Davis originally thought of picking up Bylai's group, but after he considered two matters that flashed through his mind during certain moments, he decided to go searching for the Starry Corps himself.
One was the presence of the False Harbinger Dawn.
It completely blocked the path to the Luminous Rage Shard Region, where Myria and Niera are. Naturally, if this path was blocked, the path to the Shard Region where Bylai's group was present was also subsequently blocked.
Hence, to get there, anyone must defeat the False Dawn Harbinger, but it had been completely incensed by him and refused to let anyone pass.
When he passed by the False Dawn Harbinger earlier today while flying on the Eternal Eclipse Bird, he noticed blocks of gatherings in various inconspicuous areas. Obviously, they were a group of cultivators or beasts trying to get across, but didn't dare, so they had no choice but to build a temporary settlement because of the exhaustion that stemmed from the dense air of the Shard Continent while searching for another way.
In the Luminous Rage Shard Region, where the marketplace was established, he didn't notice anyone who came from this pathway. The only ones who managed to make it to the marketplace's auction were those who had already crossed the False Dawn Harbinger's territory.
Hence, he was fairly confident that the zealots of the Starry Corps hadn't managed to cross the False Dawn Harbinger's territory as well.
Then again, the cultivators' search for another pathway wasn't fruitful from what he gathered while surveying from above. However, he couldn't be too sure. Hence, he deployed his soul body here and investigated.
No one was aware of a group who were full of Empyreans.
Hence, he was sure that the Starry Corps hadn't arrived here yet.
Secondly, he already knew where the entrance to the True Void Galaxy was when he investigated Almer Spacewill.
And Almer Spacewill had sensed him in the space-attributed High-Level Shard Region where he had found Barakiel and his own twin children, Azariel and Viridia.
This told Davis that from the entrance to the True Void Galaxy, there was a pathway to the space-attributed High-Level Shard Region, which then led to the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region and to the Shard Continent.
Hence, the Starry Corps could potentially chance upon Evelynn and the others if they traced Almer Spacewill's path. Considering the number of days passed from the time he had made Almer Spacewill commit suicide, the Starry Corps should've already chanced upon the fortress.
If they didn't do it, then there was only one pathway left for them to take, according to his calculations.
And that was this pathway, which he was currently tracing back to the entrance of the True Void Galaxy. The location of the entrance was in the Shard Continent. It was adjacent to a High-Level Shard Region that the True Void Galaxy occupied, and one that the human race's supreme geniuses didn't know of. If the Starry Corps didn't dare enter this particular High-Level Shard Region because their prowess and law comprehension were above Level 'Twelve' Empyrean Stage and couldn't risk being destroyed due to certain limitations of the Void Loom Bangle, then Davis knew he could intercept them by choosing this path.
'They definitely wouldn't possess the Void Loom Bangle to be able to make adjustments in their journey. As a suicide squad, they need to be willing to give up their lives, so the owner of the Void Loom Bangle wouldn't dare give them this treasure either, afraid that it would be lost or stolen like the Temporal Voidplane Ring…' Davis thought.
Therefore, rather than passively waiting for their attack, Davis decided to strike them first.
In the Shard Continent, he had the Eternal Eclipse Bird's power.
Even if the Starry Corps wanted to commit suicide to take him out, with the Eternal Eclipse Bird's power, they could forget about it.
'Most importantly, they should still be trying to investigate… they shouldn't know it was I who targeted Almer Spacewill… but I've been boldly wearing the Temporal Voidplane Ring, so Almer Spacewill's group might've already seen me and tried to exchange information… If my guess is correct, these two groups would be meeting somewhere in this pathway… It's not difficult to bypass the threat of the False Dawn Harbinger if it's just exchanging information from one hilltop to another in its territory…'
Davis thought more and more about the way these groups moved and felt that his conjecture could be correct.
However, he made the Eternal Eclipse Bird fly slowly.
To him, this entire area and further were uncharted territory. He didn't know what kind of dangers lay ahead. If he met a Mid-Level Primarch Stage entity, he would be screwed along with the Eternal Eclipse Bird.
He commanded the Eternal Eclipse Bird's overall size to decrease to a fifteen-meter-long wingspan and conceal its aura using its darkness energy. Although it wasn't perfect and wasn't anywhere near the quality of his concealment and Nadia's, it was better than nothing and able to remain concealed in the senses of nearly every creature under Level Two Primarch Stage.
That alone was enough for him.
Traversing over a mountain peak, he slowly descended down the slope, his perception vigilantly scanning the surroundings.
He spotted two Calamitous Entities battling to his left, destroying a hilltop that separated a continent from the other, further ahead. One appeared to be a fiery blob of meat, and the other a cold, huge mouth with terrifying razor-sharp jaws. Davis visibly frowned since he had no idea what kind of calamities these were called.
He didn't make a detour, going straight ahead.
The mountain turned a bit reddish as though it was stained with blood. It was unknown what kind of battles were fought here, but it seemed quite recent, suggesting a high number of movements in this pathway. In the next few seconds, he spotted an encampment made up of cultivators and spirits alike, making him guess they must be from the True Void Galaxy or Verdant Time Galaxy; most likely.
He slowed down the Eternal Eclipse Bird, hovering over them as he listened to their conversation.
He heard them talking about partaking in meat and sharing a Primarch Grade resource, which had increased their prowess thanks to the help of their pill master. Gathering no useful information, Davis shortly left.
He continued to come across calamitous entities or encampments such as this. Some had clearly come from the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region, hoping to explore this pathway and make bank, while others were making their way to the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region and other High-Level Shard Regions.
They exchanged information, hoping to obtain different types of resources or resources that fit their cultivation pathway.
Finally, Davis's brows narrowed since he noticed a peculiar black-robed group roasting some kind of meat in a campfire.
They concealed their auras well and shrouded their encampment in some kind of defensive formation. However, Davis's sense of danger surged when he gazed at them. They definitely weren't ordinary, leading him to believe they could be the most dangerous supreme geniuses or Divergents in the Shard Continent or simply… Level Nine Empyreans who came here to retrieve the Temporal Voidplane Ring.
He Willed the Eternal Eclipse Bird to hover above them as he remained standing on its head, looking over.
There were eight of these black-robed hooded men. He guessed all of them were Level Nine Empyreans. Even if they were not, he didn't care. They looked suspicious enough.
For a moment, he knew if he were to jump and land on the campfire, he could successfully seal them inside the Temporal Voidplane Ring within a flash. Since it was a Peak-Level Empyrean Grade Replica, it shouldn't have trouble sealing them as it expanded into a spatial dome. He could even move the Eternal Eclipse Bird there, but it was controlled by him, so there wasn't much resistance, so he didn't know for sure if Primarch Grade creatures could be sealed.
Regardless, he was sure that these Empyreans were nothing in front of it.
As he wondered how to attack them, he heard their conversation.
