Chapter 1733 Obstructing the Obstacle

Chapter 1733 Chapter 1733. Obstructing the Obstacle

?”Fire…!” Purple Mist ordered.

Cipher Flight’s ships opened fire at the Kraken. The Kraken’s other tentacles came up and acted as shields. After blocking the cannon fires, the tentacles slapped the water. This slap caused a massive tidal wave that hit the other Cipher Flight ships.

While Cipher Flight ships were in disarray from the tidal wave, the frogman ships came from the side and fired at them. Some even crashed themselves into Cipher Flight ships and started boarding them. Battles ensued on these boarded ships.

The Kraken was still holding the one frigate above him. The guild soldiers aboard this frigate were sending ranged attacks at the Kraken. Some melee soldiers even jumped down and landed on the Kraken’s huge head. They then hit the Kraken with their melee weapons.

The Kraken responded by submerging into the lake. The frigate was forcefully pulled underwater. Under the lake, the pressure suffered by the frigate increased. It finally reached zero HP and it was broken to pieces. Guild soldiers were similar to natives. Other than the special units, the regular units could drown underwater.

The Kraken opened its large circular mouth filled with sharp teeth. The water around that mouth turned into a violent twister. The guild soldiers who tried to swim up were pulled by a powerful sucking force. These poor soldiers entered the Kraken’s mouth and were swallowed whole.

As the Kraken continued to swallow, a giant eel-like fish came at high speed. The Kraken sensed the incoming attack too late. The fish swiped its tail and it slapped the Kraken’s head with a tremendous force. The damage the Kraken suffered wasn’t much but the impact was enough to force it to stop sucking.

The eel-like fish was the Abaia, Cipher Flight’s guild guardian. It managed to save some guild soldiers from being swallowed by the Kraken, but it was now the Kraken’s target. It knew it wasn’t the Kraken’s opponent. It was one grade lower and eight levels weaker. It immediately swam away after the assault.

The Kraken didn’t let Abaia flee so easily. Its lengthy tentacles were fast. They lashed at the Abaia before it fled out of range. The Abaia was forced to turn around to avoid being captured, but another tentacle came from the other side.

As the Abaia kept on dodging the Kraken’s tentacles, it found the water had turned pitch-black. It was afflicted by Fatigue status once this happened. It didn’t have mana sense. Inside this dark water, it couldn’t see anything. It cast a spell that created a water hurricane in an attempt to blow this dark ink away, but the dark ink was as if one with the water. It persisted.

While blind, the Abaia felt a hard impact on its back. The impact was followed by something coiling around its body. It had been captured by the Kraken.

Above the water, Water Lily controlled the ships and had them ignore the ones that had been boarded by the frogmen. They rushed ahead while the Kraken was busy with the Abaia. If they could reach the enemy flagship and shut down the device that produced the fog, the Allied ships could still take down the Frogman fleet and the Kraken.

However, before they were halfway, the water in the middle of their formation erupted. The Kraken had resurfaced and it lashed its tentacles at the nearest ships. These ships were smacked hard. The ships that were hit almost capsized. Among the tentacles, they saw one had the Abaia helplessly trapped.

Purple Mist again called the ships to fire. The Kraken submerged back into the lake before this volley of fire hit.

Not long after, the water erupted again. This time, it was a force many times before. One of the frigates was even thrown high into the air due to the Kraken’s powerful slap from right underneath that ship. The frigate fell hard into the water while being upside down. It was unable to sail again.

“Damn it! With that Kraken around, we will run out of ships first before we reach the enemy flagship!” Water Lily cursed while looking at the projection above her control platform.

“Maintain your fleet’s course! I will hold the Kraken,” Water Lily received John’s message.

“Hold the Kraken? How are you going to…,” Water Lily stopped speaking when she noticed a large green dot engaged the large red dot representing the Kraken.

Those who were on the site saw what this green dot was. It was John’s Sea Bastion. The sea bastion had been wandering around the fog attacking any frogman ships it encountered. When the Kraken appeared, John sent a mental instruction for it to head over to provide aid.

The giant crab slammed its gigantic body into the Kraken. It then used its two giant pincers to clamp two of the Kraken’s tentacles. One of these tentacles was the one holding the Abaia.

The Sea Bastion clamped hard on the tentacle that coiled around the Abaia. That pincer glowed a bright light as the pressure it exerted increased. This was a skill, Power Clamp. The skill made the pincer clamped extremely hard, so hard that the Kraken’s tentacle ended up getting cut.

The cut tentacle lost its gripping force and the Abaia quickly released itself.

The Kraken was furious that his one tentacle had been severed. Its other six free tentacles coiled around the sea bastion and hit it repeatedly, but the sea bastion had an extremely tough shell. Even though the Kraken was nine levels stronger, it couldn’t cause too much damage to the sea bastion.

With its pincers, the sea bastion didn’t let the Kraken go. It didn’t care that its body was entangled by the Kraken and was hit repeatedly. It forcefully grabbed the Kraken and kept it underwater. Its objective was to prevent the Kraken from obstructing the Cipher Flight’s navy.

The Abaia didn’t engage the Kraken after being saved. Water Lily sent it a command to help clear the way for their navy. Because of the Kraken, many Frogman ships gained the time to approach them. The Abaia used its powerful tail-swipe skill to force these ships out of the way, allowing Cipher Flight’s navy to pass.

The Cipher Flight’s navy resumed their advance.

Purple Mist, who was aboard the frigate situated at the front, saw their target then. They were close enough to the enemy flagship that even the fog couldn’t obscure their view anymore.
