The Sims: I Open the Immortal Path for All Beings

Chapter 1886: Chapters 1832–1833: Ignorant and Utterly Foolish

"What are Dongji and Gou Chen thinking? Are they still wavering?" Emperor Jade asked Great Emperor Ziwei about the thoughts of the other two Imperial Honors.

Currently, the two of them are allies, at least for now sharing common interests, and temporarily inseparable.

Besides trying to win over various forces and competing with those newly ascended Dao Lords for the alliance's leadership, they must also find ways to deepen their own power and enhance their influence.

Even if they somewhat look down upon the cautious demeanor of those newly ascended Dao Lords, the fact that these Dao Lords could form such an alliance without choosing to pledge allegiance to the veteran Daoist Monarchs proves they have some capability.

Moreover, no matter how lacking in ability, you can say their methods have some issues, but the power of a Dao Lord is undeniable. Even the weakest Dao Lord is among the pinnacle of combat power in this world.

The two of them have established themselves as Dao Lords, each wielding supreme divine abilities, qualifying them to battle veteran Daoist Monarchs, and many of these newly ascended Dao Lords are no match for them.

However, this does not mean they can easily seize control of this newly ascended Dao Lord alliance; they are still far from that. Even without considering the influence of the alliance cultivated by the opposition over many years, the pure power of several newly ascended Dao Lords combined is not something easily challenged.

Thus, Emperor Jade and Great Emperor Ziwei instinctively set their sights on the other two Imperial Honors, seeing that both Great Emperor Qinghua and Emperor Gouchen have common interest goals with them, at least regaining control of the Heavenly Court would be a substantial benefit for them.

If they can get these two Imperial Honors to join them now, it wouldn't only be a force against the veteran Daoist Monarchs but also a strengthening of their alliance group.

If the four Dao Lord-tier Imperial Honors join forces, agreeing to advance and retreat together, then they could maneuver freely within this Dao Lord alliance, whether to seize leadership of the alliance or remain independent and uninfluenced by others, it would be an excellent choice.

Although in the past there were many conflicts and contradictions between Emperor Jade and these two Imperial Honors, Great Emperor Ziwei's relationship with those two was relatively harmonious, especially when they once joined forces to balance Emperor Jade.

"Still wavering; even though many promises have been made, these two remain noncommittal." Great Emperor Ziwei recalled his discussions with these two, a slightly impatient expression appearing on his face.

Since his return to the Heavenly Court, beyond continuously eroding control over the Authority of Celestial Stars and striving to procure the allegiance of all Star Gods, he has been persistently persuading these two Imperial Honors.

Yet these two have been unyielding, or rather have refused to act without seeing concrete benefits, utterly disbelieving his various promises and simply demanding advantages.

For Great Emperor Ziwei, enduring such humiliation was beyond him, especially given his current inability to offer much. Even with valuable goods, under the fluctuating circumstances of these two, he feared he might be throwing a sausage to a dog without hope of return, making him reluctant to unveil them.

"It seems those two have quite a few thoughts in their minds?" Emperor Jade instantly understood the ideas of the two Imperial Honors.

Seeing through their intentions is quite simple, as today's situation demands it, especially concerning the stance of these two Imperial Honors; their likely pursuit of interests is apparent. Their indecision apart from trying to understand various situations, inevitably involves some prying into the intentions of others such as themselves.

"Ha, they're quite optimistic, but they're not considering whether they're qualified, negotiating with a tiger and ultimately risking being swallowed whole." Great Emperor Ziwei sneered, not optimistic about their ideas.

With regards to the thoughts of Emperor Gouchen and Great Emperor Qinghua, Great Emperor Ziwei could clearly understand; if even this point eluded him, then his position as Imperial Honors was indeed for naught.

Their beautiful ideas didn't consider the slim possibility of realization.

Initially, Great Emperor Ziwei once entertained similar thoughts, even if his status was better than that of the two Imperial Honors.

After all, he was Great Emperor Ziwei, a Vice Lord of the Heavenly Court, legitimately the successor of Emperor Jade, poised to supplement the throne should Emperor Jade encounter any unforeseen circumstances, allowing him to take over the Heavenly Court and ascend to Supreme position.

Even Great Emperor Ziwei diligently followed the plans of the Sky Mechanism Pavilion, actually seeking to fulfill this aspect, hoping eventually if Emperor Jade failed, he could replace Emperor Jade to rise to the throne of Emperor of Heaven.

However, over time, Great Emperor Ziwei recognized one thing: from the establishment of the Heavenly Court, it was destined to be a tool for those veteran Daoist Monarchs, used to govern the Divine Continent, a tool for them to seize benefits.

As for letting the Heavenly Court manage all authority, truly overseeing the Divine Land World, ruling the Realms of Heavenly Seas, these Dao Lords never harbored such notions.

They simply believed their power was insufficient, feeling the fragmented alliances were too inefficient for seizing benefits, thereby igniting the idea of establishing the Heavenly Court for plundering resources, marking their mutual compromise.

Even though nominally the Heavenly Court governs all, those high above veteran Daoist Monarchs never considered letting the Heavenly Court rule over them, and even those newly ascended Dao Lords harbor similar thoughts.
