From a Talentless nobody to An SSS Class Dragon

Chapter 140: Return to the Towers

The night passed with ease, no visits to the abyss or strange dreams for me to deal with. It was nice to just get through the night for once, I'm usually not that lucky.

I don't mind visiting the abyss since it is the best way for me to interact with Rika but sometimes I still feel tired after going there.

"Rokuro, the sun's coming up." Ghost speaks softly.

I opened my eyes to the sight of the sun just barely peaking in through the tent, it was nice. Waking up to the morning sun was something I could never complain about.

"Seems so. Time to get up." I respond before getting out of bed.

"Do you think everyone else is up?" Ghost asks with some curiosity in her voice.

"They might be." I answer with a bit of uncertainty.

We should be able to make it to the tower today as long as we don't run into any distractions. I'm thinking that we'll definitely meet some hunters along the way.

It's kind of impossible to resist the quest at hand since a huge amount of silvite is being offered. That'll cover most of people problems for a long time.

Someone smart can make that kind of silvite last years.

After that last thought I took a step outside the tent where Akina and Velia were already awake. Both of them seem to be chatting.

A good way to kill time until Ghost and I woke up.

"Yo. Can't say I'm supposed that you are both up before us." I speak with a laid back tone.

"I don't usually need a whole lot of sleep." Akina replies with a small smile across her face.

Velia doesn't seem to be focused on saying much but that's just how she is. Today is the day we return to the towers.

"We should get going." Velia suggests.

I can just barely hear ghost come out of the tent behind me.

"I second that. The tower is calling." Ghost chimes in, agreeing with Velia.

"Alright, let's go." I say before walking past them.

The walk towards the tower wasn't going to take that much longer since we stopped at a good spot. A couple more hours wouldn't be that bad for us anyway.

I couldn't sense any monsters around us either so we shouldn't have any distractions from them. I can barely sense any hunters around either, maybe they already entered the tower.

Remember that the tower isn't going to be the same as we remember. Akina isn't the one behind these ones, not that we know of at least.

I didn't expect it to be the same since we've already encountered someone from the previous tower. I'm just shocked we haven't seen another person from there.

The reaper guy appeared and that was about it so far. I don't really know who else we should expect or if the tower is going to be filled with people I already fought against.

Everything about these towers is still a mystery to me.

You have someone who literally makes the floors and towers with you. At some point you could probably ask her all about them.

I just didn't think she'd be willing to tell me everything about the towers since it would kill the mystery. She strikes me as the type who enjoys leaving people in suspense about stuff like that.

Not that I mind figuring it out as I go, it would be nice if she told us some shit.

"Towers directly ahead of us." Velia points out with her usual tone.

"Keep an eye out for any potential threats around the tower." I warn everyone.

It being this quiet was definitely quite odd since there was a few people that we ran into before reaching the previous tower. There's also not any hunters here for us to talk to before we enter.

I was expecting to run into at least one hunter before we got to the tower.

But instead it's completely quiet out here with no sign of any monsters or hunters in sight. Just old buildings with no real threats to them.

I'm going to assume that the hunters who came here... Are already inside if they made it here without any problems. My knowledge about the ranks of the hunters from Nyxhaven is pretty much nothing.

I don't know a thing about how strong they are or what kind of hunters hide within their guild.

"Looks like we'll have no problem entering the tower." Akina speaks up with a bit of excitement.

"Someone's excited." I reply with a bit of a teasing tone.

"It's not everyday I get to enter a tower I didn't create." Akina says while a pistol forms within her hands again.

I could finally see the stairs up to the door, we made it to the entrance of the tower after all of the shit we dealt with. This door didn't have anything special to it like some of the previous doors I've seen in the tower.

Even the previous tower had some sort of engravings and symbols around the front door.

This one didn't seem to be anything like the other one so it will definitely be quite interesting for us to head inside. I should probably lead the way so everyone knows that we are just heading right on inside.

I gestured for them to follow me as I went up the stairs. Upon reaching the door something strange happened.

A feeling that I could hardly describe was passing through me the moment I reached that door. Was it fear, evil, I couldn't figure it out.

"Here goes nothing I guess." I said as I opened the door.

The light was just as blinding as the first time I entered a tower. It was only for a few moments but then I could finally see the lobby of the tower again.

It was very similar to the previous one with an attendant standing behind the counter in the distance.
