Chapter 349: Save The World [PART 1]
“There’s nowhere left to run now, pretty boy,” Tianling said, her hand reaching toward Xiang Yu’s face.
On the other side, Li Yao already had her sword drawn and was swinging it toward Tianling with all her might. But compared to Tianling’s speed, Li Yao was moving so slowly she might as well have been standing still.
Just as Tianling’s fingers were about to make contact with Xiang Yu’s skin, she suddenly froze mid-motion. Her face twisted, flipping through thousands of different expressions in a brief moment like a bugged npc.
Then her skin began to crack, dark miasma pouring out.
Time returned to normal for Li Yao, and her sword instantly sliced through Tianling’s outstretched hand. The moment her blade connected with flesh and bone, Xiang Yu activated his domain and pulled all three of them into the void.
Now they floated in complete darkness, surrounded by nothingness that stretched endlessly in all directions.
It was then that everything began to register in Tianling’s mind. She clutched her head with her remaining hand, her body shaking violently as understanding dawned on her.
She screamed at the top of her lungs as a red aura burst from her body like flames, the force of it pushing both Xiang Yu and Li Yao away from her.
“Senior Brother, are you okay?” Li Yao asked immediately after recovering from being thrown back.
“Yeah, I’m good,” he replied, though his expression showed clear signs of strain.
“Such power,” he thought to himself. He was actually struggling to keep her contained within his domain.
His body began to emit both red and dark auras. Then his hair slowly changed color, white on one side and deep red on the other. His muscles bulged slightly but still maintained his relatively small frame.
“Is this Senior Brother’s War God form?” Li Yao wondered as she watched the transformation.
After entering this form, Xiang Yu’s strain reduced somewhat, though containing Tianling was still difficult.
They both turned their attention to Tianling, who was starting to come out of her frenzied state.
Her skin was cracked all over with dark miasma oozing out of every crack.
“Y-you bastards, what did you do?” she demanded, her expression twisted with fury as she finally let go of her head.
Her mind raced as she tried to understand what had happened. The immortal treasure was damaged. The only way for it to be damaged was if someone had destroyed the demon flowers. But not just one or two flowers, all of them would have to be destroyed at exactly the same time.
The only people capable of such a feat were probably the experts from the Central Continent. But they had been the previous owners of the treasure, so they would likely want to capture her without damaging it. Repairing an immortal treasure cost a fortune, and sometimes it was better to simply get a new one rather than fix a damaged one.
Apart from the Central Continent sects, really no one else could even come close to destroying a single flower, let alone all five at once. So who could it have been?
She looked at the smug expressions on Li Yao and Xiang Yu’s faces. “Dammit, it must’ve been them,” she thought, her anger growing even stronger.
But how had they managed it?
Her face suddenly brightened with understanding. “The clone? You have more than one clone,” she said, putting the pieces together.
Xiang Yu just smiled in response, which confirmed her suspicion and caused her rage to reach new heights.
“So what if my power has decreased? Do you think I can’t deal with two kids who are still wet behind the ears?” she shouted as she charged directly at Xiang Yu.
“She’s fast,” Xiang Yu thought as he watched her approach.
He smiled, she was indeed fast, so much faster than them in fact. But this speed was definitely manageable compared to before, when they had felt as though time froze whenever she moved. Here, even though she was still overwhelmingly quick, they felt they actually had a chance to fight back.
He glanced at Li Yao who instantly understood his intent. Without hesitation, she moved to meet Tianling head-on, her sword raised…
…
Xiang Yu and Li Yao were thrown in opposite directions, both struggling to steady themselves.
Their bodies tumbled through the void before they managed to regain control.
“Is this all you can do?” Tianling taunted.
Xiang Yu gritted his teeth as he stabilized himself. She was really strong, even while being suppressed by the void domain, she remained incredibly powerful. He estimated her power level to be at least in the Tribulation Realm. When he scanned her with the system, his suspicions were confirmed, she was at the mid-stage of Tribulation.
The difference in power was truly insane, even for someone like him and Li Yao who were invincible within the Integration Realm. Another problem was that their weapons weren’t making much difference. Even though the immortal treasure was damaged, it could still function somewhat, and she was using it to suppress their heavenly-grade weapons.
Even with all these disadvantages, he couldn’t help but smile. Looking at her carefully, she still seemed hurt from the destruction of the treasure. Even though she had used some form of regeneration ability to regrow her severed hand, the regeneration wasn’t at his level, not even close.
Xiang Yu activated his heal ability once again. Since they were all within his void domain, he could create the healing energy anywhere within the domain. This was how he had been keeping Li Yao at top condition throughout the entire fight.
Although the enemy was strong, when it came to a battle of attrition, he could do this all day. Even so, he really didn’t want this to drag on for that long. The chances of something unexpected happening would only increase as the battle continued.
“Time to go all out,” he thought to himself.
He transmitted this message to Li Yao, who nodded and readied herself for their final push.
Tianling glanced between Xiang Yu and Li Yao, watching as they recovered from the damage she had dealt to them for what felt like the hundredth time. She was now starting to seriously question what was happening here.
She thought she somewhat understood Xiang Yu – he had the phoenix bloodline after all. Even though she didn’t quite understand how he had so much energy to maintain the domain, his bloodline regeneration, his heavenly-grade weapon, and all those attacks he was constantly spamming, she could at least explain it partially.
But Li Yao was even more unbelievable. Just how did she keep doing that? This was totally against the heavenly dao. She wondered if the heavenly dao body also allowed someone to not be bound by the rules of the heavenly dao itself. If that was the case, she wanted it even more…
As she thought about this, Xiang Yu and Li Yao charged at her once again, and she readied herself to meet their attack.
She realized she wasn’t in a situation to be playing around anymore. She should end this quickly, as she was becoming weaker the longer this battle continued…
