The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 151: The Power of Machine Guns

"That's right, Captain Ron Do! Chen Zheng holds what we're after," John said without hesitation.

Ron Do narrowed his eyes. How can I extract a fortune from this group?

"If I could help you achieve your desire, what price would you be willing to pay?"

At his words, John and the other executives fell into deep thought. After exchanging glances, they huddled together to confer. Ron Do did not rush them, simply watching the monitor leisurely.

After a lengthy discussion, they finally reached a consensus.

John approached Ron Do and said gravely, "Captain Ron Do, we've come to an agreement. Chen Zheng is no ordinary individual. His ability to turn Slick must indicate he is something extraordinary! We don't want the treasure in his possession. The object of our desire can also be found on another person! Therefore, we are willing to offer ten million dollars, and we implore you, Captain Ron Do, to eliminate both Chen Zheng and Slick!"

A ruthless glint flickered in John's eyes.

"As for the item we require, we hope you'll help us again, Captain Ron Do! We can discuss payment for that after this is over."

"Tsk!"

What a bunch of cowards! Ron Do sneered internally. Still, another ten million dollars would be nice.

"Fine! I'll do as you wish!" Ron Do agreed.

John and the others looked visibly pleased, and they all turned their gazes to the monitor.

"Send the order! Once the target enters a two-kilometer radius, let them experience the firepower of the anti-aircraft machine gun!"

"Yes, Boss!"

With Ron Do's order, the Serpent Kui members sprang into action. On the peak of the villa mountain, a massive machine gun swiveled its muzzle, aiming down the path Chen Zheng's group was taking.

「Meanwhile, on the yacht.」

"We've entered a 3,000-meter radius of Serpent Kui Island. Another 1,000 meters and we'll be in range of their anti-aircraft machine gun!" Slick said to Chen Zheng as he steered the yacht.

Fear enveloped Slick's heart. If he thought he could resist Chen Zheng's power, he would have already jumped into the sea and fled the yacht.

That's a machine gun... the kind of terrifying weapon that can shoot down a speeding fighter jet. A single bullet would turn a man into a bloody pulp.

Slick was filled with deep regret. Why did I have to get greedy over such a small thing and provoke this man?

"Continue!" Chen Zheng said indifferently.

He understood Slick's worries, but he had supreme confidence in himself. His cultivation had already broken through the peak of the Grandmaster realm. While he was still unsure what the next realm was, he could feel that the power within his body was several times stronger than before.

Gritting his teeth, Slick forcibly suppressed his fear and steered the yacht forward. The range had closed to 2,500 meters. Staring at the clearly visible island ahead, Slick felt his heart plummet into an abyss.

"That's enough. Stop here." Chen Zheng's voice rang out just as the yacht was about to cross the 2,000-meter mark. It was as calm as a breeze brushing across a lake.

Slick immediately stopped, the great weight on his heart finally lifting. No one else could see it, but Slick's back was drenched in a cold sweat, as if he'd been chilled by a cold night wind.

"Huh? They stopped?" In the metal villa, the men furrowed their brows slightly.

A hint of contempt flashed in Ron Do's eyes. He had anticipated this outcome. It was like a cat playing with a mouse.

"Damn it, what's that?" Just then, one of the Lan Luo Zi executives suddenly cried out as if he'd seen a ghost.

Ron Do shot him a look of dissatisfaction, as if annoyed at a clown for ruining his show.

"My God! What is that!" came another cry of alarm, this one sounding as if the speaker had just witnessed the end of the world.

Stunned, Ron Do looked toward the other executives. In an instant, he was completely dumbfounded.

On the monitor, Chen Zheng had suddenly levitated into the air like some mysterious Mage. He just floated there, like a drifting cloud.

Ron Do's eyes widened. The world of a mercenary was full of strange sights and adventures, but this scene was on another level. He had never felt so shocked. This wasn't magic; it was a power beyond his understanding.

Just then, Chen Zheng moved. Soaring through the sky like an eagle, he instantly broke through Serpent Kui Island's defensive perimeter.

"He's coming!" John and the other executives screamed in terror.

Ron Do immediately reacted, commanding loudly, "Shoot! Whatever that thing is, bring him down!"

The Serpent Kui members sprang into action. The anti-aircraft gun spewed a torrent of fire as its heavy reports echoed through the air. On the brightly lit monitor, streaks of light like shooting stars tore across the sky, heading straight for Chen Zheng.

Yet Chen Zheng was like an eagle riding the wind. His gaze was profound and serene, his body weaving through the air with poetic grace.

SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!

The bullets rained down into the sea, kicking up spray. Yet not a single one could touch him.

"How... how is this possible?" The fear in Slick's heart had long since vanished, replaced by deep astonishment. He finally understood why Ri La had been so terrified that night.

Unlike Slick, Li Cangyun and the others were filled with envy. They knew they could also hover briefly, but they were incapable of soaring freely through the sky like Chen Zheng.

This was the difference in their power!

Ron Do was furious. "Fuck! How can they miss? Increase the firepower!"

WHIZ! WHIZ! WHIZ!

The anti-aircraft gun's rate of fire erupted. Dense streams of bullets tore through the air like meteors, shooting straight at Chen Zheng. As he drew closer to Serpent Kui Island, the density of the incoming fire increased.

Just then, a tracer round streaked directly into Chen Zheng's flight path.

"It's a hit!" Ron Do roared in delight.

But the next second, he froze, his expression rigid.

He saw the bullet, one that could pierce through steel plates, deflect violently off Chen Zheng's body. And Chen Zheng continued to streak through the air, unharmed.

"What is this..." Ron Do's eyes were as wide as brass bells.

John and the others were so astonished their jaws dropped.

They had no idea that Chen Zheng was calmly analyzing the machine gun's power. The destructive force isn't bad. The impact of a single bullet probably exceeds a full-strength blow from an ordinary Grandmaster!

"Time to die!" one of the gunners roared maniacally from behind the anti-aircraft gun.

He gripped the weapon with all his strength, keeping his sights locked on Chen Zheng. A foot-long tongue of flame shot from the muzzle, and the barrel began to glow red. Bullets spewed out in an endless stream, and spent casings danced wildly in the air. His eyes were already bloodshot.

Chen Zheng flew swiftly, getting closer and closer to the gun.

"ARGH!" The Serpent Kui gunner roared, the sound as loud as thunder.
