Chapter 276: Deception
I nodded, but I still looked at her with an impeccable smile. “Madam Jing, I have to obey you to be sensible?”
She nodded arrogantly. “Of course, I’m your elder. Isn’t it your duty to obey me? Besides, I’m giving you a free house since you’re an orphan, and Jing Tian and your uncle are friends, what more do you want?”
I shook my head. “Madam Jing, you’re wrong. If I obey you, then I’ll only make it worse for both of us.” She was bewildered.
I looked at her and felt like playing a prank. Jing Tian, I’m sorry. Since you’re not here, I’ll have to do this myself. The water is already so murky, might as well stir it up even more.
I smiled brightly, “Why does Madam Jing want me to move out? Is it because someone told you that my presence has interfered with Jing Tian’s relationship?”
I successfully got her attention.
“Both Jing Tian and my little uncle are handsome, rich, and powerful. There are girls falling at their feet but they have been single for years. Haven’t you wondered why?” I asked.
Madam Jing stared at me with her beautiful big eyes.
I was slowly reeling her in. I blinked at her.
“Why?” She finally asked. Her previous arrogance was gone.
I waved at her and she leaned subconsciously forward. I leaned in to whisper, “Because I heard Jing Tian likes my little uncle!”
“Nonsense!” Madam Jing’s face paled. She shrank back to glare at me.
I was laughing internally. Since they want chaos, then I’ll give them chaos!
I said seriously, “Madam, do you still want me to move out? I can and we’ll give them the freedom to expand their relationship.”
She turned pale. “You’re talking nonsense! You have to be. His father said that Jing Tian is supposed to marry a young lady from a good family in the capital. However, the young lady now refuses because of the relationship between you and Jing Tian. The Jing Family and the Nan Family have been family friends, so his father doesn’t wish to turn this situation ugly. Therefore, he brought me back to persuade Jing Tian. However, I know how stubborn Jing Tian is. I know he wouldn’t listen to me. That’s why I came to ask you to move out. After Jing Tian marries that young lady, then the rumors between you and Jing Tian will naturally stop.”
She looked at me angrily.
I looked at her in surprise.
“Madam, have you asked if Jing Tian likes that young lady or not?” I asked.
She nodded.
“Then did Jing Tian say that he doesn’t like her?” I asked again.
This time, she didn’t nod her head but she pouted.
I sighed internally.
Old Master Jing really loved her and because of that, he ‘locked’ her up on an island and isolated her from the rest of the world. Madam Jing was so naive that even a child had more tact than she did.
Old Master Jing had ‘invited’ Madam Jing to persuade Jing Tian. But instead of telling her the truth, he had Jing Tian’s mother pester Jing Tian and force him to submit.
Unfortunately, Madam Jing had her own idea. Without Old Master Jing knowing, she decided to come to me, the crux of the problem.
Fine, if they wanted to play things this way, I would play along!
