Chapter 665: Chapter 34: Confrontation
The aftermath of the shattered barrier had yet to completely settle, the fragmented starlight drifting like fireflies. The atmosphere on the battlefield, however, was more solidified than before, as if the calm before a storm.
The three Wizards of the Tower of Order wore expressions so somber they seemed like they might drip with water. For the first time, the starlit eyes of Cyrus lost their absolute sense of control, replaced by astonishment and deep dread.
Shadow writhed uneasily around Darian, and Veronica instinctively drew her three alchemical constructs closer, their cold alchemical eyes locking tightly onto the newly appeared trio of Abbas.
“Abbas…” Cyrus’s voice was like two cold stones grinding, carrying suppressed fury, “What does Fran mean by this? Do you intend to openly intervene in the internal affairs of the Tower of Order, shielding a wanted criminal of our tower?”
He was the first to challenge, attempting to seize the moral high ground of the rules: “This man is no Saphiro! His real identity is Lynch Valen, from the Land of Ancient Ruins, a Black Wizard on the Supreme Council’s secondary most-wanted list!”
“His crimes include, but are not limited to, murder, theft of secrets, defying law enforcement! We are here executing a council-commissioned cleaning mission, reasonable and justified! Does Fran intend to shield such a criminal and oppose the order of the entire council?!”
This accusation was righteous and stern, directly painting Lynch as an unforgivable criminal, decorating the actions of the Tower of Order as justice in execution.
Confronted with this stern accusation, the faint smile on Abbas’s face did not change at all. He didn’t even look at Cyrus, but his gaze swept over the slightly disheveled yet sharp-eyed Lynch, nodding slightly, as if confirming his condition.
Only then did he leisurely turn to Cyrus, his voice calm yet carrying undeniable power: “Councilor Cyrus, I’m afraid your intelligence update is somewhat delayed.”
He raised his hand gently, and a scroll of pure energy, with complex magical patterns and Fran’s unique sigil—intertwining stars and books—unfurled slowly before him.
The words on the scroll flowed like living things, exuding an aura of utmost authoritative rules.
“Regarding Lynch Valen, also known as Saphiros Alsaas Diablo, all past actions have been reviewed by Fran’s highest council. Based on Chapter 7, Article 13 of the Supreme Code, he has been granted the highest level ’Knowledge Redemption Decree.’”
“This decree has been formally archived in the council’s records, number: FL-7332. According to this decree, all past accusations against Lynch Valen not directed at Fran or the council’s core interests have been pardoned. He is now an invited scholar of Fran, under Fran’s knowledge protection.”
Abbas’s voice echoed clearly in the silent sky, each word like a heavy hammer striking the hearts of the three Wizards of the Tower of Order.
“Knowledge Redemption Decree?!” Veronica exclaimed, her face filled with disbelief, “That’s impossible! A pardon against a secondary most-wanted must go through the council…”
“Master Veronica.” Scholar of the Boundary Roland interrupted her gently but firmly, the rules and record number scrolling swiftly in the crystal ball before him, clearly visible.
“You seem to have forgotten, the Supreme Code explicitly grants the ’Supreme Witch Domain’ the power to independently adjudicate and pardon level two and below wanted individuals who do not pose direct harm to this realm and council, with only a post-report required.”
“Fran is indeed one of the Supreme Witch Domains. Our procedures fully comply with the rules.”
All Four Great Witch Realms belong to the Supreme Witch Domains, all possessing the power of pardon.
Cyrus’s expression turned even uglier, the star trajectories around him disrupted momentarily.
He stared intently at the energy scroll, trying to find any flaws, but the Fran’s sigil and rule aura flowing on it were authentic. Fran indeed had this privilege! They had quietly completed the pardon for Lynch without anyone knowing!
“Even if… even if Fran has this privilege!” Cyrus’s voice carried a note of exasperated rasp, “Why was such a major pardon not discussed in the council? This child is entangled with countless issues, moreover concerning the Jade Land…”
“Councilor Cyrus.” Star Weaver Ithala spoke, her voice as ethereal as the starlit sky but weighted with chill, “Fran exercising its rightful powers granted by the code seemingly does not require prior notification to the Tower of Order.”
“As for the Jade Land resource ownership, that should rather be negotiated with the actual local controllers, rather than becoming your reason for openly violating rules and pursuing a pardoned individual across borders.”

Rules! Rules! Rules! Each time the Wizards of Fran spoke, they nailed the word “rules” onto the faces of the Tower of Order! Defining all their actions as baseless ruckus violating rules!
Cyrus’s chest heaved violently, his starlit eyes burning with intertwined rage and murderous intent, almost about to erupt! The aura around him once again became unstable, the immense late Domain level pressure looming faintly, as if he intended to act forcefully!
“Fran…” he spat the word through clenched teeth, “Today… have you set your heart on completely breaking with our Land of Freedom for this kid?! Have you considered the consequences?!”
His gaze, sharp as a blade, tried to penetrate Abbas’s true intentions: “What secret does this kid harbor? Worthy of you Fran sparing no cost?! Even at the expense of shattering years of our mutual understanding?!”
That’s what he most wanted to know! Lynch’s baffling rapid ascension, his multiple domains… all these reeked of strangeness! Fran’s staunch protection surely wasn’t just for any “Knowledge Redemption”!
Faced with such an open threat and inquiry, Abbas finally reined in his faint smile. His eyes turned deep and serene, like the boundless starry sky.
“Cyrus.” Abbas’s voice remained calm, but the power within caused the surrounding space to quiver slightly, “Fran acts in accordance with the ancient code and the guidance of knowledge. Our presence today isn’t for a certain individual, but to uphold the dignity of rules.”
“As for warfare…”
Abbas stepped forward lightly.
Just one step!
An indescribable, beyond Domain level will, seemingly fused with the cosmic star cycle rules, erupted quietly like a suddenly awake star river, pervading silently!
Facing this will, the late Domain pressure around Cyrus was like a firefly compared to the bright moon, instantly suppressed, encompassed, assimilated! Rendered insignificant!
Cyrus, Darian, and Veronica’s faces turned pale instantly! They felt their domains shivering under this will, even their spiritual power stagnated! That was an absolute disparity in life levels!
“Rule Wizard…” Cyrus’s throat was dry.
Abbas regarded them calmly, his voice as eternal as the starry rhythm: “If the Land of Freedom insists on violating the rules…”
He paused, his tone still unhurried yet carrying an ice-cold chill capable of freezing the soul:
“Then, Fran doesn’t mind… personally upholding the rules.”
A threat! A bare-faced, supported by absolute power threat!
Cyrus’s expression was ever-changing, a mix of anger, reluctance, and fear. Darian behind him subtly tugged his robe sleeve, a very slight spiritual undulation emerging from the shadows: “My lord…”
Veronica also pressed her lips tightly, though her eyes were full of reluctance, she dared not make any further moves. In the face of an apparent Rule Wizard’s absolute power, any resistance seemed laughable and futile.
Silence, a suffocating silence enveloped the sky. Below, only the uncontrollably modified Banshees were still screeching and circling mindlessly.
After a long while, the terrifying aura around Cyrus receded like a tidal wave. He took a deep, deep look at Abbas, then scanned Lynch like a venomous snake, as if to etch his appearance deep into his soul.
“Very well… Very well! Fran… the events of today, the Tower of Order will remember!” His voice was hoarse and cold, filled with humiliation and hatred, “Let’s go!”
Saying this, he swung a sleeve fiercely, with a flash of starlight around him, along with Darian, Veronica, and the three alchemical constructs, turned into three streaks of light, rushing headlong towards the distant sea of clouds, not looking back.
