Li An’an Looked puzzled. “You’ve bought so many things again?”
Li Cheng and the bodyguard put down the bags and left.
Li An’an opened a bag and looked inside. They were all children’s clothes. Not only Baobao’s, but Jùnjùn and Junjun’s clothes as well! There were even gaments for spring, summer, autumn, and winter!
What was wrong with Chu Yichen? It was summer now and he’d bought winter wear! He’d been behaving abnormally in the recent days. Had something or someone provoked him?
She concluded that he was probably yearning for a child of his own! Or he could be entering menopause!
Chu Yichen didn’t answer her question, so Li An’an had no choice but to move all the clothes to the children’s room. Otherwise, no one would be able to sit on the sofa. However, Junjun and Jùnjùn’s room wasn’t big to begin with, and in addition to the pile of toys, it became crowded. She planned to empty the room that Auntie Li used to stay in, and turn it into the storage space for the children’s clothes and toys.
When she came out after putting the clothes away, she saw Junjun and Jùnjùn sitting on the sofa obediently with Chu Yichen, who was leaning back in the seat. The three of them looked very reserved. Baobao, on the other hand, was very happily crawling around!
Fortunately, Junjun and Jùnjùn had their masks on still. However, their slightly curled mouths made it seem like they were not used to it. Because Daddy’s expression was a little serious, they did not dare to fidget. When they saw their mommy coming out, the two little guys quickly ran to her side.
Actually, Daddy had sent loads of toys to kindergarten today. There were also many good books. All the other children were green with envy and the three of them had been feeling proud all day.
Chu Yichen smiled warmly when he saw their reactions. “I was thinking about work just then and was a little engrossed. I must have scared them. Let’s eat!” He stood up and removed the boys’ hands from Li An’an’s apron. He carried them, one in each arm, and put them on the dining chairs. His expression was very gentle.
Junjun and Jùnjùn started to look more relaxed, and their tiny rosy mouths even broke out in smiles beneath the masks.
Baobao jumped up and down on the sofa, exclaiming, “Daddy, Baobao wishes to be carried too!”
Chu Yichen put Junjun and Jùnjùn down and placed Baobao on the dining chair.
Li An’an served the dishes and placed the pastries she had brought from the Han Family on a plate.
Chu Yichen filled the bowls with rice for the three little ones, picked up some braised pork for them and started to eat.
The strange feeling growing within Li An’an intensified. Was Chu Yichen possessed by some sort of paternal spirit today? He had done such a good job at coaxing the children. She had not noticed his talent in this area before today.
“Where did the pastries come from?” Chu Yichen could tell that these pastries were expensive. But more importantly, these were not pastries that one could buy easily. His mother often got people to deliver them. That century-old shop specialized in supplying such pastries to wealthy families.
“I went to the Han family today. They gave it to me before I left!”
Chu Yichen knew that Li An’an had saved Han Dongwei’s granddaughter, so he immediately dismissed all thoughts of dumping the pastries into the trash can. As long as they weren’t from that man!
“Don’t do such dangerous things again! Think of them!” Chu Yichen did not really approve of her jumping in to rescue someone, and what more without any safety measures in place.
“I didn’t think too much about it at the time!” Li An’an casually replied, “Don’t worry, I’m a good swimmer!”
There was a stream in front of her old home. She had been a good swimmer since she was young.
“Mommy, the meat is delicious!” Baobao looked up from the bowl. Li An’an was so shocked that she dropped her chopsticks.
The air froze for a moment.
Chu Yichen lowered his head as if he didn’t hear anything. Li An’an turned around stiffly and saw that he was on the phone.
She heaved a sigh of relief.. Thank goodness! She hurriedly shot Baobao a look, but the little fellow was like a little piglet, eating happily and throwing everything else to the back of her mind!
