Upon getting up, Qin Xue first checked the table, and indeed there was a note. “Sure, I understand. Go ahead, I want meat,” Xue Ling said. As a fox fairy, meat is its preferred sustenance.

“I know, probably only I can afford to feed you. Nobody else could manage it.” Qin Xue took a quick glance at Xue Ling, who was a picky eater, always selecting the best food.

“Come in,” came the voice of the director after he heard the knock at the door.

“Hello, may I ask if you’re the director?” Qin Xue asked the middle-aged man, who looked about fifty, sitting behind the desk.

“I am the director, Gong Yuliang. What can I do for you?” Gong Yuliang looked up at Qin Xue.

“Hello, Director Gong. I received a notice to take an examination. I am Qin Xue. Could you please inform me about the examination process?”

“You’re Qin Xue?” Gong Wuyou asked, assessing Qin Xue. Was this the person Ye Xuan had specifically called him about? She seemed young. How capable was she?

“Yes, I am Qin Xue,” responded Qin Xue while standing there, allowing Gong Yuliang to assess her.

“Could you wait a moment? I need to finish these documents then I’ll take you there,” Gong Yuliang glanced at the documents he was holding – he needed to sign these as a matter of urgency, so Qin Xue would need to wait.

“Sure, please go ahead with your work, I will wait,” responded Qin Xue, quite okay with a little wait.
