Chapter 1672: Darkness Devil Body

Heavenly Emperor Yin's voice resounded through the giant palace infused with killing intent. This caused the void to shake, and the surrounding worldly natural energy rippled with his emotions. The terrifying pressure capable of flipping mountains and parting seas was directed towards Li Lingjing, and she found it difficult even to breathe.

"Have you sensed something, Honored Lord?" Li Lingjing indifferently replied as she wiped away the blood stains on the side of her lips.

Heavenly Emperor Yin's flames flickered as he said with some appreciation, "You truly are courageous, daring to look down on the might of a Heavenly Emperor. Perhaps it's no surprise you've managed to claw yourself out of one dire predicament after another. It looks like you've also guessed that I won't kill you."

Li Lingjing lowered her eyes slightly, remaining silent. After all, considering how powerful Heavenly Emperor Yin was, if he wished to kill her, he wouldn't have taken her from Xia City. "Even a great swimmer might eventually drown. Is this going to be the end of me?" Li Lingjing softly mocked herself as her entire body turned cold. However, she didn't mind the idea. Her life had ended the moment she was parasitized by the Soul Eater True Devil.

As the billowing smoke drifted across the hall, even the void shattered. Suddenly, the smoke seemed to have gained a life of its own and casually drilled through the resonant power barrier around Li Lingjing before swiftly entering her body through her seven orifices.

The terrifying strand of will in the smoke began to fill up her body, destroying every single bit of her spirit. The light in her eyes gradually receded and her mind turned blurry as she was detached from the world, darkness swamping over her like a great tide.

Some of the black smoke lingered outside her body, gradually taking the shape of a cocoon that wrapped around her, its surface filled with wriggling runes. Her vision turned increasingly foggy as the cocoon formed.

Perhaps it was finally time. After so many years, she had become very tired. As the last bit of light vanished from her view, she let out a sigh from the depths of her heart. At the very last moment, an image that stirred profound emotions appeared in her mind. It was a scene from Western City, inside the desolate old manor's courtyard.

She was sitting on her wheelchair, her eyes devoid of spirit, no different from a corpse. A youth bathed in light walked through the ruined entrance, entering her view. He gave her a warm and genuine smile, extending a ray of hope into her heart, offering a chance at redemption. The corners of her lips inadvertently curled up into a wry smile.

"I'm sorry, Li Luo, it looks like I've finally reached the end of the road. I can no longer help you. You'll have to be more careful from here on out."
