother, Vladimir simply couldn't control his sister.

"Mirami from Hell's Gate..."

Raymond enunciated each word deliberately. Why was she here? As a fellow elite from the same period and also one of the 12 star generals, they usually kept to themselves. It was one thing to fight commoners, but to speak these words in such circumstances implied a challenging tension.

The atmosphere at the scene erupted instantly, with people taking photos and discussing. The identities of the two were not unknown to the bystanders; this was clearly a rivalry beyond Mecha Battles.
