Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 841: A Head-On Confrontation

The tremor-filled void erupted with thunderous sounds as torrents of fire from the cannons vanished into oblivion, one after another. The Gatling-like rate of maximal firing enveloped the entire battlefield. As the Revenge Shadow Rider sped along, only afterimages remained where its hefty frame had passed, with only Desert Storm keeping pace. They were the brightest stars on the battlefield.

Still entangled, the two continued to restrain each other...

Chi-bang!

With the bursting of a missile combined with the main cannon's fire, a blast wave rose between them, sending both hurtling back in opposite directions...

Desert Storm quickly controlled the Mecha to tumble on the ground, seizing the moment to rapidly counterattack with several directed volleys of fire.

The Revenge Shadow Rider, meanwhile, used the momentum to backflip and follow up with another wave of suppressive fire.

Chi-chi-chi-chi-bang-bang-bang-bang...

As the smoky haze had yet to clear, a vacuum formed once again between them. Immediately following the explosion, they evolved into a static shooting stance, unleashing torrential volleys on one another like a meteor shower, constantly assaulting each other and striking a chord with the onlookers' hearts. This was an uncompromising hard fight; neither would yield in their head-to-head clash.

Inside the Mechas, various system prompts echoed constantly: no penetration, ricochet, attack neutralized, deflected, strike ineffective...

The roar of gunfire, like a steel paean, composed a melody of bullet rain under the frenzied vibrations of their frames. The smoke-enshrouded wasteland dunes had already turned black beyond recognition, with the occasional flash of the Mechas proving that the battle was far from over. Both pilots were employing textbook maneuvers of extreme difficulty to execute their maximal restraints.

They were like silently screaming, as if pouring everything they had into their attacks. Along with an astonished gasp from the Revenge Shadow Rider, the rapidly escalating hand speed instantly shot from 1.0K to 1.2K.

It was X3 Overriding. The Shadow Rider's uninterrupted barrage of bullets had transformed into a howling torrent, recklessly assaulting Desert Storm with madness—this was the Revenge Shadow Rider in a state of Maximal Outburst.

Even Desert Storm was completely engulfed by the abruptly increasing firepower. Despite the incessant trembling of the frame, his hand speed, having dropped from 1K to 800 CPS, was a constant reminder that Desert Storm's output was no match for the Revenge Shadow Rider.

In other words, while Desert Storm could increase his hand speed to 1.3K when face-to-face with Margaret, under such a level of fire suppression – even from someone of the same rank or stronger – he could very well be overwhelmed in the exchange, let alone against Revenge Shadow Rider—now, on average, by the time Desert Storm managed to return five shots, Revenge Shadow Rider had already fired seven, and this advantage was only widening as time passed...

Fortunately for Desert Storm, he boasted a top-tier defense coefficient. Although Revenge Shadow Rider was fierce in attack, Desert Storm could largely evade to the limit.

But after all, it was the Revenge Shadow Rider; a complete defense was impossible for Desert Storm.

Clang-clang-hua-bang... With constant vibrations shaking the Mecha, and the falling off of add-on armors amidst incessant alarms from the C device, the warnings were clear: Sha Meng's Mecha was in a dangerous state, and he had to avoid its weak points as much as possible.

The clothing drenched in sweat only further emphasized that Desert Storm was not having an easy time, but his eyes remained resolute.

Gang-lang, just as Feng Yi's vision went completely dark in an instant, as if even the space around him had lost its original hues—like a century-old black and white photograph—the sensory deprivation was jarring.

His body's condition, it was happening again...

Without a moment's pause, Feng Yi relied on instinct to once more launch his final assault on Desert Storm. Even though the change in the Revenge Shadow Rider was but a flicker in time, it did not escape the notice of a white-coat level pilot; such a low-level mistake shouldn't be present in front of a top-tier warrior like Revenge Shadow Rider.

At least in that instant, no fewer than a hundred people detected something amiss, whereas Desert Storm was oblivious, having been under continuous suppression with much of his focus concentrated on defense through the limited visibility within the smoky cover.

Despite this, Desert Storm was all smiles, his elated expression clear on his face, truly worthy of his title as Revenge Shadow Rider, admitting even his own attacks paled in comparison. However, the reliance in combat is never solely on sheer offense.

With a swift twist of the body, Sha Meng finally chose to raise his defense shield. Propelled by the engines, the worn Mecha executed a high-speed Z-shaped lateral movement, immediately moving to get above Revenge Shadow Rider, followed by a side kick from Alpha.

Feng Yi's senses had just begun to recover and he had no chance to dodge. He could only reflexively cross his arms to block the attack.

Bang, he was sent flying!

It was evident that this strike was no light hit, as numerous pieces of the Phantom Knight 0001's external armor fell away, and its massive frame forcibly flew away.

While flying backward, Shadow Rider braced himself with one hand on the ground. With continuous bursts from support devices, the Mecha performed a 360-degree complex spin before elegantly rising—it was clear that this had caused him little damage.

"Your suppression is decent, but your defense is a tad lacking," Desert Storm muttered to himself as he drew his Titanium Alloy blade while walking.

Hearing this, Shadow Rider gave a human-like shrug, "You're also too weak on the attack."

Their exchange was astounding—Desert Storm actually claimed that Revenge Shadow Rider's defense was lacking. With the level of defense he had just displayed, others might have been annihilated on the spot.

Shadow Rider was even harsher, bluntly stating that the attack was too weak. It's worth noting that he was up against a top-tier pilot, and one known for explosive power at that; it would be difficult to find a second person like this in the world, yet in Revenge Shadow Rider's eyes, he was considered weak. But who else could suppress him, if not Revenge Shadow Rider himself?
