Instigator and Protector of Violence

Chapter 255: Royal Capital Luminaries

McGowan is a very aloof, yet considerate man.

Though he doesn't say much, he doesn't make Ethan feel neglected.

His demeanor, expressions, and every small gesture along the way all took into account Ethan's feelings, giving Ethan the illusion that he was a VIP coming for an inspection.

Moreover, McGowan himself does not show any servility, truly a remarkable man.

They took the elevator to the sixth floor.

The elevator was the latest product from the electromagnetic company, as McGowan introduced before they boarded.

Ethan's reaction was relatively composed, somewhat unexpectedly.

The space on the sixth floor is not broad compared to below, but it is a completely integrated office, an independent territory.

Here, a large number of incomprehensible instruments, parts were placed, and it has a giant floor-to-ceiling window in front; standing by it, one can overlook the cityscape of the North District, where tall buildings are not abundant.

This is Azertu's office, combined with a research room.

When Ethan and the others entered, they did not see Azertu himself until McGowan gently coughed and said, "Boss, Mr. Ethan and the others have arrived."

Then, they heard a sound and saw a man suddenly stand up from a corner, looking somewhat disheveled, as if he had been repairing a machine.

"Oh, you've arrived. I just remembered a technical issue, took a look at it; you didn't wait too long, did you?"

The man, about fifty, still had quite a healthy amount of hair, though it appeared very unkempt, like it's been days since he washed it, wearing glasses and only having a research robe on him.

Azertu.

A man even more pragmatic than Ethan imagined.

"Hello, Mr. Azertu, I am Ethan Polleta."

Ethan greeted Azertu.

"Hello, hello, Ethan, finally meeting you. I'm very fond of your flushing toilet, wanted to meet you for a long time. It's wonderful you could come today."

Azertu quickly wiped his hands on his robe, then walked over briskly to shake hands with Ethan.

Ethan did not refuse.

"You are very young, it's hard to imagine someone like you having such profound thoughts; everyone is an artist, brilliantly said, just like I believe technological inventions should belong to everyone."

Azertu spoke with great emotion.

The group moved to the corner of the office, where finally a sofa and coffee table were placed to sit down and talk properly.

"Finch, truly sorry it took so long to meet you; I should have realized earlier. Your multifunctional recording and video device is excellent, absolutely revolutionary work. It's all my oversight, and I apologize to you."

Once seated, Azertu apologized to Finch.

Upon hearing this, any anger or resentment Finch may have held dissipated.

From this, Ethan could see that Azertu seemed to be the type of dedicated researcher who disregards worldly matters but is at least sincere.

"Boss, it's alright..." Finch was touched, but paused and said, "However, I've already been discussing this project with Mr. Ethan..."

"I understand; it was the company that abandoned you first, so it rightly belongs to Ethan. Telling you this is just to compensate; starting today, you are promoted to head the new direction of the electrical applications department, and I have new projects for you."

Azertu distinguished clearly between matters of principle.

Ethan merely listened on the side.

The handling outcome did not exceed his expectations; since inviting him here for a meeting, it couldn't be to take his business away.

Finch was undoubtedly the most pleasantly surprised person; he hadn't expected his hard-earned invention to be recognized and funded, his longtime rival sanctioned, and most importantly, to sit in his dream job.

Today's everything was like a dream to him.

Lightly leaving the large office on the sixth floor, now only Ethan and Azertu remained.

"Ethan, are you satisfied with such handling?"

Azertu finally asked Ethan's opinion at this point.

"This is your company; you may handle as you see fit." Ethan replied indifferently.

"I just don't want you to think I'm unreasonable because I want to make you my friend, Ethan."

Azertu said sincerely.

"Of course, I also want to make you my friend, Azertu." Ethan nodded.

With matters discussed this far, only then did McGowan, who had stayed silent, speak again.

"Mr. Ethan, the multifunctional recording and video device, including the corresponding technology, we can give it to you, but you should be aware that silent films are only in trial phase now; sound films are absolutely an unprecedented existence. This is a huge market, and we want to cooperate with you to explore this market together."

This statement made Ethan ponder briefly.

McGowan indeed had keen insight, understanding the power of sound films right away.

He is also principled, not desiring technology, only market.

The market is vast, and Ethan alone indeed would struggle to take it all.

Especially since, just starting in Royal Capital, not to mention the entire Kingdom, this market inevitably involves a national strategy.

The other party, as a major invention company, has numerous electrical inventions, many likely penetrating the entire Kingdom market.

Moreover, Azertu is a hugely influential figure, even regarded as an honored guest by the King.

Not to mention future national expansion, purely expanding the market in Royal Capital requires various connections and assistance; can't always trouble Joseph, right?

"Deal, certainly a good one, I'm at advantage."

Upon Ethan's agreement, Azertu immediately clapped his hands and stood up, beaming.

"Today is truly wonderful, meeting a good friend like Ethan and reaching such a good business deal; let's have dinner tonight; I know an excellent restaurant."

Ethan had no reason to refuse.

Following that, Azertu discussed many conceptual matters with him, particularly Ethan's surrealism and the flushing toilet.

Even Ethan couldn't see Azertu's depth in art research and didn't know his own reputation had already soared.

By virtue of his paintings, ideals, and repeated performances, he had become a true celebrity.

Or rather, a socialite.

Royal Capital socialite.
