Chapter 2541: Help
The conquest on the western region was going at full force.
The managers were also fighting tooth and nail. Luckily for them, there were not many land crocs in there, so they can just focus on killing and less on capturing.
The forest was not peaceful and would not be peaceful for the next few days.
Meanwhile, Sam kept his eyes on the eastern region of the island, which would be their next target. He also had a new tool that’s about to come and he needed to test it out.
Overall, the progress is good, problems are less and he is achieving what he wanted to achieve.
But on the other side...
Bloody Chariot didn’t even come out of his cottage for the next few days.
Not a single glimpse. He even stopped Naka from visiting him. Whenever the porridge came, it was left outside the door.
Bloody Chariot had that porridge and that was the only time, he opened his eyes. The rest of time, he sat in meditation. He repeated the fight again and again in his head, thinking about what he could have done differently.
’Should I have attacked harder?’
’Should I have been faster?’
’Was I really not enough?’
’Was that a skill issue or a strength issue?’
He couldn’t figure out what defeated him. Naka was clearly weaker than him in cultivation. And he wasn’t a special case that contained multiple times of energy. He was a regular guy with regular constitution.
At least Ling Tian didn’t realize anything special.
But he still couldn’t figure out what is happening with him.
As he sat in the meditative state, his mind was in utter chaos. The aura emitted from his clearly reflected the chaos and the surroundings are being effected.
After a while, everyone noticed that the trees and bamboo surrounding the cottage are withering. Even the bamboo used to build the cottage is withering as well.
The vegetation died and the next were the small birds and animals.
They also disappeared from there, migrating to a different place.
After this went on for a few days...
One day, Naka and Yudhi were sitting at the village center.
"Is Bloody Chariot still in that phase? He didn’t have a single peaceful state since that loss. If he doesn’t let it rest, he might not be able to cultivate anymore." Yudhi said with genuine concern.
"Looks like it. He didn’t even let me in once.
He was constantly meditating and everytime, he is only getting more and more disturbed, instead of being relaxed."
"Go. Stop him and bring him back. He is destroying the beautiful forest. Kids in the village are getting scared. And its not good for his recovery at all. It’s better for him to talk to us than stewing himself in frustration like this."
"Alright."
Naka left and went to Bloody Chariot’s cottage.
"I don’t want to meet you now, Naka."
"I am afraid, you do not have a choice right now, my friend. I understand your frustration and wished to give you some time with yourself.
But, you are impacting the village and its harmony. With all due respect, as much as I respect my guests... you are evolving into a disturbance.
My brother asked me to bring you. Have a talk with him. I am sure its better than whatever you are doing right now."
Bloody Chariot hesitated for a moment...
He didn’t know what to do or say.
"Don’t take too long. My brother already spoke. So, its not up to you anymore. I would pack you up and carry you there, if needed. I am sure you don’t want me to do that after everything that happened."
"I am coming."
Bloody Chariot came out. Both of them walked back to the center in silence.
"You are finally out. And looks like it was voluntary. I am glad you agreed. Naka is not really the patient type after all."
Yudhi didn’t even offer a greeting. Instead there was a stone table set up with some drinks on it. Bloody Chariot took the chair opposite to him, while Naka stood behind Yudhi in attention.
"It wasn’t exactly a choice, as I was told."
"Well... it technically isn’t. I respect you a lot. But as Naka said, we can’t let you disrupt the harmony of the village.
Your aura, and presence over the past few days destroyed quite a lot of trees."
"It’s just trees... they will just grow back."
Bloody Chariot said out loud without even thinking.
Yudhi’s face didn’t even change as he replied.
"So, will your Ego. But you don’t see me telling you to get over the loss, right? I value every blade of grass that grows on my land. So, I advise you to be respectful about them."
Bloody Chariot pursed his lips and looked at him. It was definitely a sting at him.
"It seemed like I overstepped. I apologize. What did you want to talk to me exactly?" Bloody Chariot replied.
"I need to know. What exactly is your problem right now?
Is it that you lost to someone weaker than you? Or is that you don’t understand how you lost to someone weaker than you?"
"What’s the difference? Aren’t they the same?"
"Of course not. First question is about ego, second question is about analysis. Sure, there might be unwillingness in both. But only one of them shows that you have proper mindset.
So, tell me which one it is and maybe I can help you out."
Bloody Chariot stayed in silent. Only when Yudhi asked did she think about it...
He didn’t know why he was asking himself constantly, about the cause of his defeat. He didn’t know if he wanted a reason for his loss to overcome it or justify it.
"Maybe a bit of both."
"Alright. I can’t help with your Ego break. But I can give a hint about the second one.
The reason Naka was able to fight you even with a cultivation level difference at your level, is purely because of the way he perceives energy.
It’s not the nature, constitution, or even the quality. It is just perception. It’s different from what your perception of energy is... and its superior.
That’s why you lost."
