"Hey… are you okay?"
Azel could hear a muffled version of Flare's voice somewhere above him.
"Does he look like he's okay? Even my lap pillow isn't working." That was Sybil and she was still as blunt and annoyed as ever.
"Should I get a potion? That Saintess candidate, Rita is too stingy." Esme's voice this time, laced with irritation.
"Ah, I think I have a healing potion here…" Charlotte added quietly.
Azel frowned without opening his eyes.
Why were all of them here?
What were they even doing together?
He tried to move, and pain shot through his head.
He forced his eyes open. The bright ceiling made him blink a few times before his vision cleared.
He sat up slowly, looking around.
The room wasn't the burnt forest anymore. Instead, it was white and clean like a hospital or an infirmary.
"Where am I?"
"You're in the infirmary," Flare said with a smile as she saw he was doing alright.
There were two others gathered beside her… Esme and Charlotte.
Seeing them all together felt strange. "I didn't know you knew so many women."
Azel groaned and leaned back. "How did I get here?"
He barely got comfortable before realizing his head had landed on something soft… Sybil's lap.
"In the aftermath of that monster disappearing, your head hit the ground and you passed out," Sybil said, brushing his hair like it was his fault. "You should really take this seriously."
"We were all worried," Charlotte added, smiling shyly.
Esme scoffed.
"Everyone except me," she muttered, folding her arms.
Azel sighed. "Still—"
Before he could finish, Sybil shoved something into his mouth. "Eat."
"Mmf?"
"It's called a Fish Bun," she said, grinning. "Eat it so we can leave. We still have to run our experiments."
He chewed.
"Thanks," he tried to say, but it came out muffled.
Flare giggled. "He's fine now."
Soon after, one by one, they began leaving… each saying some variation of "Take care" or "Don't push yourself." He had to admit these heroines were damn cute.
When the door closed, it was just the two of them.
Azel leaned back on the pillow. "You okay… about the meadow, I mean?"
Sybil's expression softened. "The meadow?"
"Yeah. You looked pissed when you saw what that thing did."
She looked down for a moment, then crossed her arms.
"It's fine. They cleared the corpses already. Students aren't allowed near it for now… apparently, they're running 'extensive research' on the incident."
"Extensive research," he repeated flatly. "Right."
"But I'm okay," she said. "Next time I see that freak, I'll give him a piece of my mind."
"That's nice," Azel muttered.
He closed his eyes, thinking about how useless magic had been against the Skinbutcher. Holy power hadn't worked either. Even Luke's full-force explosion did nothing.
'So what can I use… aura? There was aura in the chains so I have to test that part completely… then Qi?'
He wasn't a cultivator like Feng though, to be fair, Feng wasn't much of one right now either.
'Speaking of Feng,' he thought, 'I haven't seen him in quite a while.'
He'd have to ask someone when he got home.
Before he could say anything more, the infirmary door opened with a sharp click.
A maid stepped in however she had a cold expression.
Azel recognized her immediately. She was the Head Maid from the Resonant Library.
"Misty," Sybil said dreadfully. "Come on, be gentle. I'm with the guy I like."
Misty didn't slow down.
She walked straight to Sybil, grabbed a handful of her green hair, and yanked her off the bed.
"Hey!" Sybil squeaked, flailing as she was dragged away.
"My lady, you have a scheduled study session," Misty said flatly. "If you skip again, I'll confiscate the entire-"
Sybil's eyes widened. "Alright, alright! I'll go! Stop being such a dick!"
Misty ignored her language completely.
Sybil turned back to Azel as she was pulled to the door. "We'll postpone our experiment till later, okay?"
Azel just waved lazily. "Sure thing."
And then they were gone, leaving him in silence.
…
By evening, Azel was finally cleared to leave the infirmary.
The bandage on his head still itched, but otherwise, he was fine… Besides he had even healed.
"Hopefully Medusa hasn't destroyed any stuff…" he muttered as he walked toward the mansion. Once he got there, he opened the door to admire.
The repairs were complete… the hallways were spotless again and the walls were freshly painted too, they had managed to completely fix the dents and everything.
He was almost impressed.
Turning a corner, he ran into Anya, who was carrying a basket of folded clothes.
"Hey, Anya."
She gasped, eyes wide. "My prince! Are you hurt? Why is there a bandage on your head?"
"It's nothing serious," Azel said with a tired smile. "Just a bump. I wanted to ask… have you seen Feng recently?"
Anya set the basket down, thinking for a moment.
"Oh! Yes, my lord. He said something about entering… 'closed cultivation,' I think? He told me not to disturb him. He doesn't eat or drink, so I stopped trying to feed him."
"Closed cultivation?" Azel repeated, rubbing his neck. "Right. I wonder if he's trying to break through."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small paper bag. "Here. Try this."
She peeked inside. "What is it?"
"They're called Fish Puffs."
Before he could explain, she popped one into her mouth.
Her eyes widened, and she let out a small, breathy sigh. "It tastes… so sweet…"
Azel smiled. "Glad you like it. Maybe next time we can go out and get some together?"
He had really been neglecting Veyra and Anya as of late… he had to make it up to them somehow.
Anya froze. Her face turned red as she bowed quickly. "I… I would love that, my prince!"
"Good." Azel gave her a nod. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to check my room."
She curtsied, clutching the bag of snacks like treasure. "Have a good rest, my prince!"
Azel waved and walked off and a few minutes later…
He stopped in front of his door, taking a deep breath.
He wasn't sure what to expect.
Medusa's "mood swings" were legendary by now and he was afraid to leave her alone unless she was sleeping.
'Please,' he thought, '… let my room be intact.'
He opened the door slowly.
The room was clean.
Everything looked perfect… the furniture neatly arranged and the bed looked freshly made. It was like nobody had been here.
All his clothes… shirts, jackets, even undergarments were scattered across the bed in a chaotic pile.
And in the middle of it all…
Medusa.
She was sitting cross-legged, wearing nothing but one of his old shirts, which hung loose around her shoulders.
One of her hands pressed a piece of his shirt against her face while the other was rubbing her open clit continuously…
Azel froze.
"Master~ Master please… be gentle with me~" she whimpered softly, rubbing the fabric against her cheek.
That settled it.
She was easily in the top two perverts among all his women. Maybe top one, depending on the day.
Azel covered his face with a hand and sighed. "You know what… I don't even have the energy to yell right now."
