777 A Hidden Weapon!
It seemed that Tan Jian had no chance of awakening his talent. The young man shook his head with a sigh.
Well, that meant that he might as well rely on the wooden stick!
Elder Nie was tempted to slam his head onto the table. If only he had dealt with this man earlier. Now that President Tan had awakened his spiritual talent, it would be almost impossible to hold this man down!
How was he going to escape now?
Just the thought of them turning against him was enough to make him quake on his boots.
“Tell me, what do you do to increase your spiritual power?” A voice echoed from beside him, and he froze.
What did he do?
Elder Nie scoffed, bursting into laughter.
Only a few seconds later did he snap, “Yao Tang, let me tell you—you won’t get this information from me! I won’t tell you even if I die today!” He sneered. “Besides, you may have bested me now, but in time, the Green Cloud Pavilion will surpass everyone–even the cabinet. By then, we’ll make sure to return the favor you’ve granted us!”
However, as soon as he had finished speaking, Yao Tang gently nicked his skin.
Blood trickled down his cut, and she smirked.
“Surpass? You might not even be alive to witness it.”
Feeling the throbbing pain in his neck, Elder Nie hissed. His eyebrows were furrowed as he tried to process what had just happened. He didn’t expect the young girl to be capable of hurting him.
“The way you’re treating me, do you still wish to live?” he demanded.
His hoarse voice carried so much rage.
“Even if I’m dead, I’ll still live longer than you.” She chuckled. “The only one you should worry about is yourself.”
“Even if I die, the Green Cloud Pavilion wouldn’t let you off! All of you will have a red target on your backs. Let’s see how smug you are when you return.”
As he was the Grand Elder, the Pavilion would surely look into his disappearance.
The person who had managed to kill him would eventually be hunted down.
They may be able to beat him today, but surely they would be too overwhelmed by the power of the entire Pavilion. They’d surely surround her.
Yao Tang wouldn’t be able to escape by then!
Elder Nie felt a little excited at the thought.
What he didn’t expect was for her response to be,
“I’ll still die later than you anyway.”
She shrugged.
“You—”
“What? Am I wrong?”
Yao Tang raised her eyebrows. “At least I can still live for a couple more days. It’s still longer than yours.”
Elder Nie’s chest heaved up and down, at a complete loss for words.
If looks could kill, the girl would’ve already been six feet beneath her grave at this point. He didn’t expect this girl to have such a sharp tongue.
No one had dared to speak to him like this before.
How impudent!
If she hadn’t held him hostage today, he would’ve slapped her for making such stupid assumptions!
The more he thought about it, the more outraged he became.
“Pfft!”
He spat a mouthful of blood.
The grass was practically coated with his spit and blood.
The second she saw that he was about to vomit his own blood, Yao Tang took a step back.
She also retracted her dagger.
Her eyes narrowed with disgust.
However, the moment she stepped back, his eyes flashed! He turned around and spat toward her.
it glowed with silver light!
A weapon!
It was so fast that it flew toward her neck.
Elder Nie has fixated on her as a smile grew on his lips. His only dream was to see this little wench fall onto the ground with her own wide pool of blood. As long as she’s dead, the other two wouldn’t be a problem.
That left President Tan—the man who had just awakened his spiritual power, and his rash son!
He could best them easily!
President Tan and Tan Jian looked over, freezing when Elder Nie spit a hidden weapon from his mouth.
They felt their hearts rise to their throat.
If something happened to Yao Tang, what would they do?
