Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 181: Ch 181 : Madgirl Nephis

The orc charged, his heavy footfalls sending splashes of stagnant water flying. The mace came crashing down, a meteor of jagged iron aimed at turning Anaske into a red paste on the swamp floor.

But Anaske didn't move. He didn't raise a shield or draw a weapon. He simply watched the descending weapon with a placid smile.

He had spent hundreds of nights in the Divine Library, his mind a repository of thousands different martial arts techniques, each one memorized, analyzed, and perfected.

This orc's attack, for all its power, was slow, clumsy, and full of a hundred different openings.

Just as the mace was about to connect, Anaske moved. It was not a grand, flashy motion. He simply raised a hand and, with a single, elegant flick of his index finger, tapped the top of the descending mace.

The orc's world stopped. The mace, which had been hurtling downwards with the force of a falling tree, halted in mid-air as if it had struck an invisible, immovable wall.

He pushed, he roared, he strained every muscle in his powerful body, but the weapon would not move. It was held fast by the tip of a single, human finger.

"What type of sorcery is this?!" the orc screamed, his mind unable to process what was happening.

His rage boiled over, and he unleashed his innate talent. Orc's Fury!

A wave of red, berserker energy washed over him, his muscles bulging, his eyes turning bloodshot. He wrenched the mace back and, with a guttural roar, swung it again at the still-standing Anaske.

"Sorcery? Magic? I have never learned that. My body alone is enough," Anaske said. But the orc was not in his right mind enough to understand what Anaske had said; he just continued to swing the mace.

Fed up with this stubbornness, Anaske chuckled a little. "Your Orc's Fury only increases your strength by two times? Thrak's Orc's Fury is much better; he gives me a little competition with that annoying talent of his," he said, as he remembered the five-times strength increase of Thrak, the leader of the Orcs in Veridia.

He pulled out his sword and said, "Time to go, big guy." He immediately slashed the mace in half and then, with the tip of his sword, cut the thread that connected the token to the orc's waist, catching it in midair.

As soon as the token left the orc's body, he was immediately teleported back to the stand.

His Orc's Fury receded, and he shook his head as if to come to his senses.

He immediately looked around at the remaining lifeforms on his stand who had not been matched with anyone yet.

"You sure are unlucky, meeting Anaske, the leader of our Cosmic Empire, and not recognizing him," one human remarked to the orc who had just returned after elimination.

"That was Anaske? He is too strong," he nodded and then added with a resolute expression, "I will, one day, surpass him."

"Yeah, dream on," the human said casually and focused on the tournament, which was becoming more and more interesting with each passing second.

"Haha, another one," a voice chimed from the middle of a forest. The voice came from a girl who looked around twenty-four, but her real age remained unknown.

She was from the Unchained race, which was combined from the multiple demon races that had submitted to Sunny.

And she was from a royal race even among all the races of demons, a race that Diablo, the Demigod of demons, had created from his own blood.

His blood birthed demons similar to himself in physique, and they were called the Royal Demons.

This girl was named Nephis and was also known as the mischievous girl from the Western Continent.

She was personally chosen by Diablo as the future demon queen and also by Loki because her personality suited him.

Through Diablo, she gained many talents that he had copied from other demons, and from Loki, she learned the arts of mischief and stealing.

Currently, in the arena, she was doing exactly that. Whenever she saw another person, she would transform into a bird or a fly and close the gap to use her talent to steal items from that lifeform, directly taking the token.

This left the opponent unable to even react, immediately ending their journey in the Tournament of Gods.

As she walked, she was humming a song that was famous in Veridia, as it was a song linked with nature and God Cosmos himself, depicting his physical features as boundless as the Cosmos.

She pressed her token, and it showed a glowing number '14', which denoted the number of people she had eliminated so far.

She didn't know the point behind calculating it, but it was fun to increase it as much as possible.

Thus, she transformed into a very fast beast from Veridia and immediately ran at the highest speed possible with a sensory talent always checking the surroundings.

Lifeform1736: "What is this madgirl up to? She has already eliminated 14 lifeforms! And the main thing is, she didn't even lift a finger or hurt them a little. Those poor souls didn't even know how they got eliminated." This message was from a lifeform watching the match because his friend was also in that arena.

Lifeform26628: "19 eliminations? I am currently watching the arena where Anaske is. He has 9 eliminations and is currently fighting the tenth one." Such information about fights was being shared rapidly in the chat, as everyone shared the epic fight scenes from different arenas.

Lifeform727362: "It is not a fight at this point. It's like a parent teasing a toddler, taking away their toys and making them cry."

Lifeform173763: "King Anaske is already matched? Oh my Cosmos! I am his biggest fan! System, show me Anaske!"

Lifeform17372: "Why has the topic shifted to King Anaske? We should uncover how this demon eliminates so many lifeforms!"

The chat immediately ran into chaos, with each person speculating about the talent that this girl possessed, while the lifeforms from Veridia just laughed, knowing full well what this little demon could do.
