The Lucky Farm Girl

Chapter 322 Resolute Intent(3)_1

"Enough!" Hang Qingming erupted for the first time ever at his mother, unable to bear it any longer, "That money was hard-earned by Ah Meng and it has nothing to do with us! Aren't you afraid that people will point at your backbone if this gets out?"

Yang Mengchen and the three others were startled, particularly Hang Zijue and Hou Jingya, who were so dumbstruck it took them a while to come to their senses.

From a young age, Hang Qingming had always been mild-mannered and refined, rarely speaking loudly, let alone having a confrontation or argument with anyone.

Now, not only was he yelling at them, he was also livid, with veins bulging on his temples and his eyes ablaze as if there were flames flickering within.

Hang Zijue's lips were tightly pursed. After all, he had no say in this household, but he felt a pang of sorrow for his son.

While gently patting Hou Jingya's back, Huang Meilin tried to softly comfort her mother-in-law, feeling anxious and blaming her for not being able to keep her cool.

She refused to believe that the "slut" hadn't left an inheritance for that "dead man"; it must be that he had hidden it. If her mother-in-law got into a dispute with the "dead man" and he refused to give up the money, neither she nor Miaomiao would receive a dime.

Fortunately, she could still file for divorce. Then she and Miaomiao could take a large sum of money and reunite with Brother Feng, and their family could live a life of wealth and glory from then on.

"You've grown up, haven't you, and now think you can talk back to me with such insolence? Why did I even give birth to such an unfilial son?" Hou Jingya, having regained her composure, began to wail as usual, "I've slaved away raising you, only to be yelled at in return. My life is so miserable!

I might as well be dead, and stop being a burden to others!" With that, she made a move as if to throw herself against the corner of the table.

Huang Meilin quickly stepped forward to embrace Hou Jingya, softly comforting her, then turned her gaze to Hang Qingming, hoping he would, as before, back down. However, seeing Hang Qingming's icy look was enough to make her shudder inwardly; she dared not urge him any further, and instead continued soothing Hou Jingya.

Watching her mother-in-law's antics, Yang Mengchen's eyes widened in disbelief, that her once elegant mother-in-law could have turned into this.

Seeing both father and son looking on coldly, entirely unlike their usual haste to apologize and acquiesce, Hou Jingya stopped her tantrum and, pointing her finger at her son, loudly questioned, "Tell me, did that woman leave you an inheritance that you're not taking?"

Hang Qingming had come back to settle his affairs once and for all and then to peacefully be with Ah Meng, so he ignored his mother's irrational fuss and took out a divorce agreement and placed it on the coffee table, looking at Huang Meilin as he coldly said, "Sign it."

Huang Meilin, standing at a distance and unable to see clearly, guessed that it must be a share transfer document from the "slut's" conglomerate, convincing herself that the "dead man" must want to transfer some shares to Miaomiao. She couldn't help but feel secretly delighted.

Letting go of Hou Jingya and walking swiftly to the coffee table, she picked up the document. Upon seeing the prominent title 'Divorce Agreement' and scanning the content quickly, Huang Meilin was shocked. Her face turned sour and her eyes blazed with anger as she glared at Hang Qingming, "You want to divorce me? And you want me and Miaomiao to leave with nothing?

Hang Qingming, your heart is so cruel! Don't forget that Miaomiao is your biological son, and you would leave him not a single penny. Are you even human?"

"What divorce? What leaving with nothing?"

Hearing Huang Meilin's accusations, Hou Jingya forgot about pressing for the inheritance and hurried over, took the paper from Huang Meilin's hand, looked through it, and charged at her son, "Miaomiao is my dear grandson, and Meilin is my good daughter-in-law. Don't you dare try to drive them out!"

While Hang Zijue preferred his former daughter-in-law, who wasn't just sweet-talk and no substance, he didn't agree with his son's actions. His grandson was his own flesh and blood, smart and sensible, and what his son was doing could hurt the boy.
