Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 500: Attack On The Silver Willow Tree

Chapter 500: Attack On The Silver Willow Tree

“Hm? That kid?” Tiamat tilted her head. “He’s in prison at the request of Kareth. Why? Do you wish to see him?”

“If I can, yes,” Rael replied. “I heard he’s managed to partially escape from here, so I just want to check it out and have a chat with him, you could say.”

“How do you even know about Lucien?” Vatyra chimed in, suspicious.

Rael rolled his eyes. “He reached out to me. We talked, and he tried to manipulate my memories. Frankly, I—”

“Ah, you’re right.” Tiamat stood up slowly. “Seems like there’s a gap in the barrier holding him.”

“Are you going to fix it?” Rael asked.

However, he wasn’t exactly expecting Tiamat’s next words.

“Is that your wish?”

“What…?”

“I owed two favors to Kareth. One of them was trapping Lucien, and the other you just cashed in,” Tiamat said. “For that reason, if you want me to trap Lucien again, then I’ll need something of equivalent value, which is obviously another wish of its own.”

“But with the barrier half-open, you’re not exactly trapping anybody, are you?” Rael tilted his head, puzzled. “If that’s the case, aren’t you technically going against his favor?” For original chapters go to novel•fire.net

“I’m not,” Tiamat replied, crossing her arms. “Kareth only told me to keep Lucien locked up for as long as the Willow Realm could hold him. When it is time for Lucien to leave, Kareth told me not to intervene.”

“I see…” Rael muttered. “Never mind then. I do want to see him though.”

“Sure. This is farewell then. For now at least.” Tiamat smiled and turned to Sylvia. “Lead them there. After that, don’t interrupt me. I’m going to take a quick little nap.”

“Very well, madam.” Sylvia bowed and gestured for Rael and Vatyra to follow.

Rael’s eyes lingered on Tiamat’s nonchalant figure for a few moments, but soon enough, he passed through the wooden door.

However, instead of arriving back in the forest area, he was once again at the start of the Willow Tree Realm with thousands of Willow Trees around him, and a single massive one in the back.

Sylvia started walking aimlessly, all the while leading them. But after taking exactly five steps, Sylvia halted, turning her head in Rael’s direction.

Or so he thought, but what she was actually staring at was behind him, so he turned around as well.

To his surprise, there was a large crack in the sky. Flames spewed outward, burning the nearby willow trees and melting the ground. The flames spread fast, to the point they consumed at least five willow trees per second.

And yet, the crack didn’t seem to be growing smaller. It grew larger with each Willow Tree it consumed.

Noticing this, Rael was about to send his Time Mana outward in an attempt to stop the flames from spreading further.

But it seemed like he didn’t need to as Sylvia stepped forward, walking past him and Vatyra.

Suddenly, she reached for the blindfold around her eyes and then took it off. He couldn’t see what she looked like, but what happened next shocked him.

The flames that had been devouring the willow trees halted. Then, at an extremely fast speed, the flames shot toward Sylvia. Specifically, toward her eyes.

She wasn’t burned as the flames swirled around her face before being absorbed directly into her eyes. Even the crack in the sky seemed to vanish, almost as if nothing had happened.

But the willow trees that were consumed didn’t regrow. In their place, a pond began to flow. Because so many had been consumed, the pond soon turned into a large lake.

And just like that, the destruction had finally vanished as Sylvia put her blindfold back on, then turned to them and nodded.

“It seems the prison was attacked,” Sylvia said matter-of-factly.

Rael’s brows furrowed, but right as he was about to ask her a question, she waved her hand, causing a holographic screen to appear in front of all three of them.

It displayed the outside of the Silver Willow Tree. Its leaves in particular were still on fire, and the perpetrators were none other than the robed soldiers of Aurenthia.

Yet there was one person who stood out the most, and it was Theo.

Back when Rael first met him, he seemed like a total pushover and an immature manchild. If anything, Rael didn’t have high hopes for him and instead hoped Sylas or Tyrion would take over.

However, the crown on Theo’s head said otherwise. Clearly, something had happened in the few days that he was gone which led to Theo taking the throne of Aurenthia, even if Rael technically ruled it.

But then again, these people were now trying to burn the Silver Willow Tree down. Theo was slashing at its roots in an attempt to topple the tree.

Alas, given the timing, Rael was sure that Theo and his soldiers were somehow connected to Lucien. There was a high chance he had reached out and asked Theo and his goons to free him.

However…

Chop-E… I’m not sure if you can hear me across realms, but I need you for something, Rael called out. Go to the Silver Willow Tree and kill everyone. Leave Theo alive. If he tries something funny, cut off all his limbs and wait for me to get there.

He prayed that the message had reached Chop-E, since he didn’t exactly want to send his worker constructs to deal with something like this.

And thankfully, it seemed like Chop-E heard his message loud and clear as in the next instant, a figure appeared behind the army of soldiers, wielding a black katana that pulsed a purple energy outward, slightly distorting the surroundings.

A few soldiers turned toward Chop-E, clearly not taking him seriously. Some even stashed their weapons away and approached, almost as if to pet him.

But right as the first batch of soldiers approached him, Chop-E performed a quick yet simple horizontal slash, then quickly sheathed his sword.

At first, nothing happened except the soldiers stayed in one place, unmoving.

However, that all changed when the soldier closest to Chop-E split in two, and almost as if it were a chain reaction, hundreds of soldiers collapsed as their necks were cut cleanly.

Chop-E stared at the scene with satisfaction, and almost as if he knew Rael was staring, he raised his hand, giving a thumbs up.

Seeing that, Rael let out a chuckle. He could trust Chop-E to deal with the rest of the soldiers and even Theo himself.

In the meantime, it was time he confronted Lucien.

A/N: Sorry if the pacing seems slow in this arc, my initial intention was to make it fast, but upon the introduction of the Supreme Monsters, I had to commit to it and not rush it. The pace will speed up though once this arc ends. Also, we finally reached 500 chapters, thank you to those who stuck out this far 😀
