Death… And Me

Chapter 3902: Full Speed Ahead!

Chapter 3902: Full Speed Ahead!

From there onwards, Kentucky continued to fly, using everything in his favor to avoid battles as much as possible. However, only one team was eliminated so far. Rean and Roan knocked out two guys from another two teams, but those two unconscious youngsters were quickly caught by their team. Now their teams had someone carrying the unconscious bodies around to prevent the chain from stretching more than ten meters.

Naturally, that meant those two teams were still in contention. Nine teams, and the minutes were passing. The hesitation of those who saw Wisfreya’s group earlier quickly disappeared when they thought about the Nebula Divine Cores. It was definitely worth risking their life for, and in most of their heads, worth more than the title of victor of the Martial Gathering.

Fortunately, Kentucky had clean air ahead of him. He kept flying in the worst patterns for the other teams, making it difficult for them to catch him. Wisfreya and the twins’ group were obviously helping too. The third minute went by, then the fourth, sixth, eight... and finally, the ninth minute was almost upon them.

However, since that was a closed dome, Kentucky could only do so much to avoid the other teams. To do better than that, he would have to release more of his real power, and that couldn’t happen now.

Kentucky stopped in midair as the other nine teams finally closed all his escape routes. At the moment, Roan was the one holding the Crystal Core, which had a mix of Earth and Fire Element emanating from it. Of course, the Crystal Core was, at most, causing Roan to feel his hands itchy. It’s just that he had to pretend that he was working hard to hold it.

Noticing that Kentucky had nowhere to go, with the nine teams in front and the dome’s barrier behind, Roan threw the crystal to Celis. "Hold it."

Celis nodded and enveloped the Crystal Core with his vines. It didn’t seem like a good idea, since fire was supposed to be a weakness of most demon plants. Yet, everyone knew another minute was almost upon them, so the crystal was bound to change the elements it was using again.

’What now?’ Kentucky asked, the nine teams flying straight at them. After what they did, those teams didn’t dare attack Wisfreya’s team alone. They were all coming at once and as fast as possible.

Roan glanced at the crystal, then his eyes went up. He looked at Rean for a moment right after, who nodded back at him, confirming his suspicions. ’Full speed ahead!’

’Hahaha!’ Kentucky immediately understood. ’On it! Make sure to defend me.’

In front of everyone’s eyes, they saw Kentucky flying straight at the enemy teams. Some even wondered if they were trying to commit suicide.

The nine enemy teams couldn’t help but curse. Wasn’t that the same tactic as before? However, they didn’t hesitate this time; all of them were ready to attack Kentucky and his group with everything they had.

Elements raged, weapons flew, and Kentucky became a target for a show of colored lights... or so it was supposed to be.

*Bzzzz!*

Yet, just as Kentucky threw himself in the middle of all those teams, the Crystal Core that Celis was holding seemed to react to the environment. The elemental storms around answered its call, and even more elements concentrated in the furious black clouds.

Now, everyone understood. Kentucky wasn’t trying to commit suicide. The Elemental Storms had been targeting the team that had been holding a Crystal Core for the longest. Naturally, that was Wisfreya’s group. It happened at the end of every minute. Now that the ninth minute had arrived, it was bound to attack them again.

Yet, this was not like the first four-minute marks. Way, way more power was accumulated into those black clouds, which had been happening for the past tens of seconds. Then, when the ninth minute arrived, it was all released at once.

The intention of the creators of this dome was obvious. They wanted to see the leading teams drop their crystals, making the last event as hard as possible for everyone. With such an amount of elemental power in the elemental storms, the teams would likely drop their crystals on purpose once they noticed it and then think about some other way to overcome that calamity.

Too bad, though. Rean and the others had noticed when the clouds started to accumulate energy way ahead. They knew the next attack created by the formation controlling this environment would be the strongest, something no team could hope to defend against without ample preparation.

A rain of elemental attacks fell in Kentucky’s direction. And because all those teams attacked Kentucky at the same time, they were also targeted by this catastrophe. No, it was better to say that those teams’ attacks stood out in that crowd, and Kentucky, who was right in the middle, was actually in the safest position!

*Kabrummmm!*

*Boom, boom, boom...*

*Bzzzzzz!*

*Kcrrasshhh!*

Corpses and unconscious bodies immediately began to fall from all sides. The chains immediately reacted, and Divine Energy Pressure assaulted all teams who had someone outside the ten-meter limit.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Silver Flashes of light appeared all around Wisfreya’s group, various teams being teleported back to the Military Base main field. That meant at least three members of their teams had been killed or defeated to the point they couldn’t fight anymore.

Finally, the black clouds dispersed again as the elemental power inside faded. From within all the dust and smoke, Kentucky flew out, several burnt marks on his body. Wisfreya’s group on his back wasn’t much different. Everyone there seemed to have suffered quite a few injuries and high-degree burns. However, they were still standing, and Celis continued to hold onto the Crystal Core.

Gakrid and Rovitel looked black and pale at the same time. Black from burns, white from dread and fear. They truly thought they would die back there. Surprisingly, the twins’ group helped them defend against all the craziness of that moment, and they were still alive somehow.

As for the other teams, seven of them disappeared. No doubt they had lost more than three members each and were disqualified. There were only two other teams left besides Wisfreya’s group. Yet, they were under huge pressure at the moment, as both of them still suffered even worse injuries, and the chains connecting their teams had been stretched more than ten meters.

Kentucky didn’t wait there to see if they would manage to recover, though. He simply flew into the distance. He could watch those two teams through Divine Sense anyway.

There was no way the two remaining opponent teams would be able to catch Kentucky again. Even if they did, just the two of them wouldn’t risk forcing Wisfreya’s Group’s hands again.

Finally, Celis held the Crystal Core during the last minute, and the challenge was over. Wisfreya’s group held onto their Crystal Core from start to finish, fighting against all the other nine teams, never dropping it once!

They have won the Martial Gathering of the Surute Region!
