Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 527: Lil Angel

Chapter 527: Lil Angel

“Uh oh…” Rael muttered, glancing at the Angel Egg on the floor.

A large crack had formed out of nowhere and was spreading by the second.

“Oh? It’s already hatching?” Vatyra whistled. “I should probably go. I don’t want the angel to call me ma—”

—CRACK

Another loud crack resounded, and before Vatyra could run away to buy some milk and cigarettes, the egg fully hatched.

A dazzling white light blinded the two of them. Rael took a step back and tripped over a single rat corpse. As for Vatyra, she stood in one place, her expression stiff.

The blindness faded away fairly quickly, and the moment it did, Rael was assaulted by a gazillion pop-ups.

<Ding!>

<The Angel Egg has hatched!>

<The Angel has chosen their affinity!>

<Affinity: Time (Supreme)>

<Ding!>

<You have gained a new achievement!>

<The Father of a Time Angel (Divine): x2 Light Damage, x2 Movement Speed, 4x if there is light. Your Angel child shares your potential.>

<ERROR!>

<Measured Potential…>

<Limitless>

<Your achievement has been upgraded!>

<The Father of a Limitless Time Angel (Supreme): x10 Light Damage, x5 Movement Speed, 10x if there is light. +500% comprehension of the Law of Time. Your Angel child shares 100% of your stats.>

<Notice: The Angel born is a fully fledged angel. However, due to intense experimentation, their memories have been wiped out, rendering them the same as a slightly smarter toddler.>

“…”

F-Father?

Rael stared speechlessly at the pop-ups. He had expected the birth of an angel to be a big deal, but not this big of a deal. There was also the fact that this angel was now as strong as him, and it had unlimited potential to grow.

He gulped and lowered his gaze toward the egg. Even though the egg was small, the Angel that was born from it was anything but little.

The child had pearly white skin and platinum hair resembling Rael’s. It also had a pair of little angel wings on its back. Despite just being born, the child looked like any ordinary ten-year-old boy.

After a few brief moments, the child opened his eyes, and they were a bright crimson color just like Rael’s.

The child glanced around, and once his eyes locked onto a rat, his frown deepened.

Rael was about to speak up, but that was when the child suddenly snapped his fingers, causing a large burst of mana to leave his frail little body.

But despite that large amount, the mana was very well controlled, almost like the child was a natural-born prodigy, which, if he did share Rael’s genes in some way, might just be the case.

Aside from that, the mana enveloped one of the rats in the distance, and in less than a second, all color drained from the rat’s body as it tipped over and died on the spot.

Rael raised a brow, and upon a closer look, he realized the rat had shriveled up. It didn’t take Rael long to figure out that the child had just increased the rate at which the rat aged.

That’s pretty impressive, but… Rael trailed off as he approached the child and got down on one knee just to meet his eyes.

“Don’t go around killing things recklessly,” Rael said coldly. “Kill only if you have to kill. Uhh… This is probably not the best advice to give to a newborn, is it?”

“Move aside,” Vatyra said with a scoff and kicked Rael away, then took his place.

“Listen, kid… What Rael said was correct. Don’t recklessly use your powers like that ever again. And… if you are more powerful than the opponent, don’t kill them. Death is a mercy that enemies would take for granted—”

Rael suddenly pulled Vatyra away and held her by the collar. Surprisingly, she didn’t resist, yet her eyes were trembling uncontrollably.

“Nice pep talk,” Rael said sarcastically. “That was even worse than what I said.”

“I didn’t mean for it to come off that way…” Vatyra grumbled. “B-But let’s look on the bright side. The child was just technically born. He probably won’t remember it anyway, right?”

“Mm… Good point.” Rael nodded as the two turned back toward the child.

Unlike the previous fierce glare, there was a soft childish smile on his face as he pointed at Rael.

Phew… At least that’s—

“Papa?”

Rael froze at those words.

“Pfft…” Vatyra elbowed him teasingly.

However, before she could continue her teasing, the child pointed straight at her.

“Mama?”

“…”

A deathly silence ensued as both Rael and Vatyra exchanged conflicted glances.

Rael had a feeling something like this would happen, and even when he mentally prepared himself, it seemed like he didn’t prepare enough.

As for Vatyra, she was completely speechless. In all her years and the many memories she had made, there wasn’t a single instance where a child had called her that way.

It was cute, and her heart was practically pounding out of her chest. She had always wanted something like this, but after what happened to her husband, she was never able to have a child of her own.

But now, as she stared at the angel child, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity and warmth building up inside her.

“Let’s name him,” Vatyra insisted sternly.

Rael’s brows twitched. “Name him? You got any ideas, Miss Phoenix? The only names I can come up with off the top of my head are Steve, Robert… I’ll shut up now.”

Vatyra bonked him over the head and then puffed out her chest confidently.

“How about Cassie?”

Rael shook his head. “Sounds too feminine.”

“What’s wrong with a feminine name?” Vatyra stomped her foot on the ground, accidentally forming a giant crater in the cave.

“Nothing’s wrong with it. He just doesn’t look like a Cassie to me,” Rael reasoned.

“Okay… angel names… angel names… How about Raziel?” Vatyra crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. “Before you answer, think carefully about your excuse. Otherwise, I might just have to kill you for your insolence.”

“Kill! Kill!” the child cheered from the side, making Vatyra immediately regret her decision to mention killing.

On the other hand, Rael fell into thought for a moment. She had mentioned Raziel, and if he recalled correctly, that was the name of one of the angels from ancient mythologies.

It wasn’t a bad name, but there was one name above all of them that stood out to him, even among all the angelic names. It was also the name of an angel who governed celestial bodies.

And that name was none other than…

“How about Uriel?” Rael mumbled, meeting her gaze. “Uriel’s fine, isn’t it?”
