…
For but a second, her status had flashed them status as Lucy, but what really caught me off guard was that both of them had this soul equipment… when it was supposed to just be Ada.
"Ugh… so much trouble… I guess it's about time we actually do something about that place, huh?"
…
(Ada POV)
"Auntie, what's wrong?" I asked as she was just sitting there, seemingly mulling over a few questions or possible answers.
"Sh-should I have not asked that?"
"No, you're fine, honey," She quickly responded while sitting up with the help of who I now presumed to be her girlfriend. "Let's get going back to the first layer… we aren't just here to dilly dally,"
"Are you sure? You look a bit pale?" Athena questioned her as she supported her with her shoulder and helped carry her out of the club.
"Yeah… I just uh… have a few more things to stress over, but I'll talk to you about them later. I need to confirm something with my eyes,"
As Auntie kept being mysterious, we soon made our way to the top layer of the city, which was as beautiful as always.
The streets were bustling even as night began to fall, but even now, a bit of moonlight slithered its way through the water, just barely illuminating the tops of the city.
But, the streets were illuminated by powerful glowing coral that was more than enough to keep everything working even as people went to sleep.
"Cool," I suddenly let something slip out of my mouth and the two smug faces who glued their eyes onto me was embarrassing.
I couldn't help but blush as the two women both lightly chuckled.
"Honey, you're fine," Athena muttered before gesturing for me to follow as we turned into a spooky alleyway.
It was riddled with cobwebs, and the slight musty stench of garbage permeated through the air, just showing even the most beautiful of cities can have a bit of taintedness to them.
Soon, we reached the end of the alleyway, where a mysterious wooden door greeted us, but the two both seemed like they had been there multiple times.
BAM BAM BAM BAM
Athena banged against the door, causing a woman to slowly peek her head out of from within the strange room.
She smelled absolutely horrible, like she hadn't taken a bath or shower in months, and I wasn't the only one who smelled this horrendous creature.
But her yellow eyes and long yellow hair told me that she was someone familiar and, in fact, it was somebody that I saw at my very own late baby shower of some sort.
"Auntie Electra?" I asked, and the woman's eyes which had severe dark bags under them, shifted onto me, brightening her mood.
"Ah, you're finally here. Lucy told me lots about you," She muttered, slowly opening the door for us and letting out a gust of disgusting and sweaty wind.
"How about we clean this place up first," Auntie Ethel grimaced.
We soon entered the place and found ourselves in a comfy loft apartment, but the comfiness was a bit… I don't know… ruined?
The entire place was covered with trash, and the stench of sweat just lingered in the atmosphere.
I noticed all kinds of technology were hung everywhere, spread everywhere, and were just sitting everywhere without any real purpose.
"Sorry about this… I'm not the cleanest person if you can tell," She lightly chuckled, but none of us were amused.
Auntie Ethel quickly shoved her sister into her bathroom, which had a spotless shower, meaning she hadn't used it since the last time she had cleaned this place.
And while Auntie Ethel was taking care of that, Athena and I were helping to throw away some of the garbage.
Auntie Electra made sure to clean up all of her technology while sorting it into various places that were more like just shoving it under a bed.
Within only a few hours, we had cleaned up the place when it seemed as if it would be an impossible task in the first place.
It just needed a bit more dusting, but if Auntie Electra really wanted us to do that, then she should've been paying us.
"Geez, you really are something," Athena muttered, stroking Auntie Electra's hair as she sat down at her now spotless desk.
She had a computer with at least five monitors, but before we cleaned up, I noticed there were nine attached to that beefy computer.
"Mhm… if you want to go pet somebody, then comfort the little girl over there. She was probably traumatized by that hotbox of an office you have,"
Auntie Electra didn't even give so much of a blink as her eyes were glued to the screens in front of her, logging in and bringing up several files stored on her desktop.
"What's that there?"
"Just a few murder cases up here… can't have the city going to shit and ending up like the lower half," Auntie Electra smirked.
Athena just gently shook her head, not falling for the woman's provocation, before walking over to me, who was sitting on Auntie Electra's comfy couch.
I felt the slight stress within my body dwindle, and as Athena slowly laid my head in her plump lap, her warmth made me nearly drool with comfort.
"Your hair is so silky… is it genetics, or do you do something to keep it so clean?" Athena asked, lightly petting my head while inspecting my hair with twirling fingers.
"Ask… my maids," I yawned before slowly closing my eyes and drifting off into the land of dreams.
