Chapter 3803: Can’t Do It
Rean’s Divine Sense Bending could cover them, but the bigger the area, the harder it was to bend Divine Senses. The enemy now was a Celestial Realm Expert and the Universe’s Owner. Even though Rean and Kentucky flew so far, that guy’s Divine Sense still reached this place. That said, trying to open a Spatial Gate here, which impacts the space around by a great margin, was bound to be noticed by Kunprio.
So, what did they do while Roan bought time? Simple, if Rean’s Divine Sense Bending wasn’t enough, he might as well use a Formation. Formation was the norm when it came to Divine Sense concealment, after all. You find it in pretty much every city. Rean returned to the Dimensional Realm, and working with both Tanxan and Zangeshu, the three quickly crafted all the necessary runes.
Then, when Roan appeared again, Rean was ready for their escapade. Runes lit up, hiding the Spatial Changes of the area over a few hundred meters, giving the twins’ group just the necessary conditions.
"Alright, this should be enough. Kentucky, you are the best of us with Spatial Powers. Try to open the most calm Spatial Gate possible. The least the disturbance to the surroundings, the better," Rean said.
Kentucky quickly made a cutting motion with his talon, just a tiny bit. Spatial Powers gathered, and the Celestial Soul System joined.
*Pin!*
[Bypassing Spatial Runes.]
[Concluded.]
Finally, a Spatial Gate appeared, just big enough for a person to squeeze through. The ancient runes truly did not try to prevent it anymore.
The twins didn’t enter it straight away, though. After all, they still had Xian by their side. "Xian, this Spatial Gate leads to the outside. What do you want to do?"
Xian understood. "So I can’t come back if I go out?"
Rean shook his head in response. "It is not that you can’t come back, but that we don’t know how to bring you back. We all can open a Spatial Gate outside again, allowing a few mindless Umbras to come out so you won’t starve. You can even enter it to return behind the Fabric of Space if you want to. But the problem is that we don’t know where that Spatial Gate would be connected to. We might truly never find this Umbral Field ever again."
Rean wasn’t kidding. Let’s not forget that, depending on where you open a Spatial Gate, the place it connects behind the Fabric of Space might as well be millions of light-years away from the previous one. Not to mention there isn’t just one, but twelve Umbral Fields.
Xian obviously didn’t want to leave his sister, pondering about it for a moment.
Inside the Dimensional Realm, Celis felt a little apologetic to him. If Celis had stayed back there, the twins could have used him and left the Dimensional Realm by his side. Naturally, that wasn’t possible anymore.
"I see the problem... but if I stay here..." Xian was conflicted.
"Yes," Rean confirmed. "Truth be told, you will never be able to leave this Universe anyway. This kind of energy that you Umbras use to survive can only be found here. It is created by a thing called a system, and this system only exists here." Obviously, Rean didn’t tell Xian about their own Celestial Soul System.
"Nonetheless," Rean continued. "If we leave you here, you would probably be killed by that Celestial Realm expert. Even if you are not, you would be taken by the Level Three or Two Umbras on your way back since we wouldn’t be here to protect you. So, my recommendation is for you to come out with us so you can be safe first."
"A high chance of death, but at least I know I can go back if I’m not found. Or a low chance of death, but most likely never finding this place ever again..." Xian pondered.
Roan then added another piece of information. "It seems like that Celestial Realm Expert was using one of you Umbras to track us down earlier. So, the chances that he might find you are even higher. You need to make your decision quickly. Otherwise, we will just drag you out with us before we are found. We can’t allow that guy to know where we exited this place in case he has some other way of tracking us with that information."
Xian didn’t take long to reach a decision, detaching himself from Kentucky’s back. "I’m staying. Thank you for everything, Seniors Rean, Roan, Kentucky. Celis and Foliana in the Dimensional Realm, too."
Rean was taken aback. "That is most likely suicide. Do you understand that?"
"I’ll take my chances," Xian was adamant. He just couldn’t leave his Big Sister and the young ones behind. He also felt like he would be betraying his other Big Brothers and Sisters, who the Constructor Orbs took in the past.
Rean was about to insist, but Roan pulled him back by the shoulder. "Are you going to throw cold water on his resolve? Were your family back there, would you have left?"
Rean paused for a moment before letting out a sigh. He then took one of his Light Element Bracelets and quickly modified its inscriptions so that Xian could use it. Handing the bracelet to Xian, he said, "Take this. I’ve adjusted it to limit the amount of power it releases at once. The process will be more painful than when I helped you absorb that Level Two Umbra, due to the Yang Energy from the Light Element inside. However, it should still protect your soul from damage while you absorb those mindless Umbras."
"Considering the amount of Light Element stored inside, it should be enough for continuous use for two years straight," he added. "Do not activate it if you are not absorbing an Umbra. If you ration it, the Light Element inside might last you over a hundred years. It also has concealing runes in the inscriptions, so others shouldn’t be able to see it, only you."
Xian took the bracelet with a surprised expression. "Will it heal a soul like when you helped me?"
"No," Rean shook his head. "My intervention healed your soul, not because of the light element, but because of my purification skill. If I had time, I might have been able to make a piece that could use that. Obviously, time is what we have least at the moment. This bracelet I gave you will only prevent further damage, that’s all."
Indeed, Rean did use his Purification Skill back then. The fact that Rean was able to modify the bracelet quickly enough to at least protect Xian’s soul was already impressive in itself, but creating one that could utilize his skill by simply activating it would be another level altogether.
Xian was still happy to have it, and he didn’t plan to use it alone. "I understand. Thank you, seniors."
Then, Kentucky changed into his humanoid form so he could fit in the tiny Spatial Gate. "We need to go."
"Yes," Rean nodded. "Goodbye, Xian."
Finally, the three of them entered the Spatial Gate, leaving Xian behind, hoping he would be okay. That was all they could do.
