Chapter 1630: B-Class Primal
Wang Wei watched the memory on repeat, observing every subtle change or fluctuation. He would sometimes pause and rewind, an act made possible by the unique nature of the special memory talisman. He had to marvel at Heavenly Dao’s control of the laws, energy, or any force that existed between Heaven and Earth.
The key to such a high level of consciousness can be described with two words: consciousness and natural operation. Every time Heavenly Dao operated, the laws themselves gained a temporary sentience or consciousness whose sole purpose is to optimize their wielder’s task.
Additionally, Heavenly Dao seemed to have created a perfect system. By building on the ability for her every action to bring sentience to metaphysical things, these laws then become the most intimate "individual" with Heavenly Dao, thus increasing their efficiency and result; they can now achieve the highest result with the least amount of effort, achieving minimum energy input and maximum output of effect.
’It’s truly brilliant,’ Wang Wei thought. ’But, I wonder how Grand Dao operates.’ If Heavenly Dao’s system is so beautiful and sophisticated, he could only imagine what Grand Dao’s control of power is like. As one of the last levels of the [Force Control Skill], Wang Wei looked forward to finding out.
Now that he understood the mystery behind this secret, it was only a matter of replicating it. The essence of this level of control lies in the application of the spirit. With enough mastery and the proper application, it’s possible to grant his Grand Dao Source some form of consciousness. However, Wang Wei must control to what extent. If the consciousness is too powerful, then he will have just created a spirit for his law, which is, in itself, an interesting idea.
The consciousness cannot be too high — not only because that raises the possibility of giving birth to a spirit — but because anything with high intelligence can be distracted or have the tendency to overthink. His goal is to create a level of consciousness that can execute a task, but not so high that it will cause trouble. The best way to achieve this goal is to inject certain instincts into the consciousness.
These instincts need to be created to fit all of Wang Wei’s needs. They need to understand everything about him, including his energy signature, soul aura, his habits of using laws or other forces, his mindset, and so much more. Once those are done, he’ll have his own system of manipulating forces.
’This reminds me of coding,’ Wang Wei thought. This thought clarified the direction he needed to head for this technique. So, without wasting any more time, he started his innovation. A purple flame materialized above his palm, and Wang Wei stared at it intensely. If anyone were present and observed the flame, they would have noticed it was more alive or lively than others, and that’s because the Fire Grand Dao Source had gained a small amount of consciousness.
’One form of consciousness was not enough to help me improve to the level I want,’ Wang Wei thought. Heavenly Dao had a system, so Wang Wei began creating more of these imperceptible consciences and programming them to serve his bidding. Time is simultaneously the highest restraint and almost meaningless to the immortal existence of this universe. Without needing to worry about it, Wang Wei focused on creating the different consciousnesses and organizing them into a system.
He soon reached his limit, but instead of showing a joyous smile, he frowned instead. ’My system is way less complicated than Heavenly Dao.’ Wang Wei had reached the limit of his soul or cultivation. He will probably improve after condensing the remaining two transcendent foundations. Still, if he wishes to use the true power of Heavenly Dao Control, he has to wait until he’s a Saint.
’No matter,’ Wang Wei thought. The bones of the technique were already set, and he was only limited by his cultivation. Moreover, it soothed his mind knowing that once he’s a Saint, his version will probably be even better than Heavenly Dao’s.
"Now, for the hard part," Wang Wei muttered. The most challenging aspect of this technique is that these consciousnesses and their organizational systems have to be created on the spot. He cannot store them and use them when needed, as that would make it easier for his opponent to notice and deal with. No, Wang Wei needs to be able to instantly create them with every use of a spell, technique, or skill.
Such a slight difference is what elevates this technique to the highest echelon. It’s also what will probably make it inaccessible to most cultivators, as they cannot meet the requirements, which mostly involve intense focus, willpower, and a calculative mind. Wang Wei’s recent Soul Dao achievements, his training in the Critical Hit Path, and his [Three Selves – Three Path Art] became the key to creating and using this technique.
As soon as the technique was created, he immediately tested it out. He used the most direct approach: a punch. During his early days, one of Wang Wei’s favorite techniques was the [Word Destruction Punch], which he learned from his grandfather’s scripture. Despite the clichéd name, the technique’s essence was simple: he released all the tension from his tense muscles into a powerful burst.
This technique has long been removed from his arsenal because of its simplicity. But today, he was using it because of its simplistic nature. As he activated the [Force Control Skill] along with that punch, his muscles gained temporary consciousness and formed a system that optimized the punch for efficiency and maximum destructive force. As such, this simple punch had the same attack potency as Wang Wei’s Soul Ultimate Skill.
Wang Wei opened his mouth and exhaled. His lungs, pharynx, and other parts of his enemy involved in the act of exhaling became conscious and did their job. He tried again, and this time, he added the wind element from his body. As expected, consciousness could be created from anything.
He did not stop there. The following tests involved speed skills, defense skills, evading skills, escaping skills, seal skills, domain skills, buff skills, and many more. Wang Wei’s plan had worked: he had become a C-Class Primal not long after reaching this level.
’Now let’s see how I do in a fight,’ Wang Wei thought. It’s pointless to test these skills without anyone responding. He needed to test out how he could use the [Force Control Skill] in intense and stressful situations. So, he contacted his wife and his ancestors to send projections for him to fight against.
They first lowered their skill level to match his before gradually increasing the pressure. The process was enlightening to Wang Wei, especially his fight with Li Ming. He now understood why Maitreya wanted him to train the court’s soldiers. Moreover, Li Ming even found a few flaws in his technique, which allowed him to perfect it.
After Wang Wei felt he had mastered the technique, he shared it with the ancestors as a gesture of appreciation for the time they had taken to train with him. As Wu Hong predicted, the [Force Control Skill] can elevate their skills to the echelon of the highest attack potency. And in Yan Hai’s case, it can drastically reduce the drain of using 6-tier Grand Construct Skills.
The retreat was not over. There was one 100 Yuan Epoch until the Court Assembly, which was equivalent to a 1000 Yuan Epoch inside a Time Formation. Wang Wei felt he could master at least one Grand Construct in that period. So, without wasting much time, he read all of Wu Hong and the ancestor’s experience before starting.
His Earth Emperor Crown manifested in his head as he accessed the Six Paths of Samsara. Yes, he did not choose the obvious River of Fate as his first choice, and that’s for an obvious reason. If his deduction is correct and he might lose the title, he wanted to use it as soon as possible.
Mastering a Grand Construct was all about resonating with it until the cultivator left an imprint or signature that served as proof of their deep and unbreakable connection, thus accessing a tiny portion of their immense power. The process can be challenging for myriad reasons. Besides the low affinity to these constructs, cultivators can encounter resistance — usually for Samsara and Primordial Chaos — and more importantly, they can be assimilated and have their Dao corroded.
Wang Wei did not have any of these troubles. His Fate Dominating Dao contained Samsara Dao, meaning he had great talent and affinity for this construct. It also reduced his worry about contamination. He still needed to be cautious, or his Fate Dao would be turned into a pure Samsara Dao, but he had much more resistance.
Finally, the Earth Emperor Position would shield him from the Yama Kings or anyone else, for that matter, from interfering with his cultivation. With this advantage, Wang Wei finally left his mark on Samsara, forming an unbreakable bond. He became a B-Class Primal.
Wang Wei opened his eyes and exhaled. He calculated with his finger: ’There is still 5 Yuan Epoch left.’ He needed to train his 1-tier Grand Construct Skill, but that wouldn’t take too much time. After all, he has been using the construct before, meaning he just needed to update his previous techniques and combine them with the [Force Control Skill].
