The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 357- Girl Stuck In An Illusion

This was an unbelievable matter. If they were to believe Vaerion's words, then this was a great accomplishment for all of humanity. After all, they managed to bring down a Heavenly King, something that doesn't happen that often in human history.

If news of this got around, it could instantly alleviate the position their kingdom was in right now. The accomplishment of slaying a Heavenly King was that big.

Even the Kings and Queens of other nations, who wanted to be a part of this meeting because of getting embroiled in the matters of the Aetherion, had no choice but to recognize the incredible feat.

Everyone in the hall looked thrilled, especially the ones from the kingdom of Aeterion. The one to slay the legendary demon whose name alone was enough to evoke fear in humans was none other than the hero of their own kingdom.

It was a matter of great pride and celebration for their kingdom.

That said, this was not the only piece of good news that arrived. Another messenger hurriedly barged inside the hall and gave his report.

"Huff… Your Majesties, the Forces of Darkness on the borders are retreating. The Warlock and the Hell Marshall managed to defeat all the Demon Generals and high ranking demons that tried to invade our lands"...

"That is not all, the Holy War had also been stopped. It appeared that the Hell Marshal returned from the borders as soon as the battle there was over and intervened in the holy war".

The Holy War was the fabricated war, a ploy devised by the demons to weaken the forces of Aetherion and spread chaos and death everywhere. It was a great relief that the Hell Marshal responded in time to stop the madness.

One great news after another came in. The knights who responded to the outbreaks of the demon summoned from the gate were all victorious on their front.

This was a massive victory. Aetherion had not only survived a large scale attack from the demons that were even led by a Heavenly king, but they came out of it completely victorious.

Of course, how can there only be good news? It was at this moment that a devastating news reached the hall, which shook everyone present down to their very core.

Two of the high ranking knights who were keeping guard on the royal treasure vault were found dead in front of the door.

The one to make the report was the guard who came to deliver them the news of the attack in the capital, only to find their bodies dismembered.

"What?! The royal vault was attacked? What did they steal?"

It was redundant to even ask who did it, as it could only be demons. It was definitely their handiwork. While their attention was spread thin, they snuck into the royal vault and killed the high ranking knights who guarded the place.

As shocking as the news was, the truly shocking thing was yet to be revealed. The guard who went inside the vault to check, visibly sweated and revealed the thing that was stolen.

"The Supreme Divine Treasure has gone missing".

.

.

The place was a shabby run down shack in a village not far from the capital. One could reach this place if they travel by a high speed gondola in a couple of hours.

"Tada~ We are here!!"

A person with high spirits and goofy energy spoke. They had a clown like getup and looked harmless at a glance. However, if one thought that, they would be sorely mistaken as the clown was no person, but a mid ranking demon Jester-Jester.

"Come, come. You did a splendid job. I'm sure the master will be happy to know what you accomplished".

Nodding her head and following behind was a young girl, probably around the age of Gwen. If Reinhardt and Vaerion were here, they would be able to instantly recognize her as she was none other than the young priest who was present there with them in that cellar, trying to heal the saint of the Temple of Thousand Stars.

The latter nodded and headed in.

Inside the seemingly ordinary house, an old woman was waiting for them. She was busy knitting clothes when she heard the door being opened and faced their way. Immediately, a warm smile appeared on her face as she noticed who it was.

"Oh, if it isn't Jenea. Welcome back." Saying that, the old woman tried to get up from her chair. However, in the end due to her frail body, she ended up coughing violently.

"Grandma, are you alright?" The girl who was referred to as Jenea ran towards the old woman in concern.

"Haha, silly girl, I'm alright. More than that, are you alright? You went to the city to find work as a priest, right? How did it go?"

"Un, it went well. Thanks to Uncle Jester, I was able to land a great job in the royal palace".

"Oh, is that so?" It was for a minuscule second, but the old woman glanced at the Jester-Jester that was standing behind the girl.

"Was Uncle Jester useful?"

The girl nodded, "Uncle Jester was incredibly helpful. Not only did he know all around the city, but he also told me about a great secret that the royal family of Aetherion was trying to hide from everyone".

"Oh? What is that?"

Jenea grabbed the hands of the old woman and spoke excitedly. "Grandma, you don't have to suffer from the illness anymore. There is an incredible treasure in the vault of the royal palace that can heal any illness in this world, which even a priest is incapable of"...

"The royal family was trying to monopolize it by keeping about its existence a secret from everyone. However, thanks to Uncle Jester, I was able to find this treasure".

"Jenea, you didn't have to go this far for an old lady like me. What would have happened if you got into trouble? You shouldn't do reckless things."
