Chapter 2070: Not Alone

Chapter 2070: Not Alone

The Eighth stage Sovereign was left speechless, indeed they were with the ones with the numbers, so why was he calling Grey shameless if he was only trying to make things better for himself.

"Where is that mercenary? Isn’t she and her group supposed to be here now? We sent out the message a day ago?" One of the Eighth stage Gnomes asked with a worried expression. Although the mercenary leader was only a Sixth stage Sovereign, she was quite tactful, for this reason, she was able to convince the emissary to give her the Peak Sovereign puppet which was independent.

He could not use his puppet in the presence of Grey since it was no different from a death wish. And without his puppet, he was too scared to fight Grey. He was not the only one who felt this way, the other Eighth stage Sovereigns all did not have any confidence in clashing with Grey.

Of the ten Eighth stage Sovereign present, only three were Gnomes. The other seven were all humans.

Hearing the Gnomes question, the others were also curious as to why she was not present.

With Grey’s hearing, he naturally heard the Gnome.

"Oh, you want to get that strange puppet from that fiery lady?" Grey’s voice oozed sarcasm before he brought out an item. When he killed the mercenary leader, he obtained a token that was given to her by the Gnomes. Waving the token in their faces, he declared, "She’s dead, and so will all of you before the end of today."

"Dead? How can she be dead? She has the puppet?!" An Eighth stage Sovereign exclaimed, finding it hard to believe what Grey was saying. If not for the token that still had some of the mercenary leader’s aura, he would have said Grey was lying.

"That thing is indeed strange, but do you think it can stop me?"

As Grey asked this question, the Eighth stage Sovereigns facing him all wore long faces. Grey was arrogant, too arrogant. Sadly, there was nothing they could do to refute him given his shocking strength. One of them was about to speak up when he suddenly noticed Grey’s figure moving.

"Stop him!" He roared and attacked, creating a large ice wall to block Grey’s path.

An ice wall of such level would not be able to block Grey. Clenching his fist, Grey punched a hole big enough to pass through in the ice wall before appearing in the front of a Sixth stage Sovereign Gnome.

The Gnome panicked and tried to flee. He did not even have the courage to want to fight back.

Even a Ninth stage Sovereign would find it impossible to escape from Grey at such distance, much less a Sixth stage one. Within a breath’s time, Grey grabbed the shoulder of the Gnome and pulled.

The immense force from the pull sent the Gnome crashing into the ground. Grey followed up, sending the Gnome smashing into a tree with a kick.

The Gnome coughed up a mouthful of blood as he crashed into the tree, shattering it in the process.

Not sparing the Gnome a glance, he charged towards the next target.

The forest was once again thrown into chaos as the weaker Sovereigns fled for their lives.

"Set up formations to protect yourself!" The Faction Leader in purple ordered his Faction members.

The other Eighth stage Sovereigns also issued out orders like these. There was seemingly no way for them to stop Grey, so it was best for them to at least be able to put up a fight long enough for help to arrive.

The Gnomes had heard about Grey’s fighting capabilities when faced with large numbers. His space element made him elusive, and even without it, he still had the lightning and wind elements which vastly improved his speed; making him faster than most here.

As the Sovereigns below the Eighth stage scurried to try to protect themselves, Grey continued to harvest the lives of a few more Sovereigns. Almost every ten seconds, a body would drop from the sky, dead.

It was only after two full minutes had passed did the Sovereigns manage to at least halt Grey’s progress. Nonetheless, the floor was littered with corpses, both Gnomes and that of humans.

Most of the previously wounded Sovereigns from Grey’s first assault had died from these attacks. Grey was ruthless, and also quite cunning. He already had a target, and now that he had greatly reduced their numbers, he felt much more relaxed.

Standing in the middle of multiple formations, as well as the Eighth stage Sovereigns who were looking at him with fire in their eyes, he did not budge, calmly standing with both hands behind his back, portraying a lonely but invincible figure.

Seeing the deaths of their comrades, most of the weaker Gnomes lost the zeal to fight.

The Eighth stage Gnome understood this, taking in a deep breath he tried to rouse their spirits, "The emissary should arrive any moment now, as long as we can keep him here until the emissary arrives, the reward from the Emperor will be more than enough for all of us to cultivate until the end of our lives. He might be strong, but he is just one man, put a..."

"Who says I’m alone?" Grey cut the speech of the Gnome, asking with a mocking smile.

The weaker Gnomes who were just starting to have their spirits raised felt like they had been doused in water. Grey alone had already killed roughly close to two hundred people in such a short time. Their strongest expert was killed even before the battle began. Now he was saying he was not alone, how would they be able to deal with him once there are more fighters on his side.

Void and the bunny leader appeared beside Grey, both as carefree as they could be.

Everyone looked around for Grey’s help, but all they saw were two cute little magical beasts that did not look like they could hurt a fly.

They heaved a sigh of relief, thinking Grey was only trying to scare them so he could escape. Only to hear a tiny voice yell....

"Charge!"
