The Player's POV

Chapter 145: War [6]

"...Sir, are you really the messenger sent by the hero Dix?"

"Are you doubting my identity?"

Alaric immediately glared at the one who had just spoken - the king of the Aetherforge kingdom.

"No! I wouldn't dare!"

Making him flinch.

That looked really funny.

"All you need to know is that I was sent here to help you."

That was a blatant lie.

But all these rulers believed that lie.

And perhaps not only them, but all of humanity would believe this.

A lie was only a lie when someone recognized it as a lie.

"..."

Then, The King scanned through all the rulers presented in this room.

Although his attitude could be said to be quite bad, no one dared to complain.

They all became like students waiting to be punished.

Quite interesting.

Thanks to Alaric's appearance, the atmosphere and the way these rulers spoke had become much gentler.

After all, they had said that they would cooperate with each other before, so there was no reason for them to continue looking at each other as if they were looking at an enemy.

They were no longer enemies.

Right now, they had become allies standing on the same side.

They only had one enemy.

The demons.

The King withdrew his gaze, then slowly opened his mouth:

"I will become the commander-in-chief of this battle, is there a problem?"

"You? Commander-in-Chief?"

They began to look at him with doubtful eyes.

They probably never expected that the messenger of the hero Dix would take this role.

The Commander-in-Chief here was the one who would lead all of humanity in this battle.

Just one wrong move and many people would die forever.

This role required extremely high intelligence and leadership ability.

And could someone like Alaric take on that role?

"You doubt my ability?"

But, that was the truth.

In his previous life, he was the one who led all of humanity to victory.

…Although that victory still did not solve the problem at its root, at least they were victorious.

"…"

The five kings and the emperor still did not respond.

They glanced at each other carefully, and finally nodded.

"If you wish to take on that role, then do so."

They had to put their trust in Alaric.

After all, he was the messenger of the hero Dix.

"But… sir… we have a problem."

The King of the Sylvandar Kingdom spoke up cautiously.

The King stared at the other party.

"Speak."

"Although our rulers have agreed, we cannot be sure that our subjects will think the same."

"…"

That was what he had thought.

Indeed, what their group thought was correct.

But, so what?

"I have a way to solve that."

If judged from the perspective of a normal person, this was indeed a difficult problem.

But, if judged from another perspective, this was no different from a large-scale conflict.

It was quite similar to when children quarreled.

The only difference was that this time, the number of people quarreling was much higher.

"Heh."

In his previous life, there were times when things like this happened.

Sometimes, soldiers would quarrel over the smallest things, leading to disunity in the army.

And every time like that, he would always become a mediator.

'Hmm… What did I do at that time?'

A light flashed in The King's mind.

That's right.

"A speech."

Coincidentally, that was what Alaric was best at.

But of course, because of the time limit, he couldn't do a world tour like the stars.

So, what The King needed was…

[From Me to You.]

An Artifact.

— — — [From Me to You] — — —

— Whether you want it or not, you are forced to listen.

— With this Artifact, you can convey your inner voice to anyone you want. There is no limit to the number.

— — — — — — — — — — — — —

An Artifact that, in his previous life, he used to convey his will to fight to all of humanity.

"Do you still have that thing?"

The King asked.

The others stared at him.

"So, where is it? Don't tell me you lost it."

But, no one answered his question.

"What is that thing?"

The kings looked at each other with bewildered eyes.

"I have never heard of such a thing."

It seemed like they really didn't know about the existence of [From Me to You].

"Huh?"

But then, suddenly, Alaric's gaze stopped on the emperor of the Voidveil Empire.

Unlike the others' blank expressions, he was frowning, as if trying to recall some memory from the past.

And then, a light flashed in his eyes.

It seemed like he had realized what it was.

"I know what it is! The Voidveil Empire is holding it!"

"Oh."

The King raised his eyebrows.

Honestly, even he couldn't remember where he hid it.

But just now, this emperor had helped Alaric recall that memory.

"Take me to where it is kept."

A smile appeared on the corner of his lips.

Everything went smoother than ever.

***

In the capital of the kingdom of Eldrathor.

This place was bustling, much noisier than usual.

No one was allowed to rest.

Just now, they had received news that the military base used to fight against the demon race had been completely destroyed.

And perhaps… their next target would be them.

Life was a precious thing.

No one wanted to die.

So, right now, everyone was hurriedly preparing to flee.

But… where could they escape to?

Their enemies were demons!

And the demon race could easily find their hideout.

But, no matter what the outcome was, at this moment, everyone wanted to leave the battlefield as soon as possible.

No one wanted to participate in this battle.

"Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up! The train is about to leave! Hurry up!"

The train station was now the place where the most people gathered.

Everyone was trying to get on the train, to the point that they were ready to trample each other.

Like zombies.

"Get out!"

"I'll go first!"

In order to survive, they were willing to throw away their humanity.

But, in the next moment, they suddenly stopped all their actions.

Not a single person moved.

All the noise seemed to have evaporated from the world.

It was as if time had frozen.

And all of this was because of one reason only.

At that moment… all of humanity heard a strange voice.

— All of humanity.

And that voice… was like magic.

A magic that made all of the fear in their hearts vanish.

A magic that made all of humanity stop what they were doing.
