Instigator and Protector of Violence

Chapter 211: Rolling Dice

Ethan finally chose a house located on a higher terrain by the sea in the Port District. It was on a slope, providing a view of the sea, with a relatively low surrounding housing density. It wasn't far from the port and the trade area, and getting to the Central District wouldn't take much time either.

All in all, the conditions were quite excellent.

Except that the area wasn't large enough. Compared to Bolita Manor, it was still a bit too small. Apart from an accompanying garden, there was only a two-story mansion with just five rooms in total.

The price wasn't cheap either, surprisingly costing two million Golden Rye.

However, considering the overall housing prices in the Royal Capital, Ethan still decided to buy it. He really liked the sea view outside the house.

At the same time, he also purchased two other properties elsewhere.

One was prepared for Palon and his group, and the other was kept as a backup in case more people came over from Wenster.

In the evening, Ethan returned to the hotel and had dinner with Palon and the others.

While Ethan was busy dealing with the property issues, Palon hadn't been idle.

Ethan had tasked him with gathering information.

But not information from the lower levels; rather, it was information from the upper echelons.

Just like in Wenster before, Ethan still wanted him to take the high-end route and connect with those in power or their children.

With Palon's social skills, especially with the financial support provided by Ethan, it wouldn't take too long.

"Master, today I've already registered as a member of a high-end club. Give me a bit more time, and I'll soon have a clear understanding of the situation in the Royal Capital."

Palon reported on his work, and he mentioned Haska in passing.

Honestly, Haska's appearance was indeed striking. If he could become a ladies' man in Wenster, it might still work in the Royal Capital.

A long time had passed since the incident, Sandro was dead, and Ethan no longer really intended to pursue it further.

He was simply knocking some sense into him, ensuring that he wouldn't dare harbor any ambitions of reviving the Murich Clan.

"I trust you to handle it. If you need more money, just let me know. Oh, by the way, take this key. The house is ready for you. Go check it out tomorrow. If you're not satisfied, feel free to pick a new one that suits your status."

Ethan handed Palon the key to one of the properties he had secured today.

Currently, Palon's outward identity was that of a successful businessman from Wenster, running a business in the frozen earth mine industry, with significant influence in the Northern Region.

"Thank you, Master." Palon was full of confidence, totally transformed into a different person.

After dinner, Ethan rested in his room for a while. After Herlosh handed him a list, he went out.

Looking at the list in the car, Ethan suddenly thought of something: "Should I buy a car tomorrow?"

"Hmm." Anya was in a good mood today.

Although she ultimately couldn't stop Sofia from moving over, at least they didn't have to live in Sofia's house.

Moreover, she was indeed itching to drive.

When Ethan finished going through the list, he had arrived at the place for his appointment that night—

Golden Coast Tavern.

That night, he and Carlos had arranged to have a drink together and meet some people.

When he arrived, Carlos was already drinking in the tavern.

Of course, in the Royal Capital, what the taverns sold was also grape water.

At least on the surface, all you could buy was grape water.

"You're here."

Carlos waved to indicate Ethan's arrival.

"Let's go inside."

Carlos drank the last sip of water, stood up, and led Ethan into the inner room.

The people inside were smoking, playing cards, and the room was somewhat smoky and chaotic.

The arrival of Ethan and Carlos didn't stop the card game; they just glanced up and continued.

They were playing a card game similar to Blackjack.

The game ended with the man in the main seat winning everything.

He was a man with high cheekbones, looking rather sinister and fierce.

"Hey, Carlo, want to play a few rounds?"

The man took a few puffs of smoke before greeting Ethan and Carlos.

"No, Jensen, you know my luck isn't great."

Carlos declined.

However, the man named Jensen turned his gaze to Ethan: "What about the new friend?"

Just as Carlos was about to fend off for Ethan, Ethan spoke up: "I don't really know how to play cards. How about dice? Higher or lower, I'm pretty lucky at that."

"Oh?"

Jensen raised an eyebrow, his high cheekbones suddenly looking like sharp spikes.

"Then let's play dice, come on."

With a wave of his hand, the few people playing cards with him stepped aside and someone brought over two sets of dice cups.

Carlos glanced at Ethan, and Ethan smiled at him, reassuring him.

Then he sat opposite Jensen.

Jensen picked up one of the dice cups, tilting his head as he spoke: "Shall we start?"

"Go ahead." Ethan nodded.

Then, Jensen began demonstrating his incredible dice-rolling skills, clearly a seasoned gambler.

In contrast, Ethan just gave a couple casual shakes before setting it down.

When Jensen set down his cup, he suddenly smiled and said, "Wanna bet on something?"

"Bet on what?"

"Bet on..." Jensen seemed to be thinking before exclaiming an idea, "Got it, how about betting on the hand you're holding the dice cup with?"

"Hey, Jensen!" Carlos had to intervene.

Jensen remained silent, just staring at Ethan.

Ethan nodded: "What if I win?"

"I'll give you this hand."

"Open it."

Ethan didn't object.

"You're the guest, you go first."

Ethan shrugged, indicating he didn't mind, then opened his dice cup.

Three, three, four.

Definitely not a high number.

"Wow, you're in trouble, my friend. Have you decided on the type of prosthetic?" Jensen raised an eyebrow at this number.

"I'm not too fond of prosthetics, but I'll let you have it. I actually know a great craftsman who makes excellent prosthetics. They even come with a ten-year warranty, and mentioning my name gets you a discount."

Upon hearing this, Jensen just smiled, his teeth shockingly white, combined with his high cheekbones, making him look like a vicious mutant fish.

Reveal.

Three, three, three.

Jensen had been so sure of victory he hadn't even glanced at his dice cup, waiting only for Ethan's reaction. But those around him started to lightly gasp.

Clearly, the outcome was unexpected to them, given how well they knew Jensen's skills.

Jensen himself knew even better.

Then he saw the result.

"Wow, what a shame, just missed it."

Jensen frowned, staring at Ethan.

"If you want to play another round, that's fine too. I told you my luck is good. Playing higher or lower, I've never lost. Want another round?"

"Another round." Jensen gritted his teeth before adding, "Swap the cups."
