Chapter 495: Chapter 27: The Oil Painting
“Well then, everyone is welcome to join next time…”
After the auction process ended, the wizards in the hall below gradually left the venue, and the large venue was quickly emptied, leaving only the box area upstairs.
Lynch and Kalsa continued to sit in the box for a while, discussing the items they each purchased.
Besides Lynch, the other two mystical wizards also had their own substantial gains in this gathering.
Witch Kalsa bought a high-level ice element magic material, the Ice Point Flower. This unusual magic material is said to be cultivated over a long period in a near absolute zero environment, inherently containing extremely powerful ice energy, which is very helpful for Kalsa’s cultivation.
This was the most expensive item Witch Kalsa purchased, costing 9.8 million. Although not as extravagant as Lynch, it was still a considerable amount, the most expensive item among Kalsa’s purchases.
Baggen bought the blood of a high-level great demon, a hidden demon. This monster from the Hell Plane has no clan development in the Wizard Plane, and since the Age of Gods ended, it’s been almost extinct, with only a sparse few able to traverse the river of time for various reasons, scattered across the world, holding high research value.
Baggen also spent over 8 million to buy this great demon. Lynch wasn’t entirely sure what he planned to use it for, though things like this were mostly used for experiments, so it was probably one of the experimental materials.
They waited in the box for more than ten minutes, and after a while, a wizard from the Clophes family came in.
“The wizards’ gathering has concluded here. Next is for the mystical ones. Please follow me, respected ones.”
Lynch and the others stood up and followed the wizard outside.
They ascended a spiral staircase to the third floor, then passed through a corridor, reaching its end.
There were no rooms here, only a giant oil painting hung at the end.
This was a peculiar oil painting, depicting a beautiful and exquisite manor. The lush green lawn was planted with myriad colorful exotic flowers, and a pebbled path stretched straight forward, leading directly to the white main building at the end.
There were some figures in the garden, walking back and forth with large scissors, trimming the flowerbeds on the lawn. However, upon closer observation, these figures were actually humanoid mechanical devices, with the large scissors being clearly their hands.
Alive?
It was quite astonishing that everything in this oil painting was moving, as though the whole painting was alive.
“Please follow me.”
The Clophes wizard approached the oil painting and stepped forward…
It seemed like a small step, but his step passed through the painting, and he appeared inside the painting on the pebbled path as a character like himself.
Lynch and nearby Kalsa and Baggen exchanged a glance, then walked forward and stepped into the painting just like the wizard before.
It felt like merely a small step, yet as their vision cleared, he found himself inside the painting.
Lynch curiously observed his surroundings.
’Space Magic? Instant teleportation? No… none of those feel right. It’s more like…’
’Space Crack!’
The sensation of stepping into the oil painting was unmistakably the same as when he entered the blood-colored battlefield in the Ancient Ruins. Clearly, this place was also within an independent space crack.
The experienced Baggen immediately recognized their location as well. Stroking his red beard, he said, “Such a stable space crack.”
Small space cracks are often marked by characteristics like instability and fragility. If it’s like the secondary cracks established upon the primary material space in a place like the underground city, that’s somewhat manageable. But one that’s completely independent is quite rare.
“Please, this way.”
Continuing along the pebbled road, Lynch kept observing the surroundings.
This space seemed to lack distinction between day and night, resembling a haze, like clouds floating overhead.
Though there was no sun or celestial body, it was curiously always bright here, like daytime. And more strangely, there was no visible light source, as if the objects themselves emitted light. Official source is noⅴelfire.net
These are the rules.
Independent dimension spaces often possess their own set of rules, unlike other dimension spaces. For example, in one such space, people can float in the air, or in another, water can flow upwards.
Constrainingly, some dimension spaces even allow time rules to be distorted, making individuals in the space eternally existent or trapped in endless loops of time.
Lynch once heard Wizard Somda mention visiting a dimension space with twisted time, where each resident had their own time loop, including one who repeatedly died and resurrected every few minutes—quite magical.
This dimension space wasn’t as bizarre, but undoubtedly had its own set of rules.
Passing the pebbled road, they arrived in the big house, and in the hall on the first floor, several figures had already gathered. Judging by their spiritual fields, they were clearly characters of the secret skill level, like him.
Lynch was observing everyone, when suddenly he felt a sharp gaze sweep over him, enveloping him. He turned to see a young man.
Appearance-wise, he seemed around thirty years old, entirely shrouded in a pristine white cloak, his skin unusually pale, as though it had a layer of white paint.
He seemed to have a grudge against Lynch, locking eyes with him since Lynch stepped into the house, with clear malice in his gaze, which Lynch could see even clearer in his soul vision.
Baggen leaned towards Lynch’s ear, softly reminding, “This is the Witch Master of the Pure White Tower, Anderson, and beside him is the Witch Master of the Forest Surroundings, Kano Wizard.”
Lynch raised his eyebrows.
Ah, is this the Pure White Tower that’s repeatedly making trouble for me?
Meanwhile, Anderson and Kano Wizard were already approaching Lynch.
As they came close, Anderson put on a false smile, “Saphieros Wizard?”
