It was only after the taxi had disappeared without a trace that Wu Dahu finally came to his senses. Looking at the red bills in his hands, he counted them first, then spat on the ground in dissatisfaction.

"I heard footsteps outside," Liu Ergou explained while fixing her clothes. "Someone must be coming to look for me! Hurry, get dressed! It'll be bad if someone sees us like this!"
