It was finally time for me to wake back up though, I got enough rest for the night. There's still a lot for me to climb and it won't get done if I sleep a bunch.
It is definitely tempting to just sleep for a few days before continuing to clear the floors but I don't think I'll need anymore rest. One night was plenty for me, time to keep going.
Looking around I noticed that nothing really changed around here so it was just a matter of finding the door. Floors like this weren't too uncommon since the creator of this tower decided to be kind.
I began my search after that, it didn't take me very long to find the door to the next floor. It was coated with white feathers for some odd reason.
It seems pretty easy to guess what could be on the next floor. No reason to keep it waiting, I pushed the door open to the sight of blinding white lights.
Immediately it overwhelmed me but I still manage to push through it. I could feel myself entering the floor, yet there was no signs of any enemies.
There wasn't a single indication that something was going to attack me on this floor.
I don't know why I'm being given such easy floors right now... Seems I'll just have to accept it, no reason to complain about it. This just means I'll be able to get through the tower a bit easier than I expected.
The blinding light is still kind of a pain in the ass to be dealing with though.
"I didn't expect someone to arrive on my floor, it is quite rare." A woman's voice speaks loud and clear.
The light finally dies down and I can see the woman ahead. She seems to have big white wings on her back, tan skin, purple eyes, and is wearing clothes similar to the angel.
"Not everyone is strong." I respond while looking towards her.
"You definitely aren't wrong about that in the slightest. I do enjoy some company though, especially after being here alone for so long. Come take a seat." She says while gesturing towards a nice couch.
Ahead I could see a couch perfectly placed on top of a small patch of white tile with a table in front of it. Another couch was across from me as well, that was the one she took a seat on.
"I appreciate the kindness. Would you be able to tell me a bit about the floors to come?" I ask after showing my appreciation.
This is only the 44th floor so there is about 5 more before I reach the bosses floor. I'm really hoping that the information will be useful.
But then again, it might not really matter since none of them have been a big enough threat for me to stop pushing through. All of the enemies have been a joke from what I have seen.
There's been a few strong ones, but not enough to make a big difference.
"Information about the other floors is something I don't have. The higher you get, the less likely anyone will have information. It had to be done that way on purpose." She answers with a bit of disappointment.
"At least they are trying to keep some sort of challenge with this tower. Do you have a name?" I respond with a question.
"Ally. That's the name I'll give you for the time being." She answers with ease.
She doesn't seem to be a potential enemy so maybe just talking to her for a while will do me some good. I haven't really had anyone to talk to m, besides Reaver.
Reaver is basically me so I don't think that it counts.
I've literally only talked with myself... However long it's been since I started climbing the floors alone. It would probably do me some good to know how much time has passed since the climb started.
"Ally, do you know how long I've been here? Maybe it is dumb to ask you, but it is worth a shot." I question with a bit of a curious tone.
She took a moment before answering me.
"About 3 months now. I'm kind of shocked you didn't keep track of time. It helps keep a lot of people sane while clearing floors." Ally responds with a surprised look on her face.
3 months. 3 months. I haven't seen the girls in 3 months now.
Does time flow the same outside of the tower? There's so much I don't understand right now, especially when it comes to the difference in time.
Is there even a difference? If 3 months has passed since I last saw Akina, Ghost, and Velia... Do they even know if I'm alive or will they just be patiently waiting for me to return?
Gahhhh. There's no use panicking over it now, the time has already passed either way. I'll have to make it up to them when I do make my way back to the junkyard.
I'd assume that they just went back there or that Akina teleported them back.
"Sorry. Sorry. I was just a bit taken back by the amount of time that passed. I tried not to focus on the time, but I did keep track of the floors." I say with a calm tone.
"That probably helps. People go insane if they aren't keeping track of something in this tower, it is kind of a curse. It is a lot more effective if you travel alone." Ally replies.
"The curse is more effective if you travel alone or keeping track is more effective?" I question with a bit of confusion in my voice.
"The curse. It shouldn't phase a dragon like yourself very much though." Ally answers with a bit of a smile back on her face again.
It always comes back to these beings calling me out for my dragon power. The scales along my arms... I forgot all about them for a moment there.
It would make sense that she would assume that I am a dragon based on that alone. She's not really wrong either.
Technically I am capable of becoming a full dragon, I just haven't reached that point yet. I'm sure it'll happen sooner or later since I will need that kind of strength for something.
Maybe it'll be against the monarch of chaos himself.
"What are you exactly?" I ask while observing her.
"A Tower Angel. There isn't a lot of angels left so I decided to help with this place to preserve my kind." Ally answers with a sad tone.
I should've guessed that she was an angel like the one I met before. Actually, that's kind of great.
This will give me the opportunity to learn a bit more about what happened to the heavenly realm itself. Maybe she might even know if God is dead or whatever the case may be.
I'd like to know more about who is helping guide my fate right now, so that would make a big difference.
"Do you...know what happened to the heavenly realm? I heard it might've been destroyed." I ask with a nervous tone obvious in my voice.
"The heavenly realm... Yes. I suppose I could tell you all about it." Ally responds with sadness in her voice.
"If it is too much, I won't force you to tell me or anything." I reassure her.
"It just sucks losing your home, your family, everything. But someone deserves to know a lot more about what happened to the heavens." Ally replies.
I can't remember if the Angel told us anything about what happened to the heavenly realms, other than it being destroyed. Maybe he did mention the monarch of chaos being behind it, but I honestly don't remember.
So much time has passed since I last saw the Angel from the dungeon.
(Ally begins to talk about the heavenly realm)
Time doesn't flow the same for the heavens as it does for you in your world. The destruction of the heavenly realm occured about 400 years ago, roughly around 12 years ago for you.
It was a hectic time for everyone and everything since these "Monarch's" decided to show up and bring destruction to everything they saw.
The angels did their best to fight against them but ultimately they weren't enough to stop them. Even God has never seen such powerful beings, this was a first time for everyone.
It was something god saw in one of the books though, the fate of the heavens was already written.
So it didn't matter how much we tried to fight them back, because the fate was already determined from the beginning. But God seemed to be keeping a secret from us, one that we still don't know a thing about.
The Monarch's were modeled after the seven sins, except one that was never discovered. One that happened to slip away from the grasp of the chaos monarch's hands.
