Mountain of Mind and Heart.
Where there is light, there is shadow; even in the Buddha Country Sacred Land, where Buddha's light perpetually shines, it is no exception.
At the shadowy side of the Mountain of Mind and Heart, a solemn black gate stands tall, inscribed with the words Jiuhua Temple. Beyond the gate lies a misty realm, where light and shadow fluctuate, revealing glimpses of Buddhist temples and monk dwellings, with a faint presence of stupas standing tall.
The overlapping of the seemingly real and illusory space with the mountain body creates an impression of a mirage, as if existing in another world.
This is where the Dao Field of the Fourth Rank Wheel-turning King of the Buddha Country is located.
The Buddha Country has two Great Masters and six Bodhisattvas, but among the six Great Bodhisattvas, there are actually seven, which is common knowledge. The Wheel-turning King is the one outside the six, who, despite lacking the Bodhisattva Dao Fruit, is still held in reverence as a Bodhisattva within the Buddha Country.
The space behind the gate wavers with light and shadow and soon becomes solid, revealing the walls of a temple and a dark sky. Through the wide-open gate, one can see a massive roulette floating on a lotus-shaped plaza within, emitting a pure and holy Buddha light that starkly contrasts with the dim sky.
On that roulette, six figures of monks are etched, surrounded by diverse patterns, including sacred and solemn edifices, eerie and terrifying hells, creatures born of moisture and eggs, the infinite dust of the mortal world, and the blood-stained Asura killing fields.
Upon the roulette, the scenes of the Six Paths of Reincarnation are all present.
And before the roulette, a golden orb quietly floats, with a faint silhouette of a sitting figure discernible within.
Suddenly, the roulette spins, and with the distortion of light and shadow, a pitch-black portal opens, from which a burly figure, dressed like an official, flies out.
Observing its form, it is not a physical body but one condensed of Yin Qi, a ghostly form, yet carrying a trace of the Qi of Yang, indicating it is a Sixth Rank Day Patrol Deity. Furthermore, this Day Patrol Deity is imbued with a pure and masculine Buddha light.
In the Buddha Country, such Buddha light can only belong to the Great Master Manjusri.
Manjusri joined the path mid-way; although he long became a foundational pillar of Buddhism, his cultivation body, belonging to the Jiang family's "Qi Tomb," wasn't abolished but integrated with Buddhist cultivation techniques, making his Buddha light quite distinctive, evident at a glance.
This Day Patrol Deity must be the Yin God sent to deliver a message to Manjusri.
"Greetings to Revolving Wheel Bodhisattva."
After landing on the ground, the Day Patrol Deity respectfully saluted the orb before the roulette, saying: "The Great Master Manjusri specifically instructed me to convey his gratitude. When he returns in the future, he will personally visit Jiuhua Temple to express his thanks to the Revolving Wheel Bodhisattva."
The Wheel-turning King has already demonstrated his inclination through actions. Regardless of his future choices and whether Manjusri believes the Wheel-turning King has turned towards him, at least for now, Manjusri intends to express his gratitude.
In response, a sound as calm and clear as water emanates from the orb, and the sole ghost cultivator in the Buddha Country spoke plainly: "Such a trivial matter is not worth mentioning. You may return and inform Vajrapani Bodhisattva that shortly after this monk opened the Netherworld Channel, someone else also opened a channel. However, this person likely does not possess the Yama Dao Fruit but instead used a Dao Artifact to open the channel, upon which rests the Gate of Ghost.
"The Gate of Ghost?!" The Day Patrol Deity's countenance was stern.
As a member of the Jiang family, how could he not know the significance of the Gate of Ghost?
The Gate of Ghost originally belonged to the Yin Law Department and was handed over to the Lu King upon his severe injury to aid his promotion. However, the Lu King's promotion nearly succeeded but ultimately failed. Not only did he die, but the Gate of Ghost was lost and ended up in the hands of Elder Tianxuan of the Dinghu Sect.
The matter concerned the current head of the Gongsun family, which was no small issue.
"If Bodhisattva could wait a moment, I will immediately report to Vajrapani Bodhisattva."
The Day Patrol Deity bowed again and hurried away.
Not long after, a monk in red robes advanced from the gate, followed by Jiang Zhuliu, who was also clad in red.
"Buddhist friends."
Vajrapani greeted them and then directly asked, "May I ask, Buddhist friend, where has the Gate of Ghost been opened?"
"The other party did not fully activate the Gate of Ghost, making the perception faint. However, as I perceive it, the Gate of Ghost should have appeared in the land of White Mountain and Black Water," replied the Wheel-turning King.
"White Mountain and Black Water..." Vajrapani displayed a peculiar expression.
Behind him, Jiang Zhuliu was filled with astonished delight.
This was because Tianxuan could not possibly be in the land of White Mountain and Black Water at this moment.
She had been pursued relentlessly by the Immortal Queen, fighting and retreating, now reaching the western edge of Liangzhou Province. Meanwhile, the White Mountain Black Water region is located to the northeast of Kunxu Mountain, and far from being entirely opposite, it is a thousand miles away from Tianxuan's current position.
Therefore, it could not be Tianxuan.
In addition to delivering news of the changes at Mountain of Mind and Heart, the Day Patrol Deity also brought information from the other side.
According to the Jiang family's eldest son's report, Tianxuan and Jiang Li have now parted ways, leading the Immortal Queen away with a Second Grade Daoist Artifact. Although Jiang Zhuyang only observed their duel from afar, he could confirm through his sensing of the Jiang family's secret techniques and treasures that neither the Ochre Whip nor the Divine Farmer's Cauldron were near Tianxuan.
However, because Jiang Li had almost completely integrated the Ochre Whip and the Divine Farmer's Cauldron, Jiang Zhuyang could only generally ascertain that these treasures were not nearby, and was unable to precisely locate them if the distance was too great.
The news brought by the Wheel-turning King now undoubtedly provided Jiang Zhuyang, who was in pursuit of Jiang Li, with a direction.
Vajrapani did not doubt the Wheel-turning King's abilities. It was the Wheel-turning King who first sensed the Gate of Ghost appearing in Yong Province, which led the White Lotus Saint Mother Bodhisattva, now the Lifeless Mother Tan Wuwei, to intercept there.
Having done so once, it was not difficult to sense the Gate of Ghost opening again.
"I humbly request you, Buddhist friend, to reopen the Netherworld Channel," Vajrapani earnestly asked.
