Chapter 1565: Metal Spikes

Chapter 1565: Metal Spikes

Sivan looked at Sam struggling to keep the barrier intact.

This gave him weird pleasure. The pleasure that he craved more and more.

So as Sam struggled with the earth completely covering him from all sides, Sivan made another motion just like before and slammed the earth once again.

This time, even more rocks and blocks of soil started coming toward the sphere. The force increased and the barrier almost broke, no matter how much Sam reinforced it. After some thought, he took a deep breath and changed the energy within the barrier with the repel style.

The energy tried to slip the rocks away into different directions and in fact, it worked for a bit, but as soon as they went off track a bit, they turned back and slammed against Sam once again.

The gravitational pull was focused on Sam and he became a direct victim of that. In a desperate attempt, Sam used the ripple and void style combined to release as many energy waves as he can to destroy as many rocks as he possibly can.

*BOOM* *CRASH*

The explosion occurred with the rocks crashing into each other with Sam in the middle. Sivan kept on controlling the pull as he made the crushing force increase with every passing second.

Sam felt suffocated in the middle and soon he started feeling sharp spikes popping up from the rocks and the soil that is constricting him.

It seems like Sivan wanted to just skewer him without any chance to fight back. Of course, Sam didn't plan to just stay there and be pierced like this.

The middle section of the staff opened as a large energy beam was shot out of it.

A large hole opened in the middle of the rock and it exploded.

The severe explosion even impacted Sam who has locked in the middle also, but he didn't care about that and just focused on getting out.

As soon as the explosion occurred, the rocks were thrown off because of the force. Sam used this chance to just slip off from the gaps along with his staff.

He then slammed the staff on the ground creating another massive ripple and explosion at the same time and jumped away using the recoil.

The rocks and soil crashed together once again.

Sam rolled on the ground before finally stopping and standing up. He panted like crazy. He didn't expect that Sivan could get used to his body this much.

This is definitely unexpected and unnatural in a way. Even he had to take some time to adapt to the bloodline arts. For Sivan to get used to them and be this fluid about using them, is definitely something that caught him off guard.

He became extra cautious as he looked at Sivan.

He cannot let it slip by.

Sivan watched as the attack crashed into itself and negated itself.

He stopped the attack and looked at Sam who already prepared another barrier. Along with the barrier, there are two more orbs that flew into the air which he also noticed.

By now there are five orbs that attracted his attention. Once again, before he could take action a myriad of energy bullets came at him.

Sivan dodged them with ease and blocked the rest with earth elements as he asked.

"Is it really the only thing you are left with?

With these bullets and the crippled body, you really thought you could take me down? Just how much do you underestimate me?"

As he spoke, metal elemental energy started spreading across his body as spikes appeared from various parts.

Elbows, knees, and particularly the back.

The metal spikes just protruded out until they are very thin before they separated themselves from his body and hovered around him.

The spikes kept on multiplying with every second as Sivan looked at Sam casually.

At the same time, all of the weapons in the few dozen-meter radii started moving. The weapons and armor that were with the dead bodies on the battlefield.

They all moved towards Sivan. The armors tore themselves apart as they turned into a bunch of sharp shards of metal as they revolved around.

Sam looked at the whole thing in confusion. His energy vision is clearly showing that the metal energy is attracting them, but it is also linking them all together within an invisible force.

It didn't take a lot of thought to figure out that it is magnetic force. But he couldn't understand why Sivan is collecting all of these all of a sudden when he was going with the flow of bloodline arts.

Dia's bloodline arts are of two kinds. One is the earth element one, which Sivan just used the other one is metal element one which is actually a very complicated one and is mostly related to the flesh-eating habit of the Mare.

It actually focuses on the blood of the target. The iron within the blood is targeted by the intense and delicate magnetic force. The limbs, organs, and other parts within the body are forcefully torn apart and minced into a paste.

That is how that skill actually works. So, he is very confused about what Sivan is doing.

But Sam took this chance of Sivan preparing to make his own preparations. He created three more orbs that flew away from him while he reinforced the barrier like crazy.

Since he got a few more minutes, he decided to prepare for Dia's bloodline attack.

He created eight small spheres of energy that are layered upon his already existing barrier and created a small formation that created continuous ripples. This is to remove the magnetic force effect that might be directed toward him.

Even if it can't negate, Sam is sure that it can reduce it by a large amount.

While he is thinking like that, Sivan finally made his move.

All of these sharp metallic objects started roaming around his sphere and circled Sam.

They kept on hovering while moving around slightly.

Sam became cautious, but he still kept on creating more and more orbs. And as he made them continuously, the time consumption is reducing with every attempt. This made it much easier for him to do this while still observing Sivan's movements.

Sivan's body once again started glowing metal elemental energy and Sam finally felt the effect on his barriers.

He could feel that the blood inside his body is being riled up because of the magnetic force. Even though some of it is being toned down from the formation, it is still not working as he wanted it to be.

He gritted his teeth and tried his best to use his energy to resist that. He even went as far as closing his eyes to have better concentration.

Sivan smirked at this and all of a sudden made a move with the sharp objects. They all started gathering metal elemental energy at their tip as they shot towards the sphere.

Sam looked at those and expected them to come at him like that. So, he tapped the staff on the ground and the outermost layer of the barrier dispersed into energy ripples to stop their advance.

But to his surprise, the pointy ends of the sharp metal objects penetrated through the ripples and advanced forward.

Sam immediately made the ripples explode after watching this, but he was too late. Some weapons already made their way to the barriers.

When they stabbed themselves into the barrier, Sam felt the energy moving away from that point. The formation around the barrier started fluctuating. Sam looked at Sivan hatefully as he instantly dispersed the whole barrier and jumped away with the help of the explosive recoil.

While he was still in the air, the metal spikes started coming at him which Sam blocked with energy bullets.

He landed on the ground clumsily as he panted heavily.

Buy now there are ten orbs in the air and Sam is still making them.

Sivan who is watching and observing them, finally couldn't ignore them anymore.

He looked at them and thought hard about what could Sam be thinking, but he couldn't imagine anything.

Even though he got all of the memories from Sam, there is one thing he couldn't figure out. The thought process.

He could never understand what Sam is thinking in any situation. Because for every situation, it is almost like Sam's thought process is tailor-made to resolve that one situation.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Just that one particular situation.

And it is completely changed for a different situation.

With all of those memories and incidents, Sivan only understood one thing.

Sam's thought process for solving anything is to only use the variables that he has at hand at that moment. It doesn't depend on any fixed objects or techniques or even people.

He only deals with variable factors at that time and calculates things.

This made Sivan look at other variables that might affect their fight. But he couldn't think of anything.
