The Useless Miracle Doctor Consort Is Spoiled Rotten by the Prince!

Chapter 1549: 1544: Qin Muyan's Jealousy

Chapter 1549: Chapter 1544: Qin Muyan’s Jealousy

“Look ahead?”

Rong Yun raised her head and saw Long Ze, who stood a good half body taller than herself, pouting she asked, “What am I going to see if I look ahead?”

Long Ze pondered for a moment, “As a man, I don’t understand what lies ahead for women. The Princess should seek advice from her aunt. However, I want to tell the Princess that no matter how dissatisfied you are with your current life, you must not look back easily. There is no road to the past for anyone, but the future holds infinite hope.”

Only by looking forward could his Miss cheer up.

Rong Yun listened in a daze for a while. Indeed, Long Ze couldn’t provide her with the guidance or the answers she sought, but she felt joyous after this afternoon’s conversation with him, finding the scars in her heart soothed somewhat.

She said to Long Ze, “Aunt Yan recently made rose pastries. Would you bring some back to my mother? She gave Aunt Yan to me, and she must be missing the taste of these rose pastries.”

Long Ze smiled and nodded, “Yes, as commanded.”

He subdued the aura of killing around him. Though he wore a sword as a general, in front of Rong Yun, he was still that youth with the air of a refreshing breeze and a clear moon.

Rong Yun’s, Brother Long Ze.

Long Ze later told Rong Yun that the emperor had granted him a marriage. After he returned to Beiling City, he was to marry her older sister, the Third Princess. Rong Yun was happy for him, digging out many gifts and insisting he take them back to her elder sister, wishing them a lifetime of bliss.

When Long Ze left, he gazed deeply at Rong Yun, her porcelain white face still held a smile, not too marred by the hardships of the prince’s mansion.

Thus, his heart was somewhat at ease.

He turned around and took all his emotions and depth with him.

Aunt Yan watched his departing figure, filled with admiration.

Long Ze had loved Rong Yun since childhood, but he couldn’t marry her. Yet, he had fulfilled all she wished for and had hidden his concerns for her very well, never showing a fraction of them.

Thus, all was peaceful for each.

Rong Yun returned to her courtyard, her spirits lifted having seen Long Ze and received letters and gifts from the imperial palace of Beiling City.

Her homesickness eased, and when Aunt Yan fed her medicine, she cooperated fully.

She also instructed Aunt Yan, “Take some more rose pastries for Brother Long Ze. He should bring some back for my mother and the Crown Prince, and he himself should keep some to eat too. He enjoyed your rose pastries when he was younger.”

Aunt Yan first served Rong Yun a plate, “Yes, I shall do so.”

After Rong Yun finished her medicine and started on the pastries, Aunt Yan turned around and unexpectedly came face to face with Qin Muyan standing in the courtyard.

She had no idea when he had arrived, nor whether he had heard their earlier conversation.

Aunt Yan began to feel anxious.

Qin Muyan paid no heed to her and stepped into the room. He approached Rong Yun and looked at the rose pastry she was eating, asking softly, “How does it taste?”

Stunned, Rong Yun looked up to see it was him, then quickly looked down again, “Just… it tastes good, sweet…”

“Why didn’t you offer it to me before?” asked Qin Muyan, whose hands behind his back could not help but clench tightly, his veins bulging.

Faced with his questioning, Rong Yun’s head dipped even lower, “You never said you wanted to eat it…”

She had always eaten pastries in front of him, and he just watched, never reaching out to take any, nor asking her to feed him. She didn’t know he also liked them.

She was about to say, if you like it, I can ask my aunt to prepare some for you too.

But before she could utter the words, another question from Qin Muyan confronted her, “Did Long Ze tell you anything?”

Rong Yun pursed her lips, “I’ve grown up with Long Ze since we were little, so of course I know what he likes to eat without him having to say it.”

She is not one to lie.

Yet these words thoroughly infuriated Qin Muyan; he waved his hand and smashed the rose cake on the table, startling Rong Yun, “What are you doing!”

Her rose cake!

“I don’t have any, so you shouldn’t eat either!”

After saying that, Qin Muyan left with a cold face.

Rong Yun felt a mixture of anxiety and anger, but most of all, fear of Qin Muyan, “Why did he smash my cake…”

She clearly hadn’t said anything wrong, hadn’t done anything wrong, was he really treating her like this?

She hadn’t even blamed him for being with Li Yunshu!

Rong Yun threw herself onto the bed and cried her heart out for a long time; her body, just recently recovered, developed a high fever in the middle of the night.

When Nanny Yan reported this to Qin Muyan, he did not pay it any mind, simply saying to let her find a Doctor by herself.

Although Nanny Yan was frustrated, she could only take care of Rong Yun, helpless about the situation.

She didn’t know that Qin Muyan was also running a fever.

It was caused by the anger Rong Yun provoked in him.

She kept calling Long Ze ‘brother,’ which made Qin Muyan so angry that he woke up in the middle of the night and vomited a mouthful of blood.

Remembering the harmonious scene of Rong Yun and Long Ze walking together, the rage in his chest was so overwhelming that he couldn’t help wanting to kill Long Ze!

The next day when he attended the morning court and was discussing affairs in the imperial study with Qin Rulie, he unwittingly let the thought slip, and Qin Rulie rebuked him loudly, “Mu Yan, you are out of line!”

Qin Muyan immediately knelt down, his gaze cold and stern, “This brother has misspoke in a moment of impulse, I hope Imperial Brother can forgive me.”

In the imperial study, there were a few other ministers. Qin Rulie didn’t want to embarrass him too much, so he had the ministers leave first, then kept Qin Muyan alone.

Kneeling on the ground, Qin Muyan’s posture was upright, but the fierceness on his face could not be calmed; Qin Rulie could not help but feel annoyed, “Long Ze is the young general of Beiling City, a mature, steady, polite, and courteous man, who escorted our iron ore and taught us good methods for smelting. Such talent, I cherish, yet you want to kill him? What grievance do you have with him!”

He truly couldn’t understand Qin Muyan.

Qin Muyan’s eyes were cold, “It is this brother’s fault; I am just… jealous of him.”

“Jealous of him?”

This statement made Qin Rulie even more confused, his face a mix of shock and disbelief.

He had never thought that someone as noble and esteemed as Qin Muyan could feel jealousy towards another.

Qin Muyan and Qin Rulie had been brothers for many years, but even so, it was difficult for him to confide such matters, “Imperial Brother, he and Rong Yun are childhood sweethearts. This brother heard that her father once intended to betroth Rong Yun to him, but it was only the alliance marriage that interfered.”

Now thinking back, if it wasn’t for the alliance with Beiling City, Rong Yun, having reached adulthood, should have been Long Ze’s bride!

This thought stabbed at his heart continuously, torturing him, making him wish for death.

“What are you saying! Even if they were childhood sweethearts, what of it?”

Qin Rulie rose from the dragon throne, walked over to Qin Muyan, and firmly grasped his shoulder, “What does the past matter? Even if they had an engagement, Rong Yun is now your Princess, what else could they possibly do?”
