Diary of a Dead Wizard

Chapter 988: Fifth Target Achieved

“Yura is very fond of this color.”

The two left the stargate and returned to the Star Observatory Tower.

Saul rubbed his forehead. After learning that Lady Yura was actually a soul fragment that Master Gorsa had prepared for himself long ago, he could no longer look directly at this name.

“Please don’t pass the blame to Yura.”

“Blame? Heh, cauldron?”

The two stood in the room where Alick had originally been.

Gorsa raised his hand and lightly traced, and the entire room’s gravity returned to normal.

He had no intention of staring at the stargate.

“I thought you called me over because you wanted to kill Alick.” Gorsa walked up and unceremoniously pulled over Alick’s reclining chair, lying down on it.

But as soon as he lay down, he found it uncomfortable. Black shadows swept over the chair, directly pulling it into the floor’s shadow where it disappeared.

Gorsa then took out his beloved giant pink sofa and collapsed onto it again.

The huge, soft pink sofa was completely out of place with Alick’s room decorations, but neither of the two people present cared about such things.

“Without destroying a fourth-rank wizard’s foundation, you can’t completely kill them. And just killing Alick once would be energy-consuming and not worth the gain.” Saul was also unceremonious, taking out the pink sofa Gorsa had given him, though his sitting posture was somewhat more proper than Gorsa’s.

“So dealing with a mere third-rank and completely offending Alick was worth the loss?”

Great, just after advancing to fourth rank, third-ranks had become “mere third-ranks.”

Saul rolled his eyes internally.

“Alick has more important matters to handle, and I’m not afraid of him either. Besides, didn’t you arrive just in time?”

Actually, when Saul went back to deliver the Chaos Realm Compass to Keli, he had visited the recuperating Gorsa together with Keli.

At that time, Gorsa still looked like a puddle.

But not long after Saul returned, he received a letter from Keli saying that the “puddle” had mostly recovered. If Saul encountered any difficulties at the Stargate Council, he could immediately ask for help.

When Saul learned that Alick was leaving tonight, he immediately found an opportunity to leave the Star Observatory Tower, then used the Prismatic Channel to have Shaya notify Master Gorsa.

The Master must have teleported all the way here to arrive in time at midnight according to the coordinates Saul had left.

Although the Stargate Council tried hard to hide the spatial fissure’s location, Saul, who had attached fate lines to Meurich, quickly determined the position.

In any case, Alick had left, and Meurich’s soul had entered the diary. After Saul used the Dead Wizard’s Diary to excavate all of Meurich’s knowledge and secrets, he would naturally let him drift away with the wind.

“By the way, last time you mentioned a method that could establish a connection between us and enhance each other’s strength.” Master Gorsa suddenly brought up another matter—something Saul had mentioned before he risked going to the Abyssal Eye.

“Yes.” Saul was startled, not expecting Master Gorsa to suddenly bring this up.

“Can this connection still be established now?”

Saul suddenly raised his head.

Master Gorsa actually wanted to actively become his fifth target?

The usually languid Gorsa slowly but firmly sat up straight from the sofa, placing his elbows on his knees with fingers interlaced.

“Alick has left. Before and after the Abyssal Eye completely erupts, he’s unlikely to return. And old Norton… he won’t be able to hold on much longer either.”

“Saul, I will simultaneously take over the Stargate Council and the Glare Family. Moreover, I can tell you right now that when facing the black tide, Iskaper Continent will definitely not stand idly by as before. I will take the initiative to attack, even if it causes massive casualties.”

“I need to enhance my strength as much as possible. And you—your power no longer belongs to that of a third-rank wizard. Except for not being able to resurrect at will, you’re already stronger than Ophelia. And your advancement speed… is a speed that even terrifies me.”

“So, I hope to gain support from your power. In equal exchange, the entire Stargate Council will also fully support your research and battles.”

Gorsa had already witnessed the Soul-Fixed Army designed by Keli and Brando in the Chaos Realm.

Although it was currently only a small-scale force, once the numbers increased, it would be a terrifying army.

And this was just one aspect of the power Saul controlled.

For so many years, he had focused solely on personal strength and knowledge improvement, neglecting the importance of collective combat power. But after returning from the Abyssal Eye, he understood that such an abyss absolutely couldn’t be defeated by a single powerful fourth-rank.

Having understood the enemy’s strength, Gorsa immediately changed his plans. He rapidly recovered his own power, directly absorbing back the Yura soul fragment he had cultivated for so long to ensure his mental power returned to peak condition.

At the same time, this time when he came to Iskaper, he would no longer fight alone. The entire continent’s resources would become chess pieces in his hands.

And simultaneously, he was also willing to become Saul’s chess piece!

“You’ve dropped a bombshell on me right after returning.” Saul’s heart surged with excitement, and he couldn’t help but stand up from the sofa.

Honestly speaking, when it came to courting death, to repeatedly dancing on the edge of a blade, who could compare to Gorsa?

Saul could almost see the fate lines jumping like an electrocardiogram above Gorsa.

“Of course it’s possible, Master!” Saul agreed almost without hesitation. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡•𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚•𝙣𝙚𝙩

He had initially considered Douglas, but the latter’s purposes were unclear and difficult to control, so Saul had never made a decision.

But for Master Gorsa to actively propose becoming the fifth target and forming an offensive-defensive alliance with Saul—he naturally wouldn’t refuse.

After all, Gorsa was now the only official fourth-rank wizard remaining in Iskaper. And he would soon take over two top-tier wizard organizations, the Glare Family and Stargate Council. Saul would definitely gain a massive amount of destiny power again!

His strength, as well as the strength of all Symphony of Fate targets, would receive a qualitative improvement!

That night, five dazzling red lights suddenly burst from the topmost floating layer of the Star Observatory Tower, then the red lights drilled back into the building’s interior.

Because of the extremely high location, almost no one discovered the changes here.

Only a few people silently noticed this fleeting firework in the deepest darkness before dawn.

The fifth target of the Symphony of Fate was finally achieved!

In the darkness, Kismet sat on the roof of a three-story building, sporadically playing the silver harp in his hands.

When the red light pillars appeared, he suddenly looked up, but only saw thick cloud layers.

After being stunned for just a moment, Kismet again expressionlessly lowered his head, plucking out the next clear, pleasant string sound.

Below Kismet’s feet, several low-rank wizards were mechanically moving about in the room.

These people seemed to have lost consciousness, becoming marionettes, drawing complex and mysterious magical arrays on the ground.

Each time they completed a set of complete composite rune groups, they would remove an organ from their chest cavity and place it on the array, until they could no longer persist and became empty shell corpses.

Then another person would appear, drag away the corpse, and continue the array-drawing work.

A figure suddenly appeared behind Kismet.

“Your progress is much slower than Ophelia’s.”

Douglas walked to the edge of the eaves, standing with his hands behind his back.

“What’s the rush? Whether it’s sooner or later, we’ll all reach the ending anyway.”
