"She had to deal with something… anyways, I feel like we overprepared in terms of our clothing," Ethel lightly chuckled upon seeing the two Egyptians pull up in casual summer outfits. I mean, it was fitting for where they ruled their city from, but I wouldn't say it was the warmest in this massive hall.
Auntie Celestine, the woman who had given me the godly shard, got the stank eye from my mom as soon as she walked in. Her brown skin with black tattoos running up her face and down her neck was then covered by a tropical shirt colored in with tropical trees. She also wore very high short shorts that allowed us to see a bit too much of her thighs, but also the remaining black tattoos that crawled all the way down to her feet. Speaking of her feet, she had simple sandals on.
Now, the tattoos were pretty cool, but what I thought was the coolest part of her was not only the jewelry littering her body but also her braided hair that dripped all the way down to her waist. It was beautifully done, and the way she incorporated even more jewelry into each strand made her look like some kind of Egyptian goddess. She was graceful, beautiful, and collected… unlike her sister, who greeted us with a shout.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's up, everybody! It's been a while, hasn't it!?" The woman exclaimed, running over to the table and immediately sitting down in her chair. Auntie Celestine proceeded to sit right next to her, greeting Auntie Electra, who sat right beside her.
Auntie Clio was probably the most extroverted of the group if that wasn't very obvious. But on top of being a master at socializing, she was extremely powerful. And just like her sister, she had braided black hair and flawless chocolate brown skin, but this time, her tattoos were golden, shimmering in the light showering down from above.
She was wearing extremely short jean shorts that were maybe revealing a bit… too much. And the way she wore the upper top of a bikini seemed almost a bit unnecessary and almost a bit inappropriate for the occasion. I mean, she definitely pulled her off, but various members of the twelve gave her the stank eye as she sat down in her chair, Celestine quickly following up.
"There is a kid here," Auntie Electra murmured, glancing over at me and then back at Auntie Clio, who was, well, uncaring, to say the least. She couldn't give any less shits for the woman who was covered up from head to toe. "Also, did you not bring your husband? He was a good advisor and brought a lot to our table… unlike you."
Auntie Clio just smirked at Auntie Electra, not even saying anything. She almost seemed to uncaring, like she didn't even recognize her as a member of the twelve. And I guess Auntie Electra noticed this and really took it to heart since she proceeded to glare deep into the queen's cheery expression, only managing to scrape her aura but not the expression itself. She was too bright and cheery for anything else to touch it. It was impressive.
"Anyways, why did you bring your daughter Lucy? We have important matters to discuss, and having her here will just distract some of us… especially those two," Auntie Electra added to her hate train before looking at the two culprits, who were already distracted by my presence. Both Auntie Ethel and Auntie Clio had immediately recognized me and were gleaming with joy and precious energy. It radiated not only to me but the rest of the room.
"Honey, don't you want to sit with Auntie over here?" Auntie Ethel asked, patting her lap. But I checked in with Mother first, and as I glanced over at her, she just shrugged, placing all of the pressure on me. "Come on, are you scared of me? Do you really want to sit with that cold woman and annoying succubus?"
Auntie Ethel continued to try and seduce me with her sweet words, but I didn't even give them attention as Auntie Clio simply held out a handful of snacks that looked so delicious I could hardly keep the drool from sliding out of my mouth. Despite me just having breakfast, I was already starving to the point I felt a bit nauseous.
The sparring I had done with the Prince last night was intense and used up so much of my energy. In addition, the other people there who the Prince invited kicked both of our asses without any mercy. It was almost like they were going for the kill the entire time, causing me to be mostly on edge this morning. My instincts were still on full blast. And well, even now, I felt like I was tripping balls.
"Honey, surely you won't ditch us for just a few snacks, right?" Mama smiled, but behind that kind expression were daggers pointed right at my throat. If I said something she didn't want to hear, there was no doubt she would punish me.
"Hey, don't threaten your kid. She's old enough to make her own decisions," Auntie Clio stepped in, waving the snacks even more in front of me. And as I was crammed from all sides, I began to sweat as it felt like this might be the most important decision of my life.
Blooop
But I was able to breathe a sigh of relief as the portal behind us rippled once more, allowing me to sink back into my mother. Her icy white hair drooped onto my chest, and as I felt her cool touch wrap around me, I hugged her arms back.
"Woah, I thought we were early," A woman I had never seen before took off her thick sunglasses and smiled, two pearly white fangs protruding from her top row of teeth. My attention was soon ripped from those daggers of hers to her slim, almost reptilian blood-red pupils. They were dark and eerie, like the depths of a pool of blood. It was unsettling, to say the least.
Her hair was a deep, dark red that was tied into a long ponytail. And from her hair that was loosely tied back, just a few inches down, I noticed two black and rigid draconic horns sprouting from her forehead. This clearly signaled she was a dragon of some sort. Yet contrary to that belief, not even a few seconds after she came through the portal, two leathery small bat-like wings unfolded from her back, flapping slightly as they attempted to appear elegant.
Her tight and edgy black suit, matched with also black jewelry, was tightly pressed up against her feminine features. And her assets were quite large so she looked good in them… well, maybe a bit too good as what I assumed to be her sister felt jealous as the attention was drawn away from her.
"Yeah, it seems almost the entire gang is here," What I assumed to be the woman's sister smirked, slipping in front of the woman in her edgy attire and taking off her own sunglasses. She had pretty much the same physical features, but instead of having draconic, rigid horns, she had spiraling goat horns, making her look very devilish.
The outfit she was wearing was similar to her sister, but for some reason, it just didn't hit the same. I didn't know if it was because the jewelry was in strange places or her assets maybe weren't as big, but it just looked generally unimpressive… in my humble opinion. Of course, that was me just being judgy while the rest of the members of Tolf were clapping and smiling, as their outfits definitely outclassed almost everybody in the room.
"Girls, this isn't a fashion runway. I believe we can start without the others now that more than-" My mother was quickly interrupted by the gurgling of the portal's fluids. So, as the two red-haired women sat in their seats, two new figures came through. And these people I was familiar with.
First, there was Auntie Aria, who was wearing a cute black dress with tons of jewelry and silk gloves, whilst Auntie Amanda wore a cute white dress and matching silk gloves. They were both dressed up like dolls, and their slight makeup really accentuated everything and perfectly molded aspects together.
Auntie Aria had her dark blue hair tied up into two buns stuffed behind her head, whilst Auntie Amanda went for a more hair-down type of look. Although her hair was already shorter than others, so it really fit her to have it down, and I guess a bit messy.
And like the gods didn't want my mother to proceed with the meeting, the portal gurgled yet again, causing a woman with long black hair and pitch-black eyes to nearly run into the two young women in front of her.
"Oh, sorry about that girl… damn, is he not here yet? Alright, I'll go get him," She muttered, heading back through the portal for some strange reason.
