Chapter 1847: Chapter 1847: No Appreciation at All
Jian Dan pulled the girl along as they ran out of the nightclub. When they reached a deserted area, the girl finally shook off Jian Dan’s hand, looked at him coldly, and said, "Who are you? Why are you meddling in my business?"
"If you really didn’t want me to interfere, you would have shaken me off the moment I pulled you away. Why wait until now? By shaking me off now, it only proves that you didn’t want to stay there in the first place, but you had a reason that made you stay. So, you were just giving yourself a way out." Jian Dan expressed his true thoughts without any hesitation.
In Jian Dan’s opinion, dealing with this type of girl means piercing straight through her heart and tearing off the façade she wears. Only then can you see her true self!
The girl averted her gaze, momentarily flustered by Jian Dan reading her so easily, but quickly regained her composure, "So, you think I should thank you?" she retorted, eyeing Jian Dan coldly.
"No need for that. After all, you did help me out once." Jian Dan replied casually.
"Have we met before?" The girl examined Jian Dan coldly.
"What do you think? You really think I’d just meddle in anyone’s business for no reason?"
The woman scrutinized Jian Dan more carefully, "You aren’t that fool from the other day, are you? Completely oblivious to being followed!" she said, looking at Jian Dan arrogantly with her chin up.
"Are you calling me foolish?" Jian Dan felt like his heart had been dealt a heavy blow.
"What else could you be? That person followed you for so long, and you didn’t notice. If that’s not foolish, what is?" The woman spoke with disdain, looking elsewhere.
"Ha, really? How are you so sure I wasn’t aware from the beginning and just playing along? Aren’t you being a bit presumptuous?" Jian Dan looked displeased at the woman’s self-righteousness.
"Oh, is that so? Sounds more like an excuse to me," the woman maintained her earlier demeanor.
"Whatever you think! You saved me once, and now I’ve saved you. We’re even. Nobody owes anybody! I’m leaving!" Jian Dan waved his hand dismissively and walked away.
It was the first time Jian Dan had met someone so ungrateful!
Jian Dan returned to the roadside where he had parked earlier, got back into his car, and still felt a bit upset. The girl’s words calling him foolish kept replaying in his mind.
"I saved you, and you don’t even thank me? Instead, you insult me? It’s outrageous!" Jian Dan muttered angrily to himself in the car.
Just as he was about to start the engine and leave, the door of the passenger seat was suddenly opened from the outside, and someone got in.
When she saw who it was, she frowned directly, "Miss, did you get into the wrong car?"
"Just drive!" The girl ignored Jian Dan’s question and fastened her seatbelt coldly.
"Who are you! Just because you tell me to drive, I should? I’m not your chauffeur. Get out of the car, I’m going home." Jian Dan said, gripping the steering wheel with some annoyance.
"Drive!" The girl had no intention of leaving and spoke up again.
"Get out!" Jian Dan responded coldly, not backing down.
"I need to save a life, please drive!" The girl spoke again, her tone slightly softened.
Jian Dan wasn’t sure if he could be considered softhearted, but he knew that in that moment, he said nothing further and started the car...
