Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 799: Voiceless

"He's finally gone, huh...?"

Gazing at the white mecha soaring into the sky until it vanished, Apophis's tumultuous emotions long remained unsettled...

The strength of this person nearly overturned everything Apophis had known. He had managed to hold his own against the Revenge Shadow Rider, even showing hints of putting pressure on it during the clash—though it wasn't very obvious.

Of course, Apophis hadn't noticed Mengdie's intervention. In the eyes of others, the two seemed evenly matched, but this couldn't change the fact that the white mecha was incredibly powerful.

The world is too vast, filled with surprises and hidden dragons lying in wait, so much so that even he, lauded as a talented pilot, could acutely feel how cheap and laughable the term 'genius' really was.

Apophis suddenly wondered if, aside from those top-level warriors, there existed many unknown masters, whose strength was no less than those at the top.

Perhaps because the departure of the white mecha was too abrupt, this thrilling battle had already captured the attention of those present. It wasn't until they came to their senses that they realized the Revenge Shadow Rider had also quietly departed, leaving behind a silent battlefield and the memories of the blood-stirring fight that just took place.

But this was just a minor interlude within a larger battlefield. The ground battle was still ongoing... with bullets and smoke filling the sky, still the dominant melody. This broken bridge was a key defensive area for the enemy and a main focus for both sides.

On a snow-covered pine, Mengdie slowly withdrew her seals, lowered her delicate hands, and the light at her fingertips gradually faded away... She didn't immediately flee. Her spiritual eyes slightly opened as she gazed into the distant expanse, letting the knife-sharp winds brush across her face, seemingly unsure if Kexiao had truly left.

It wasn't long before the Support Troop arrived at the nearby coordinates. However, they arrived just as the battle ended. In the midst of their busyness, the Blazing Army was taking a headcount of casualties and damage.

Within and outside the snowfield, one could see the shadows of wounded soldiers moving weakly, alongside the hurried footsteps of medics, while mechas moved back and forth transporting supplies... The sight of abandoned mechas half-buried in snow, emitting wisps of blue smoke, all spoke to the fact that the battle had ended.

The two latecomers from the Support Team not only missed the fight, they didn't even get a good rest.

The two of them emerged from their mechas and stood in a daze for a full half minute...

"Screw this support," the hefty man cursed loudly, waving his hand in anger, tossing the food prepared earlier into the snow, then went on a tirade of complaints as he began searching the nearby soldiers for a cigarette.

"Bro, you got a cig for me?"

"Sorry, I don't smoke."

Not having gone far, the hefty man shivered in the cold, hurriedly putting on his coat. "This godforsaken place must be at least minus 20 degrees. Stand a few hours and you'd freeze to death."

"Just be grateful we're not in the fight, man. Our heads are hanging by our belts, living day by day." Elvis, however, didn't seem to care, watching the fatty jump down from the mecha, he casually lit a cigarette and then tossed the pack to him.

Seeing that the battle was over, the super-soldiers of the Support Team also began to depart. Out of the six who arrived for support, now only these two older brothers remained, unsure of what to do next. They wanted to communicate with headquarters, but before they could initiate contact, they were suddenly halted by another urgent order to capture a woman in the distance.

John had just seen Mengdie on the satellite feed. Wasn't she the mysterious woman who appeared during the Mardis incident? It was said that the corps commander's condition was somehow related to this person.

Upon seeing Mengdie, John didn't think twice. He immediately issued a top-priority order through his command authority to capture the woman at any cost.

The nearby soldiers received the order at the same time, including these two.

Luckily for them, the woman displayed on the Light Screen was only about a hundred meters away. Although they couldn't see her clearly, based on the distinct attire and the not-too-distant location, they could easily ascertain it was her.

"The higher-ups have really lost their mind. It's one thing to support on the ground, but now they want the two of us to catch a girl?" The hefty man complained continuously. The two brothers were even too lazy to get back into their mechas and just walked up directly...

Elvis was also muttering under his breath... What the hell, is the Blazing Army still upholding some barbaric tradition of seizing women? Quite possible, really, for this troop does have the reputation of being a bandit legion.

But upon further thought, it didn't seem likely, as the Sky Network orders were issued with Feng Yi's highest authority, and that guy didn't seem into that sort of thing. The two walked along, headed west, discussing one random topic after another until they suddenly realized something was off. This was a battlefield, and how could a proper lady just randomly appear here?

MD, IQ minus 10. Lack of sleep these days really did lower my intelligence quite a bit.

By the time their conversation reached this point, the two men's expressions grew more and more bizarre. They were now close enough that they could faintly make out Mengdie's exquisite figure.

The two tried to step as lightly as possible, hoping to take her by surprise. Yet, as they drew closer, their eyes involuntarily widened more and more, faces filled with astonishment and unbelievable gazes.

Her strange attire was indescribable. It appeared to be a kimono on top, yet the sleeves were narrow and refined. It seemed to be makeup for traditional Chinese dresses, while the light blue skirt was very short, perfectly showcasing her long, beautiful legs. The legs were even more mysteriously alluring against the backdrop of stockings and neat little shoes, complemented by exquisite accessories, waist-length ribbons, and her demure aura. At first glance, she even had a bit of a Lolita vibe.
