Chapter 531 - 26: Advancement Rune Power

Chapter 531: Chapter 26: Advancement, Rune Power

The situation was not much different from what Lynch had anticipated.

After unlocking the tenth Mystical Circuit and mastering [Mimicry], Lynch was finally able to accommodate higher-level rune knowledge. Based on the continuous excavation and accumulation of this knowledge, he quickly elevated his Second Tier Rune Power to the max level.

At this point,

he broke through the last layer of shackles endowed by Rune Power to a higher level—

Mystical Secrets!

Feiyan City, Light Square. Wizard Calendar Year 10145, late spring. ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by noⅴelfire.net

The wear and tear of the three-year war did not leave many traces in Feiyan City, but the tension in the air and the desire for power were even greater than before. The stone altar on the eastern side of the square, which once caused a massive sensation, had now been completely transformed.

The new altar is larger in scale and more complex in structure. Intricate patterns are engraved on the obsidian base, surpassing the past in the level of detail, with spiraling lines and geometric nodes intertwining to vaguely form a three-dimensional nested energy circuit.

The center of the altar was no longer a simple platform but a series of pillars forged from some kind of energy crystal, with several core rune stones floating at the top, slowly rotating and emitting a golden liquid-like glow. The entire altar exudes a solemn, heavy aura with a hidden terrifying explosive force, merely approaching it makes ordinary people’s skin tingle slightly.

The square was already a sea of people, more crowded than at the first ceremony years ago.

Adventurers, city defense soldiers, and even many civilians craned their necks, eyes burning, focusing on the altar.

The air was filled with excited whispers, nervous breaths, and incredulous discussions. The announcement had spread throughout the city—

the Guardian had completed a miraculous breakthrough! The altar would bestow higher-level transcendent power!

Over the years, the Extraordinary Altar had become well-known in Lynch’s Witch Domain, experienced by the knight order, adventurers, and even ordinary people who have tasted transcendent power.

However, because of energy limitations, even the most powerful Great Knight could only reach about 300 degrees of Rune Power through Extraordinary Endowment, roughly equivalent to an intermediary wizard level.

For ordinary humans, such a level of power is already unimaginable, which is precisely why hearing of an even higher-level Extraordinary Endowment has everyone eagerly anticipating.

“What kind of transcendent power is it?”

“Look at those runes! They’re more than ten times more complex than last time! That light… I feel my heart beating with it!”

“I heard this time, there are only three spots! Chosen ones!”

“Look! The Saintess and Archbishop have arrived!”

Amidst the crowd’s commotion, Julia and Saul arrived together again. As those who wield faith within the city, the new Extraordinary Endowment still began with the Church Court.

Julia had a cold and aloof expression, the golden edge lining of her pure white Saintess garb gleaming in the sunlight. Despite her inner disdain for the Light Goddess, her external appearance was quite fitting for the role of a Saintess.

Saul’s red robe appeared especially solemn under the sun, his face bearing a gentle yet undeniable authority.

Behind them were figures shrouded in a heavy atmosphere, wearing rune robes—

these were Rune Masters.

In fact, they were a group of Wizard Apprentices specially studying Rune Studies, formed because Lynch needed a large number of people to perform Extraordinary Endowment.

With everyone’s arrival, the curtain of this extraordinary ceremony was officially drawn.

“The first one!” a high-level Rune Master proclaimed loudly, his voice penetrating the entire venue, “’Shadow Crow’ team leader—Schneider!”

This name provoked an even greater exclamation! Schneider!

“A member of the ’Shadow Crow’ adventurer team! A Diamond-level Adventurer, with Great Knight level strength, having gone through an Extraordinary Transformation to hold the power equivalent to a Mid-level Wizard, he is an adventurer who utilizes transcendent strength to perfection.”

Three years ago, in the ambush battle in Ashen Creek Valley, he made contributions relying on basic Rune Power, but met a tragic death under the enemy wizard’s lightning.

Everyone thought he was dead! Is he really still alive? And chosen as the first to receive advanced transcendent power?

A figure walked out from behind the altar, steps steady and powerful. It was indeed Schneider! His face appeared much more haggard than three years ago, a grim scar ran from his temple to his jawline, and his left sleeve hung empty.

Yet, his eyes were sharp like that of an eagle, filled with a resolute desire for power that could only have been forged in hell and ascended from it. He stepped onto the center of the altar, standing amidst the rune pillars.

“Schneider… it really is him!”

“He survived! And is given this opportunity!”

“His arm… my God, can he withstand the Endowment of transcendent power?”

Julia and Saul exchanged a glance, nodding slightly.

Saul stepped forward, his voice gentle yet powerful: “Schneider, the Guardian has witnessed your sacrifices and resilience. Today, the Light of Guardian will illuminate your path, granting you the power needed to protect Feiyan and maintain order. Are you ready?”

Schneider took a deep breath, his remaining right hand clenching into a fist, his scarred face showing no hesitation, only a determination as if burning, “For revenge! For protection! I am ready!”

Julia spoke no further. She, Saul, and the high-level Rune Masters stood at the predetermined nodes around the altar.

Julia formed a complex and sacred seal with her hands, Saul began to chant an ancient prayer in a low voice, and the high-level Rune Masters placed their hands on the crucial rune nodes of the altar’s base, pouring in vast spiritual power.

“Buzz—!”

The altar shook violently! All the patterns on the obsidian base were instantly illuminated, flowing with a deep azure glow.

The rune stones atop the central crystal pillars burst forth with blinding golden light, spinning faster! The golden liquid-like radiance flowed down like a living creature, rapidly spreading along the complex grooves on the pillar’s surface, enveloping Schneider in an instant!

This time, it’s no longer a gentle imprint!

“Ugh—!”

Schneider let out an uncontrollable cry of pain! The golden brilliance did not merely act on the surface of his skin but, like billions of searing golden needles, violently pierced into every inch of his muscles, bones, blood vessels, and even the deepest part of his soul!

His body trembled violently in the golden light, the empty sleeve flapping as if unseen forces were reshaping his broken body.

Beneath the exposed skin of his body, no longer were there simple blue patterns, but a mysterious and complex dark golden three-dimensional rune network emerged. These runes seemed to possess life, traveling, colliding, and reorganizing within his body, each flicker accompanied by a heart-stopping energy fluctuation!

Seeing these mysterious and complex rune networks, the several transcendent individuals of wizard level present, including Julia, were all taken aback.

Before this, they only knew that Lynch had modified and upgraded the Extraordinary Altar, enabling it to bestow higher-level power, but they never imagined that this power would be—
