This is still the weakest recognized Divine Spirit?
Then what kind of feats could the strongest Divine Spirit accomplish?
Directly destroy an entire world?
"If gods like these exist, how could your world ever face an apocalypse?" The interstellar world Shen Yu spoke up at this moment, his brow deeply furrowed, "Either there's a disaster that even gods can't stop, or..."
A god—is the very source of apocalypse?
Wizard Shen Yu was stunned.
"Apocalypse..."
"Right, I haven't said this yet." Martial Artist Shen Yu explained, "The three of our worlds, including our Mother Star from our past life, are all currently beset by apocalyptic crises. That's why we've guessed that all the worlds we reincarnated into are likely civilizations on the brink of collapse, so we've formed the Multi-Dimensional Apocalypse Civilization Mutual Aid Association, working together to save our respective worlds..."
After a brief explanation, Wizard Shen Yu clenched his fist tightly.
"So that's it—apocalypse!" He took a deep breath, looked at the other three versions of himself, and said heavily, "If that's so, then my world is no exception. It truly is in the midst of apocalyptic crisis. Just five days ago, in every part of the world, churches, priests, god's agents—most have delivered the same divine prophecy: God intends to destroy humanity and remake the mortal world!"
That's right, that was exactly what happened five days ago.
When Wizard Shen Yu arrived at the Gray Mist Space, his entire world had already descended into chaos.
The leaders and priests at each church kept performing ritual after ritual.
Trying desperately to reconnect with the Divine Spirits, begging for their forgiveness.
But up to now, Wizard Shen Yu has yet to hear of anyone actually succeeding.
In fact, all "Divine Art" known by people is now completely ineffective; some "Holy Artifacts" once filled with Divine Power have all cracked, and some places, even the statue of the gods have utterly lost their divine glow.
Every sign points to the same truth.
This isn't just the anger or a decision of a single god—it's a shared decision by all the gods!
Destroy humanity, reshape the mortal realm.
Just a simple sentence, yet it brought endless terror to all people.
Wizard Shen Yu was one of those terrified people too. Despite relying on his own hard work, along with the thinking and learning skills of his past life, achieving modest repute as a Mage—in front of the gods, what difference is there between him and an ant?
Not to mention him—even the so-called Legendary Mage is at best just a slightly larger ant.
Originally, he had hoped this was only some sort of punishment, or that some kind of change might take place, but now, it seems that everyone's death under Divine Punishment has become fate—The gods truly are resolved to destroy the world.
They gave no reason, and no one knows why.
"So it seems, the apocalypse really is related to the Divine Spirits." Shen Yu frowned, slowly asking, "In your world, what exactly are Divine Spirits like? Where do they live? Are they like those Divine Spirits in Ancient Greek mythology?"
This particular world's apocalypse is somewhat different from other apocalypses.
As for the gods... it really depends; if, as Wizard Shen Yu just described, they're merely powerful Mages, then it's actually quite similar to the situation in interstellar world Shen Yu—the difference is simply that the power gap is greater.
"The gods reside in their own Divine Country," Wizard Shen Yu, steadying his emotions, explained, "I'm not a believer in any particular god, so I don't know the details of the Divine Countries. Every god has a different description of them. But I suspect it's some kind of half-plane or personal plane—after all, in my world, multiple planes do exist."
"Multiple planes?" The Shen Yu group was all startled.
Does that mean, it's not just a single world?
"It was a discovery by a Legendary Mage in history—they explored beyond the plane and found the existence of other planes." Wizard Shen Yu spoke in a low voice, "But, although they're different planes, the gods are the same; the other planes also bear traces of the gods."
Just a few sentences sketched the impression of the whole world.
A magic world with multiple planes, gods reigning in their Divine Countries, their influence spreading not only to one plane, but likely to all planes.
"Good news: more than one plane means the population's probably huge, so more chances for Gray Mist." Martial Artist Shen Yu sighed and shook his head, "Bad news: The gods might be even stronger than anyone anticipated."
"Exactly." Wizard Shen Yu nodded firmly, "The gods' lifespans seem infinite. According to the historical records, back more than four thousand years ago, when all the races were still ancient tribes, the gods had already begun to appear one after another. And even though gods frequently fight wars among themselves, there's never been any record of a god's fall."
If there were only a single plane, one could basically deduce the gods' level from historical records.
But with multiple planes, the possibilities were completely different.
Nobody knows about the other planes—no one knows what kind of power the gods have displayed in those planes, or even whether the gods known to them are all that exist, or if there are even stronger gods who've never appeared in their plane before.
As the unknown expands, the crisis grows too.
Inside the Gray Mist Space, it seemed as though everything suddenly froze into a heavy, stifling silence.
Everyone felt the pressure—especially Wizard Shen Yu.
He'd still carried hope, thinking maybe things wouldn't be quite this awful, but now, all his wishes had been utterly smashed!
And, it was as if he'd instantly transformed from a powerless little Mage going with the flow, into a figure who now held the survival of countless people across entire planes—or even more planes—in his hands.
Still, Wizard Shen Yu was Shen Yu all the same.
Ambition lurked in his heart as well.
Those who can't handle pressure will never achieve greatness or become great themselves.
"Whatever the case, since I've come here and met you, even facing the gods, there will never be no hope," Wizard Shen Yu spoke firmly, breaking the silence. "Even if the gods truly control all the planes and can obliterate everyone, in the true Multiverse, they are just as insignificant as dust."
"Exactly!" Shen Yu responded, looking at Wizard Shen Yu, at the other two, raising his voice, "I just told someone else: We revere the endless possibilities of the Multiverse, yet we do not fear the unknown. Our existence—the founding of the Multi-Dimensional Apocalypse Civilization Mutual Aid Association—is itself the greatest miracle!"
"That's right." Martial Artist Shen Yu raised his hand and slapped Wizard Shen Yu's shoulder, "You nailed it. Your world might suck, but at least you know who the enemy is. Look at our main self—even we still don't know what the enemy is, but we still fight to save our world! We help one another; together, we won't let things get worse."
"..." Shen Yu was speechless.
Ever since Martial Artist Shen Yu's rescue efforts got on track in his own world, he's just gotten more and more laid-back.
No way—I need to find a way to put more weight on his shoulders.
It's the very start of our venture, with so much yet to do, and everyone mad busy; how can we allow this guy to relax just like that?
Martial Artist Shen Yu had no idea that his main self Shen Yu had his eyes on him. After comforting Wizard Shen Yu, he turned to the other two and said, "Let's first tell our newcomer about each world's conditions, as well as the Association's rules and current state. Call it a mini meeting. Also, thanks to the Gray Mist, I've already boosted my power, you must have felt it too."
"That's right," the other two Shen Yus nodded.
They truly sensed it—their own bodies now shared the Martial Arts Realm of Martial Artist Shen Yu, with a marked qualitative change.
Although it'll still take a while to "recover" their power, the pace is amazingly fast—it won't be long.
