Extra’s Rebirth: I Will Create A Good Ending For The Heroines

Chapter 242: Clone Wars [IV]

Azel and Lorraine were walking through the quiet halls of the academy now, carrying a body bag between them.

The place was empty, which made sense since everyone else was in class at this hour.

He had used ice bindings to hold the Professor in place, just to be completely sure.

They couldn't risk another clone taking him away while they were gone.

Azel sighed softly.

"I never thought I'd say this," he muttered. "But I wish I was in class with Mynes right now."

He almost laughed after saying it.

Being in a classroom alone with that annoying woman was annoying but anything sounded better than walking through these empty halls while dragging a body bag that held the clone of their professor.

Still, he knew he couldn't relax.

The situation could go bad very quickly.

'The clones could be anywhere,' he thought.

He gripped the strap of the bag tighter.

"But seriously," he asked after a moment, "why did you even have a body bag in your storage ring?"

Lorraine looked to the side.

She was holding the other strap of the bag, her fingers tightening around it.

"I helped one of my professors with transporting… erm, bodies during my first year," she said quietly.

Azel raised an eyebrow but didn't ask further.

He could tell from her face that she didn't want to talk about it.

"Alright," he said instead. "So what are we going to do now?"

"We need to figure out who can work the machine," Lorraine replied.

Azel nodded.

That was already on his mind.

"Do you know any tech experts within the academy?" he asked. "We need to tweak that device the Professor mentioned."

He'd already come up with a plan.

A good plan.

If they could get the device working across the whole academy, they could expose every clone in one go.

It was risky, but it would save countless lives. Which was why they needed to tweak the output.

Then also… Representatives had a special right within the academy, they had the right to call for a Summon.

It was a system that gathered every student, professor, and even the principal to one place, usually the grand hall where the Entrance ceremony had been held.

The Summon was only used in major emergencies and only once a year, but this was definitely one.

'If we can adjust the machine to reach the entire academy and use that crowd to bring the majority of them,' Azel thought, 'we can eliminate the strong ones in one sweep.'

From what he knew in the game, the clones liked hiding in crowds.

They mixed in easily, using chaos to their advantage.

Gathering everyone together would lure them out and that was exactly what Azel wanted.

Lorraine thought for a moment, then said, "We'll ask Silas."

"Good idea," Azel agreed.

They reached the physics lab a few minutes later.

It was one of the meeting points they had agreed on earlier.

The room was spacious and filled with strange gear metals that he had seen them use when he was on the tour.

Lorraine pushed the door open, and they both stepped inside.

Azel's eyes quickly scanned the room.

Then he spotted Silas sitting at one of the tables.

The green-haired Representative had one hand resting on his neck and the other holding a can of water.

"We're here," Lorraine said. "And we've secured Drake in this bag as well."

Azel noticed something odd.

Silas didn't look surprised or relieved.

His eyes didn't light up at the sight of them.

Instead, his fists tightened slightly around the can before he set it down.

"Is that so?" Silas asked slowly.

Azel frowned.

Something about his tone was off and Lorraine noticed it too.

"Yes," she said, watching him carefully.

"Why are you acting strange? You were the one that told us to meet here… or don't you want to kill the clones anymore?"

As she spoke, her right hand subtly moved behind her back.

She was forming a spell, preparing to strike if needed.

He didn't say anything, but he moved his own hand closer to his weapon just in case.

Lorraine's heart was beating fast. With the way he was acting… he couldn't be Silas at all…

'That's not Silas,' she thought, her eyes narrowing even more.

Then they heard a muffled sound.

It came from one of the lockers near the back of the room.

There was a weak thud and a groan.

"What was that?" Azel asked.

All three of them stared at the locker for a few seconds before it suddenly burst open.

A figure tumbled out and hit the ground hard.

It was the real Silas.

His green hair was a mess, his uniform torn, and his face bruised.

His hands were tied behind his back, his legs bound too.

A piece of gear metal had been shoved into his mouth, wrapped tightly with rope to keep him gagged.

Lorraine's stomach turned.

The fake "Silas" sitting at the table let out a horrible, screeching sound.

It was not human at all… the sound was a loud distorted noise that made both of them flinch.

The clone stood up from the chair, its movements were jerky and it was moving like a machine that hadn't been oiled in ages.

Its head tilted too far to one side, its jaw twitching as if struggling to form words.

"I want to see…" the clone hissed, its eyes glowing, "how wonderful your moans will sound while I—"

It never finished.

Azel moved before it could take another step.

He didn't even bother pulling out the gun.

Instead, a bone sword materialized in his hand and he swung once.

The clone's head was cleanly cut off, spinning in the air before hitting the floor with a dull thud.

Its body collapsed right after, blood spraying across the floor and splattering against Lorraine's boots.

She stepped back quickly, covering her mouth as the smell hit her.

"Fucking clones," Azel muttered, his voice showing his disgust.
